My favorite breakfast spot in Athens. I’m heartbroken by the thought of possibly never being able to dine at this place again. Thank you always for the great service and food.

As 1 of only 3 front of house employees (minus the family who owned it), I appreciated y’all coming in. I’ll miss working here. Great food and great people. Sadly COVID took a toll. Appreciate y’all’s business and tips.

Hands down the rest brunch place in Athens. Their biscuits are amazing. The Ooey Gooey is not overhyped- just try it. Trust me.

IMO mama jewels is way better than mama boys for breakfast. Service is faster and the food has a bit more flavor and isn't as dry. Portions are massive so you definitely get your money's worth.

Mediocre. Pecan coffee tastes ok. Would never pay that much for a bag of it though. Customer service can be lacking. Portions are small for the price, chicken is usually burnt and tough. Best option is the French toast. Only thing I will order if I have to come with friends.

My favorite place in Athens! I have never had a bad thing here. Everything is amazing especially the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and cheese grits!! Quality, delicious SOUTHERN food! Don’t even go to Mama’s Boy where everyone tells you to go, Mama Jewels beats that place every time. Also, go ahead and buy the southern pecan candle at checkout, you will NOT regret it!

I love this place for brunch. Friendly staff, great food, very filling. You get your money's worth eating here. Me and one other person and had the Ooey Gooey Biscuit Sandwich - we loved it. I thought the biscuit was a little doughy, but good. One other person had the shrimp and grits. He said it was excellent. It was very busy, but the lines move along at a pretty good pace. Definitely will be going back.

This is one of the best places I've ever been for breakfast or brunch. The food is amazing, with the perfect Southern touch. The Ooey Gooey biscuit or their giant Chicken and Waffles, the welcoming vibe, and the friendly staff make you feel at home. Truly a gem!

We arrived during peak crowd. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. The food was excellent Southern fare served hot and delicious. I highly reccomend Mama Jewel's Kitchen!

I was really excited to try Mama Jewels based on the reviews. The experience was disappointing. The coffee tasted watered down, the waffles were undercooked and mushy, and the biscuits and gravy with grits came cold. That being said, the fried chicken was good, although the portion put on the chicken and waffles was surprisingly small compared to photos. Maybe they were having a bad day? Unfortunately, we won’t be back to see if that was the case.

I love going to this restaurant! The food is so so so good and the wait is always less than Mama's boy! The pecan coffee is to die for, and the ooey gooey is absolutely the best brunch sandwich on the planet. I cannot recommend this enough for a fun and delicious brunch with a cute atmosphere. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well. Also you can buy coffee and candles to take home if you enjoy the pecan coffee (I literally cannot recommend it enough)!

I visit this spot a lot since I work in the area. I must say their service is always excellent and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Prices are reasonable and they serve large portions.

Always delicious! Best fried chicken ever. Don’t skip the Ooey Gooey!

Great chicken biscuit! Ordered the baby goat and Miller potatoes. The biscuit was awesome-- the balance of goat cheese, fried chicken, and balsamic vinegar was really delicious. The potatoes were well cooked, but I did salt them which I very rarely do. I'd absolutely go back!
