I liked the creative way that they wanted diners to get the attention of a server because the signs mean that your meal doesn't have to come to a halt while you look for someone to assist you. You can flip it and continue a conversation, content in the knowledge that someone will respond once they see it. Anyway, the food was all right and the portions were generous (I remember thinking the whole head of lettuce went into my salad).

Located at Ala Moana Mall, Bubba Gumps is easy to find and parking was no issue at all. I was pleasantly suprised that lines were non existent and that we were seated right away. The restraunt was clean and the open air seating area offered great ocean views. I was disappointed that they only offered a reduced menu consisting of only several dishes. After looking it over, I settled on the coconut shrimp. The food came out quickly and looked great! The shrimp was crispy and I could definitely taste the coconut. The fries needed some salt but were great once it got some... I also enjoyed the coleslaw. It was really refreshing and had just a hint of acidity from the vinegar. All in all, I will be sad to see this place close. Hopefully they will open soon at a new location. Rated 3 stars only because their menu was significantly reduced due to the impending closure.

Sad to see another establishment close and an unsuccessful attempt to renew the lease. Last day today 2.23.2020. This was the only Bubba Gump establishment on island. I never bothered to watch the show so I was unfamiliar with the lingo and decor. But from what I remember during my one and only visit because I got the memo late, food was sub par but no complaints about the service. Although I wish I got a souvenir cup as a collectible item..

This place is closing down or moving and it shows. They are serving a limited menu, which makes sense for a closing restaurant, but the service was bad also. The waitress took our drink orders, but they were brought out by someone else and they didn't know which beer was which. We were unable to order the souvenir pilsner glasses and my coronarita didn't come with the souvenir shaker cup. The food was tasty but definitely overpriced. $14 for shrimp cocktail, $10 for side salad, and $13 for a coronarita. After our food was dropped off our waiter didn't come to check on us until we almost finished. We had no napkins or silverware on the table or ketchup for the fries when we started. When I asked why we couldn't order the souvenir glasses because I saw others with them, our waiter gave us attitude and said they were for specialty drinks only and not beer, even though the menu said they were for beer too.

We knew that Bubba Gump was moving but my mom is visiting and loves to go here. We took her at 7pm on Friday night and it was a little sad. The store was all empty and the server notified us of their limited food menu since they're closing in a couple days. Inside the seating area the decor was the same and the movie was playing like usual so once we sat down we weren't as uncomfortable as when we were waiting for a table. The wait wasn't bad, just a few minutes. The place was still pretty packed for it being close to the restaurant closing. The drinks were okay but the perks like souvenir glasses were limited to different drinks. The service was good when she could get to us, she was so busy I think since usually staff get other jobs when they hear a place is closing. The quality in the food was still there though. The bathrooms inside the restaurant are very nice and large. The parking is free but the ground floor parking is always so busy!

Great service. Incredible friendly and responsive staff. The food is okay, but there is a some what limited selection. I expected more shrimp selections. While Forest Gump was a great movie, it doesn't really lend itself to as much of a fun atmosphere for a restaurant as other movies might.
Joshua is the best waiter, hands down, that I have ever experienced in my entire life. No joke. He is indescribable. He is magical and made our dinner there the most memorable ever. His energy is amazing. He made the night so much fun with the Bubba Gump questionnaire challenge. We will miss Bubba Gump and of course, Joshua. The best! Gonna be so sad when Bubba Gump closes this month ...

I was completely devastated to hearing that Bubba Gump was closing down in Ala Moana. So...I decided that if it was going to go down in style, I was going to do the same and order something from there that I probably would want to end it on as a happy memory. I ended up getting the Shrimper's Net Catch, cajun style. I got to say, it was worth it for lunch. A little spicy, but I just couldn't stop eating it. It was addicting. Man...it really disappointed me that they couldn't at least open one somewhere close to where I live, that way, I wouldn't have to make such a trek to get there. All in all, I don't think this will affect my decision next time I plan to visit. Who knows...maybe I might go to the mainland to eat over there. But yeah, I would love to see this place make a comeback somewhere close in Oahu. It'll be a bit hard to overlook this place shutting down, but this place surely gave it a good run.

Dinner after shopping. Shame this is closing down in a couple of weeks, best to get in and enjoy the atmosphere. Great food. Beers gold. They have take home glasses with some of their drinks. The souvenir shop has already closed down.

We totally enjoyed this delicious food! Everything was perfect. Our dinner was delightful and the atmosphere was great. A must see in Hawaii for sure! The drinks, the food, the service just what we needed!

Love this place! It was always a highlight of our trip to Honolulu. So sad it’s closing down but very thankful we were able to enjoy it one last time! All the servers today were fantastic, best of luck to you all with your new jobs!
