New Red Bowl is an excellent place for Chinese cuisine! I have eaten here more times than I can count and look forward to going every chance I get. My favorites are the General Tso chicken and the appetizer sampler. Do yourself a favor and go!

I got the general tsos with steamed rice, pork fried rice and a spring roll. Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had. I have no complaints! I will for sure be

The Bang Bang shrimp was excellent and thanks for putting the sauce on the side. The New Red Bowl Fried rice was also very flavorful. The curried chicken on a stick was tasty but a little dry. Overall, great food, so I will return. The carryout order was ready when I arrived. The woman at the cashier was friendly.

Called in for carry out at this establishment this evening. Receptionist was fine said 30 mins for our order. We were stuck waiting there another 50 minutes after that for our food. Big surprise that when we made the journey home, (a whole 2 blocks) our food was cold. No flavor, no sauce to the chicken and broccoli. The shrimp fried rice was essentially regular steamed rice with a tiny bit of color and veggies, zero flavor at all. The lemon chicken was absolutely horrid. Old chicken that tasted spoiled and way overcooked, stringy. $60 for 2 people with very gross food that got thrown out anyway is absurd. Also, watching the employees there in the dining room should have been our first red flag. Bus boy would take the dirty dishes and put them in the bin and without wiping the table would put new settings out. Disgusting. Don’t waste your time or money.

I wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to everyone who was working on Christmas Day this year, specifically to the hosts and servers I interacted with throughout the night.I was at the restaurant multiple times that evening- not as a customer, but as a third party delivery driver. Due to the holiday and the fact that this restaurant was one of the few places that was open, they were absolutely SLAMMED. Any sensible person who is going out, getting delivery, or placing a to go order should understand that wait times are going to be longer on holidays…but people were being horrible to the employees. They had a restaurant full of people. Online, phone, and third party delivery orders were flooding in. There was a line out the door. Wait times were long. AS EXPECTED.While I was waiting for my delivery orders to be ready, I saw so many customers yelling at and being incredibly rude and disrespectful toward the employees. Every single worker did an AMAZING job with keeping their composure, even while being yelled at for things that were far beyond their control. They tried to reassure customers and help as they could with resolving issues. They were great about keeping customers and delivery drivers updated about wait times, too. They checked in often to make sure that everyone had been taken care of to the best of their ability.Of course, you could tell that it was a stressful work day, that they were overwhelmed by the number of people, and that none of them had planned to spend the holiday getting screamed at. But. They did it all with such grace and had wonderful customer service.I truly hope that each employee knows how valuable they are to the restaurant and that they are appreciated so much. I was talking to one of the hosts while waiting on my orders, and I tried to remind her that not everyone sucks and that she absolutely did not deserve to be treated so poorly. She literally had tears in her eyes while I was basically apologizing on behalf of all the rude people and telling her that she 1000% deserves to be respected and that she was doing a great job. I could tell that she’d spent her day dealing with unreasonably angry people with very unrealistic expectations. She was fantastic though. You all are doing GREAT, and you are lucky to have such sweet and dedicated employees. My suggestion moving forward for holidays would be this: if you choose to be open, please consider being open for reservations only, only doing online/delivery orders, or turning off the online/delivery orders for the day. I fully believe that customers would be more satisfied with the services this way, and it would be much less stressful for all of your incredible and hardworking employees.

I've eaten here a couple of times before and those times the food was very good but the food today was a big disappointment. I ordered the sesame tofu as usual and in the past the meal was really good with abundant vegetables(carrots, snow peas, mushroom, baby corn, etc) but this time I don't know what happened. Did this place get a new chef?? I had gotten the meal to go and the top to the meal container had a big piece of plastic missing out of it. Did I get someone's used to go top? Then when I opened the broken top instead of receiving the tofu & vegetables mixed in sauce like it usually is, I get a plate with a few pieces of broccoli buried under a pile of DRY tofu. The sauce was in a container on the side. I never said put the sauce on the side...and where were the other vegetables??? I don't usually eat out and it's very disheartening to spend $14 on a meal that was so bad I could barely eat it. I guess I will have to cut my own carrots and mushrooms & try to do something to salvage this meal so it's not a total waste of money. I won't ever go here again after this disaster.*Update in response ..I appreciate you explaining what happened regarding the food I ordered yesterday. I don't eat out very much and I was aggravated that I spent money on a meal that wasn't what I thought it would be. Obviously a misunderstanding but maybe something that can be made clear on menu that lunch and dinner meals slightly different style. I picked the food up, though, it was not delivered to me but I understand now the reasoning for the hole in the lid. Also I didn't know you charged extra for more vegetables. Seems like the lunch is better option. Revising my rating b/c you took the time to respond.

The lunch sushi special was great- had the spicy tuna and Philly roll. The spicy tuna was actually spicy, and the miso that came with it was full of ingredients and very hearty. Good value!

Never a bad meal. We love the bento box but everything else we've ever tried has been good. I like the egg roll over the spring rolls. Good sushi, good stirfry and Szechuan options.

Majorly disappointed. We all got different types of chicken, and they were near impossible to cut with a knife, let alone chew. It was all tough and rubbery so we just ate the sides of rice instead. Next time, we will go to Panda Express instead. Also, one of the waiters reeked of cigarette smoke and every time would walk by our table and it was horrible. I’m 8 months pregnant so that was absolutely miserable to be breathing in the whole time. We used to come all the time, but this will be the last visit for us.

Wonderful service from the moment we stepped in. We came for lunch and everything was great. The sushi, wontons, sake, service...chefs kiss. We played with our wontons, it didn't come plated like that.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and tips given

Food was really good, server was great. HOWEVER, felt like I was at McDonalds Play yard. Just wanted a relaxing lunch after working a 12 hour shift. There was a child running around hiding under tables and taunting other children that were dining at the restaurant. Brought it to the attention of our server and she took the complaint to the owner or manager. That’s when the owner/manger came to our table to let us know she brought her kid to work and that this was his home and that he was welcome there. I have no problem with children, I have children. But there is a place and time for everything!

I love Szechuan food so I was super excited to try this spot. I ordered just the Dan Dan to be safe and it's as good as any I've had in Atlanta Szechuan spots. Will def go back and try more things

I like the dandan noodle here. Up to now, I think this restaurant is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Athens. The dishes such as spicy chicken and dandan noodle are so yummy. This place is so popular during peak hours, so if you want to be served quickly, please notice the peak hours.
