They sell egg tarts, coconut tart and moon cakes but they are famous for their egg tarts. I bought an egg tart and a coconut tarte to try. Both were delicious not too sweet. The egg tart tasted eggy since it's an egg tarte after all but you also have a vanilla aftertaste. The crust was layers of flakes that crumbled as you bite into it. Tucked in an alley, this place is such a cool factory/shop to visit. You can see the workers make the fortune cookies and they are generous to offer freshly made cookie pieces. So many options to choose from, from the classic original to fun multicolored chocolate dipped ones. There is even green tea and strawberry flavored ones. Such a cool, fun and historic place to visit. Great for souvenirs.

Golden Gate Bakery has been in business for 50 years in SF Chinatown. Parking is difficult and there are almost always lines. You may be wondering if it's worth it and I'm here to tell you.. YES!
