“Art’s Sandwich Shop is a straight-up Orlando classic and one of the best sandwich spots in the city.
This family-owned shop (same location on S. Orange Blossom Trail since 1972) still feels like a time capsule in the best way—wood paneling, old photos, no-frills counter service, and sandwiches made to order the way they always have. The famous Philly cheesesteak is legitimately excellent: well-seasoned, properly chopped meat, good cheese-to-meat ratio, and generous. The Cuban, Italian combo, turkey bacon club, and grilled chicken subs are all strong too. Seasoned fries and the coleslaw are must-adds. Portions are solid and the food is consistently fresh.
What really sets the place apart is the people. The staff is genuinely friendly and treat regulars like family. We moved away and came back over a year later—they still remembered us. That kind of personal touch is rare these days and says everything about how they run the place.
It’s not fancy and the hours are limited (Mon–Fri only), but if you want real, old-school sandwich shop quality with zero pretension, this is it. Highly recommended.“

“I’ve been coming to Houndstooth Eatery for years and it’s easily one of my favorite local spots. I usually get the chicken avocado press and it’s always hot, fresh, delicious, and incredibly quick. The quality is consistently great, everything is clean, and the energy is always welcoming.

One of my favorite things is how much they love my pup Duncan. He literally runs up to them so excited to say hi and get his little treat\! 🐾 They always bring him fresh water whether we sit inside or out on the patio, and they even have photos of their four-legged regulars on the wall.

Such a great family owned Maitland business with amazing food and genuinely good people. An easy 5 stars from Duncan and me! ❤“

“We decided to try Bricks & Butter in Orlando and had a very nice experience. Bricks & Butter is one of about eight food trucks that line the outside of a large central seating area. It was easy to find, and there was a good amount of parking available when we visited. The seating area has tables, some shaded areas, and a nice grassy area in the middle. There is no air conditioning, so keep that in mind on a hot Florida day, although there was a decent amount of shade. There are also two permanent drink stations at opposite ends of the seating area, with one offering coffee and other drinks and the other serving alcoholic beverages. Bricks & Butter specializes in signature sandwiches, and you order using a screen located at the window of the food truck. After placing your order, you enter your name and phone number so they can let you know when it is ready. We ordered the steak sandwich and the Chicken Parm sandwich, one with sweet potato fries and the other with regular curly fries. Our order took about 10-15 minutes to come out. Both sandwiches were large, and the fries were served separately on foam plates. Everything was very good, although our favorites were definitely the Chicken Parm sandwich and the sweet potato fries. If you want ketchup or other condiments, make sure to ask for them because they were not automatically included with our order. The total for all of our food was about $45, which I thought was reasonable considering the size and quality of the sandwiches and fries. Overall, this was a nice four-star experience with great food, pleasant staff, and a unique atmosphere. It is also nice having several other food trucks around the same seating area if everyone in your group doesn't want the same type of food. I would definitely recommend giving Bricks & Butter a try if you are in the area. Enjoy!“
