Best hidden gem! We are RAAAVINGG about this place! All you need to know is Christmas roll. Wonderful melange of flavors from yuzu and black truffle with salmon belly and tuna belly. Unreal! 5++++++++++++ stars!!!! The owner and sushi chef hails from New York and was trained by a Japanese sushi chef and some other spots and it shows. The rolls on the menu are for the masses, so if you want something special he can do so much more. Sarasota you are so lucky!!!!

Star is amazing and they use TOP QUALITY tuna and all fish. MOST other sushi restaurants serve a completely different fish for tuna and hers is the most quality bluefin tuna. Star only serves what she would eat herself and the woman is alllll about quality! Go and never look back. We love you Star, thank you!

FIVE stars I couldn't be more satisfied with my trip to Hoshi Sushi, the server was so polite she even taught me how to use chopsticks! The sashimi I had is the best I've ever had, and I will be back for more! The rolls were as fresh as can be, I mean even the avocado was just amazingly fresh, I cannot find a flaw with this place, everything was 10/10, one of the only places I've ever felt compelled to write a review about, the reviews stating they were "rude" made me hesitant but this couldn't be further from true, and for this Quality fish the server could just about slap me across the face and I'd still order and leave a tip! Lol

Fantastic.... sushi was incredible... atmosphere was nice... staff is amazing... I am not a local but anytime I'm in the area I will be here... it's incredible unbelievable unfathomable . I got the out of control roll and pink lady roll... absolutely amazing If u r in the area or live here come here.... Looks like a family business and the nicest people I've ever met. Host thought I was hilarious!!! UPDATE: Place was so good that we decided to come back for lunch.. unfortunately it was a Sunday and it opens at 3 on the weeks and we had to leave today... BUT the next time I am within 30 mins of this place I will be coming here it was INSANE... Great everything I will be back!

Nice little hidden gem in Gulfgate! We both had Hibachi meals & they were delicious! Our hostess/server was super nice. Cute seating area. Definite worth a try! We will go back!
This sushi place is absolutely phenomenal. It's not too expensive and they have great portions in the bento boxes, other places are too small. Even the fried rice and salad is good, which is very important. Their sushi is just amazing every time.Vegetarian options: Tofu bento box
