“Of all the Waffle House's I have been in the last 4 days traveling from Florida to Fort Liberty, N.C. & back to Florida; this Waffle House was the best! To the owner; you have an amazing team, from friendly service to perfect breakfast, if I am ever this way again I'm definitely stopping here. Ashley was my waitress, took my order correctly, served me with a smile & was very polite. Let's not forget the heart of the place, Crystal, my eggs, bacon, & hashbrowns were all cooked to perfection. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful food & atmosphere yal provided. Keep up the amazing work & thank you. I hope when I'm passing through yal are still here. Owner, take care of these folks, they deserve something special ?“

“ExteriorThey are located right at the Darien Bridge, if you're traveling north on Hwy 17, coming from Brunswick, you hang an immediate left as soon as you come off the bridge. There is a short single row of parking right along storefront and I noticed several times during my month-long stay in town that when they get busy, patrons sorta make their own parking spots. Lol. I don't think anyone gets towed but Fri and Sat nights make for some interesting parking solutions.InteriorI'd been here before back when it was the Spartina Grill and I don't think thr interior changed. Muted lighting (not too dark), with tables spaced nicely and a bar. There's also an semi-outdoor area on the riverfront where you can sit if you have a well-behaved pup. More on this later. FoodI ate here three times while I was in town. The first visit, I had a bluff burger (cheddar, bacon jam on the side, no onions, no pickles, extra tomatoes). The side options were plentiful and the hostess / server recommended the sidewinder fries (curly fries) but I'm one of the few individuals who doesn't like curly fries (they tend to wind up undercooked in random places) and add to that I'd eaten a LOT of potatoes / french fries since my arrival in town, so I went with a side salad, extra tomatoes. They forgot to put my bacon jam on he side (I had to peel it off to give to Gizmo), but otherwise it was a solid burger. And I had to re-request extra tomatoes on the salad. My second visit I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. The chicken was a little tough but it was seasoned really well. My final visit I had the chicken quesadilla with the seasonal vegetables as a side. This is the only meal I would not re-order. The chicken portion was tiny and I kept encountering bits of skin and bone fragments. On the one hand, I'm impressed that they appear to be deboning and preparing their chicken, in-house. But on the other hand, it really was unpleasant having to spit out chicken bone fragments. The vegetable medley was also a swing and a miss. Some of the veggies were great (zucchini and yellow squash), but the onions and tomatoes were an overcooked mess. And that reminds me, the pico de gallo was basically pureed. It was more like marinara sauce than pico. Price / ValueI think the food items are priced well. Especially in light of the riverfront dining option. Customer ServiceCustomer service varied. For the most part it was pleasant. The only real issue I encountered was the night I tried to place a phone order & I couldn't reach them. One of their listed numbers was a fax number. The other number was ringing about 20 times then fax machine screeching. Eventually, I drove up there. I could see inside clearly. The bartender entertaining a group of folks & a dog. And 4 servers were seated & hostess was standing at 1 table, all talking, laughing & occasionally petting another dog. I'd been doing 'landscaping,' cleaning & hauling bags of clothes & stuff to Goodwill all day. I felt grungy but I was tired & hungry. I was driving my Dad's old truck that had been parked for over 4 months & the battery is persnickety so I didn't want to shut the engine off. Add to that, I had Gizmo with me and he can be reactive around other dogs. He's fine if he's off leash at the dog park. He's fine if he's with J or anyone else but me. But if he's with me, it's a roll of the dice whether he's gonna stick out his chest and try to fight every dog in the immediate vicinity. Under normal circumstances, I would have been fine with leaving him in the car for 2 minutes to place an order, since I was parked near the door, but I didn't trust him to not stand up and inadvertently lock me out of the car and I didn't bring the dog carrier on this trip. “Service and food were amazing! They have such great prices already, but on top of that they have $2 beers for happy and even after happy hour they beers are still cheap. Huge portions, we had so much left overs. We will be coming back whenever we are in town! “

“Waffle House Day Shift on Venture Dr was absolutely a delightful experience. We have lived in the area over a year, and this was our first visit, and I can guarantee you that it won't be our last!! Great service, great food, and reasonably priced. Cyndi was our server, and she was right on with suggestions on the menu when I couldn't make up my mind. I had a combination of everything for breakfast. Good thing my husband was there to help me finish such a big tasty breakfast. Eggs , bacon, hashbrowns, toast, and a waffle topped off with fresh hot coffee. This establishment is clean and the staff is friendly don't pass this one up!!! My new go to for breakfast!!!! Never had a waffle, so light and tasty!!“

“The food and beverages here are quite good, but the service is even better. Pam herself basically introduced me to every person at the bar and they were all just as nice as her. I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you find yourself nearby. Even if you aren't make the trip anyway, I will certainly be back soon.“

“Exterior Located in the strip mall / plaza across from FLETC. There's tons of restaurants here (Pizza Hut, Olive Affairs, Rockstar Hotdogs & A Moveable Feast). The anchor store is Sally's Cop Shop. There's plenty of free parking. Interior Pretty bare bones, but well lit and clean. The walls are adorned with the many awards won by Chef & Owner David Ouimet. Customer Service / Ease of Ordering Casey (sp?) was our server / cashier. She was warm and welcoming and had extensive knowledge of the menu (which is always appreciated). My lunch buddy was running late, so we chatted for quite a bit before he arrived and by the time I left, I felt like Casey and I were old friends. I sampled the soup-of-the-day during my wait, and it was so delicious that I just had to order a bowl. For some reason (eco? germs?), they don't have a hand-held menu and the writing on the chalkboard, though neat - is a bit 'curly' and condensed - so I struggled to read it. It didn't help that I had a whopper of a headache and was struggling with some neck pain - lol. They take phone orders and online orders via DoorDash, etc. When dining in, you order at the register, server brings food and handles refills, then you pay at register once you've finished dining. Food (see photos) I like that there's a good bit of diversity on the menu. I knew this was a farm-to-table spot so I was expecting a lot of fresh, delicious flavors and they did not disappoint: My lunch companion had the shrimp & grits and he loved the taste so much that he ordered a second entree to to take home for dinner. My lunch buddy also had the Alfredo pasta special with blackened chicken. They're an option for grilled chicken as well. I went with a burger with cheddar cheese added and the the soup-of-the-day (Tom Kha Gai). The soup is typically garnished with cilantro and green onions but I omitted it because I'm in the soapy cilantro camp. My burger was delicious. Cooked to the perfect temperature. Juicy. And super messy because of the black garlic aioli - but worth the mess. Lol. The burger comes with a side of house-made pickles - but I omitted those. My soup (pardon the bad photo) was oh-so-tasty. Lots of chicken and mushrooms. I was so happy about the soup because I was struggling with the side options. I don't like 'dark' potato chips and every housemade chip I'd ever had was dark. I don't love pork rinds and none of the other sides would really pair well with a burger (grits, pasta salad, potato salad, brussells sprouts slaw). Price / Value I think the prices are what one would expect based on this type of fare being served. Overall If I lived in town, this would definitely be a spot I'd hit up weekly for lunch. “Went for my 1st time today. Was disappointed because they were out of hamburgers and really wanted a burger. Tried the chicken sandwich and grandson got the tenders. It was very good. Both meals together came out even cheaper than McDonalds and was much better. Hopefully next time they have burgers. Will definitely go back.“
