If you are looking for a reprieve from the heat and humidity walking around the terminal, I would suggest stepping into Kona Brewery. The best part here is the AC and ample seating. The views of the airport runway are nice. Staff here is friendly. Basic airport bar food. Nothing spectacular or worth noting. Be prepared to pay airport prices. Burger and two beers around $55. The service was great for dinner, some food was really good other okay. The pepperoni bread was a great starter, the wings were a little small but good. We had a couple of pizzas that were good but the Pua’a pork tacos were really watery due to the salsa, almost inedible. The pastrami sandwiches were just okay, not much pastrami and the pickles were really strong. Nice views on the patio.

If you are visiting the big island, this is definitely a place to stop at and try. I got the pork tacos and chicken and rice and they were both the best food I have tried yet. The beer samples were good, especially the passion fruit one. I recommend trying this place at least once while you visit.
