The foods okay. A friend and I went here one time. They have a lot of varieties of options to choose one but again, the food I got was alright. I don't see myself coming back either. 0 stars.

Good food and live music on a Saturday night right on the square. Fun!

Most sophisticated interior of any McDonough restaurant, a pleasure just to enjoy the decorand the very well-appointed bar area. Excellent service, especially our server, Belle. The menu is not large, but has all the essentials for good meals. Everything we tried was good substantial food, from the fried green tomatoes to the bourbon pecan pie. Highly recommend the experience of enjoying the ambience and the food.

We have been wanting to try PJ'S for a while now. Decided to try it for quick dinner during the week day. Location of the restaurant is excellent. They must have got a good price because they are sitting on prime real-estate in the heart of McDonough Square. The restaurant decor is dated, but the staff is friendly. Food is not bad. If you are a baby boomer this is what grandma cooked. Anyone younger you have better options. I ordered chicken fried steak. It was great, crunchy, greasy and under seasoned like grandma's. Fried okra was nicely deep fried but needed a sprinkle of salt. Mashed potatoes almost tasted like out of the box but there was a subtle texture that let you know the chef tried really hard to make'em taste like they came from a box. The meatloaf, well it brought back memories. Old habits are hard to break. The IPA selection was good though. Well, it is a decent restaurant if you are in the mood for nostalgia on a Wednesday afternoon.

I gave one star only because you have to give at least one to leave a review. Our food was actually pretty good, however our dark-haired waitress was terrible. We were the only people in the entire restaurant but it took 35 minutes to get our food. Our waitress didn’t explain the menu correctly and offered me tomato soup as a side (which our meal came with) but then I got charged for.it.Since it was taking SO long to get our food we decided we would order a drink. But our waitress was sitting behind a wall and never checked on us. So I had to go find her. We had to get up and find her several times. Then we had to get our own salt and pepper, again our waitress was MIA!! When she brought our check, I committed that our service was slow and that we had to get up and find her several times! She said, “That doesn’t bother me.” I told her that it should, since that was her job as a waitress.! The head waitress tried to apologize for our long wait and poor service while the dark-haired waitress stood behind her and mouthed smart comments!! The head waitress kept putting her hand up to the dark-haired waitress trying to get her to be quiet, to no avail!! It’s sad that an ill-trained waitress is allowed to run off your only customers!!

Wouldn’t recommend……We had our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner on Friday evening. Everyone had a wonderful time and we were very kind and generous to the staff including Paul (the owner). Paul accidentally called my phone and didn’t realize he left a voicemail which wasn’t very nice. He said…..he was dreading doing this party and thought I would be a pain in the a**** I’m actually okay with that. I wanted a perfect evening for my son and daughter in-law and all the guests. What I wasn’t okay with…..was him making fun of my husbands eye which he is blind in, do to an accident. This was very hurtful after such a nice evening. I pray for this man that he thinks before he speaks and doesn’t hurt any family again. There are other nice restaurants in the square that I would recommend before giving him your business. This is my very first negative review that I have ever written in my 60 years.

I gave this review four stars because while the food and service were great, the live entertainment was not. The music was so loud that my husband and I had to raise our voices throughout dinner just to hear each other across the table. Besides the volume, we could not discern the words to any of the songs the musician was singing. It was just a constant annoyance while trying to enjoy our meal. Although the restaurant itself was nice, I probably will not return if the live entertainment is a nightly thing there. (We were there on a Friday.)

Good American food. Food was very decent and service was friendly but not worth traveling for. Burger and coke along with fried did the trick. Menu was not ambitious nor pretentious.

Tricky Vicky is what makes this restaurant all that it is the menu was very limited and the food was just okay but the service that Vicky gave was amazing. Vicky Made a pitcher watermelon margarita. They were so good it's 10:00 a.m. the next day and I think I'm still in my happy place. I probably wouldn't return because I don't live too close to the square but I would recommend it for the experience I definitely would tell my friend and family to ask for Vicky and have her make them margaritas

Went in with my family on a Friday night, and was concerned that there was only one table of diners in the whole place (we just left three other restaurants in the square because they were packed with a waiting list). After waiting almost 15 minutes (mind you we were seated directly next to the only other inhabited table--so much for social distancing), we still hadn't been waited on for even a drink order. The waitress just kept walking by us. Ok? The host saw us looking around and did nothing, and we couldn't get anyone else's attention, so we walked out. Went to Kirby G's, waited 10 minutes for a table and had a great meal.
