Food tasted OK, but small portions for the price. I know prices went up with inflation, but everything is WAY overpriced!

I attended a baby shower for my nephew and his wife, who flew in from CA. My other nephew and his family (who live in Maui) hosted the party for about 30 family members in a private room upstairs. It's been years since my last visit here, and I remember the food always being good, and it was. We had a choice of different entrees, and I chose the Miso Butterfish. Some others had chicken karaage, but they all were delicious. They were served "Teishoku" style, so included a salad, miso soup, tempura, and six pieces of California roll. There was also vanilla ice cream for dessert. The service was good, with just two or three servers for our room. They took care of us and made sure our water and hot tea were kept filled. We were allowed two hours for our party, and although we went slightly long (what local family gathering doesn't?), we never felt rushed or pressured to clean up or leave. It's a pretty popular dining spot, especially among the local Japanese, but anyone who likes good Japanese food will find it enjoyable.

We wanted a quiet place to dine and catch up after many years of being away. We had 2 California Bentos and a combination nishime and tonkatsu. We all enjoyed and had fabulous time. Our servers were excellent at refilling the hot tea, and water. The ambience is great for conversation and the pretty Gyotaku prints are lovely to look at.

My husband and I frequent Gyotaku's Aina Haina location. It's like a family restaurant and you can always count on good food and service. Recently, we organized a group dinner for at the Gyotaku on S. King Street. Again, the food did not disappoint. We had Misoyaki Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken. The tasteful and cozy ambience brings out nostalgia for Japan, including its very neat and tidy appearance. What we also appreciate is the service and friendliness of the staff. If you are craving for a Japanese meal, Gyotaku is The Place to go. Our group wants to give Gyotaku a thumbs up!Parking: You can park on the front or side as well as the back of the restaurant.

Came here for lunch during my Bachelorette weekend with a group 10. They accommodated our group earlier than our initial reservation time. The servers were attentive and came around often to get drink orders and clear the table of empty dishes. Since we were a large group, we had pre-placed orders for the bento box set. We were very pleased with all of the different entree options that we had chosen (miso butterfish, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef). The miso butterfish has always been a favorite of mine!

What a terrible place..! Overpriced really bad food! I ended up here randomly since I was on the area and we were looking for some food, based on prices we assumed it would be decent but not even close to reality. Dry flavorless meat, plain $20 maki rolls, imitation crab dry cakes, to just name some... Not coming back again, and definitely not recommending to any friend.Service was nice though!

I have always liked the King St. Gyotaku best put of all the locations. Their food is always tasty! Customer service is good and service is fast. One thing I wish they would bring back to the lunch menu is the katsu-don. That's my favorite thing on the menu. I have been a customer for over 20 years and it's my "go to" spot whenever I'm in the neighborhood.
