My husband and I recently discovered this place and fell in love! He can't have gluten due to Celiac Disease, and they accommodated him so beautifully and in such a friendly way that we felt like honored guests instead of the problem table due to his food restrictions. We have gone in or ordered out several times and have loved every part of the experience, from the amazing food (our stockings were packed with their packaged foods this year), to the cozy and elevated atmosphere, to the top-notch service at all times.I'm so saddened that this place is closing down. If love and tastiness could save them, they'd be open until kingdom come. The beautiful gluten-free fried chicken, creamed sweet potatoes, pepper jelly pecans, and cheese straws will live rent free in my mind for all time, and if they ever sell anything at a market or open up another project, I know we will give them our support! Thanks for everything. Dietary restrictions: ?Their menu boasts many gluten-free options, and I'm not saying just a salad, minus the croutons - there's actual fried chicken, cheese straws, wonderful sides, and expressing dietary restrictions has always been met with seriousness and care. This place is a Celiac's dream.

We ate here last week and had a really delicious lunch. As always, the food was great, especially the veggies and tomato pie. I would like to suggest a service upgrade: we finished eating lunch and went back to order dessert, but there was no room on our table for our desserts. The server was very friendly, but she never came out from behind the counter to help out, she just stayed on her phone! We had to clear our dirty dishes to another table to make room for dessert dishes. Even more casual dining establishments that have the same type of counter service (I'm thinking Ted's, Taqueria del Sol, etc) have better service than this, so it was pretty disappointing.Vegetarian options: We aren't vegetarian, but we love vegetables, and we are impressed with the variety that home.made offers.

So sad it's closed now for dinner, visited their last weekend dinner service. A great meal with impeccable service in such a relaxing atmosphere. (edited to correct not being closed all the time!)

Best home made like meals found in any restaurant in Athens. Very highly recommended!!!

The food quality and flavor is AMAZING! Additionally, their staff is some of the best we have ever experienced. Their genuine happiness was contagious and their inability to be inconvenienced was noticed. They did a fabulous job accommodating our wedding reception and bringing our vision to life. An athen's staple we will forever recommend to anyone!

It was very good - their Sunday brunch was pleasant. I gave it 4 stars because the environment is loud and small which hinders the experience if you’re trying to talk with friends or family over a meal. But great food!

There’s not enough that I can say to convey how excellent Mimi’s cooking is. She’s at her finest right now. The dirty rice fritters and pork belly were INSANE. The fried chicken is light and crispy with a perfectly complex hottie sauce. Go here. As often as you can

Absolutely delicious! The tomato pie, pork and bread pudding we could have ordered a second order if they were so good. It was a very enjoyable experience and we will be back!

The dishes were absolutely shiny in flavor. Small (called family plates) for share. You'll want at least 3 to 4 for a group of four. Brussel sprouts, tomato cake and mac&cheese were bristling and flawless if (Brussels) were not the best I have ever had. Next protein. I would have eaten all. Presentation visually exciting and, importantly, meaningful and perfectly matching and innovative. Notably: physiologically meaningful plates. Walked out feeling great. Really minor points deducted for the dim light and somewhat frazzled dining room team - please count closer to 5 stars. A real highlight of my visit to Athens. Go there! Yay. I would come back any time.

I can't say anything bad about the quality of food, it was delicious. I can say that the recent restructuring of the menu along with the portion size will either have you leaving hungry or easily spending $50 a person or more. Again very good food but the value of the experience is gone. It's also very small and loud in there and parking is quite difficult to secure.Parking: There is parking but very little and the spots in back are hard to access. You're likely parking next door where you aren't supposed to.

The service was crazy slow--had reservations for 7p and got to our table around 7:30. Checks didn't come out till 9:30. Food portions were very small and seemed over-priced for what was offered. Our waitress was unattentive and refilled drinks once in 2 hours.

Food is awesome. Service is wonderful. But has anyone experienced the rudeness of the management like my family has? We were treated rudely by manager in an incident over three years ago so it took a while to get over it and return in 2023. Oh my goodness — deja-vu tonight. We were so respectful and pleased with our dinner but manager appeared angry that we were late reservation at 7:45. He couldn’t wait to move us out of the restaurant, even turning off the lights in the adjoining room at 8:45 pm. We only would go back because the service is good and food so wonderful — but the management is so unappreciative of their customers. And I don’t understand why. So I doubt we will return or even recommend to our friends in Gainesville. Gosh, we love the food so much that I believe we will just try take-out there next time to avoid the manager
