Food is prepared in advance so some of the fried items aren't as fresh as expected. Musubi is on point. Salmon is a little salty but rice is perfectly done.

Came here twice and I kinda prefer it over musubi cafe iyasume? I prefer my musubis to not have too much rice and this place has a great ratio of fillings to rice! I'm only docking one star due to both times I've came, some items were sold out/missing and it seems like they were done making the items for the day so I didn't get to try some of the more interesting flavors :(

Quick, affordable, delicious, healthy breakfast options early in the morning. A gem in town. The shop is so adorable!

Would 100% come back for the musubi! Only complaint is that I wish they were bigger because I can't get enough! It's the right amount of stuffing to rice ratio, and I like how it's neatly packed in seaweed. We were indifferent about the spring rolls! Could have used that $ to order another saboro pork! This is probably our favorite musubi place! Skip the ones near Waikiki beach and come here! There are lots of street parking spots a little ways down the road.

I love coming to Ma'ona Musubi to grab something quick and fast! It's really small and right next door to Baker Dudes! If you blink, you'll miss the shop! Ma'ona Musubi has really cheap musubis and bentos to go. Everything is premade so come early before the rush so you have options to pick from! I've come a little past the lunch rush previously and they did not have as many options compared to the most recent time I went around 11am! I got the Saboro Pork, Egg and Spam musubis, and a summer roll this time around. The egg and spam musubi was good! You can't go wrong with that! The saboro pork musubi is so yummy. I can't really describe the flavor other than the fact that you just need to try it! They put crunchy lettuce with it so that you get a nice crunch when eating it. Quick heads up, all these musubis are premade so the nori can be soft and chewy - I personally love this texture and don't mind it but if you're the type that like the crunchy texture of nori, it's just something you should know! I noticed recently that they also had small summer rolls too! It's just one summer roll cut in half but it's a cheap option for when you have those summer roll cravings! It was yummy and had lots of lettuce in it! They had a tiny bit of noodles too. Their peanut sauce was really yummy! If you're in a rush and just looking for something fast, cheap, and filling - this is the place to go!

Bought a bunch at a whim at the Kaka'ako Farmer's Market and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. They had some traditional onigiri fillings as well as some unique ones, but I felt like the fish was well seasoned and the filling amount was perfect. The people at the stand were really friendly too. Highly recommend!

Easy, quick and affordable. This downtown spot is central to many office buildings and is a popular spot to grab musubis, poke bowls, and bentos. Despite being a small space, there are plenty of food options to choose from. I tried a poke bowl and two musubis for under $15. Not a bad price given the fact that it is downtown. Definitely will swing by again during a lunch break.*No seating indoors or outdoors. This is a grab and go spot.Parking: There's street parking one street over as well as parking in the lot in front of the nearby post office (meter).

I discovered this musubi and little bento place at the Saturday farmers market. Again, I have to emphasize the unfriendly service, but I don't blame the islanders for being sick of rude demanding tourists. So I had furikake spam musubi and it was like $2.50 for the perfect portion for me. I love that it is not spam on top of rice but it was sandwiched between the rice. Perfect for little something to go in between exercising.

Go ahead google Musubi and you'll basically see images of Spam. Here at Ma'ona Musubi they make this ultimate portable local favorite delicacies in countless variety of ingredients the only way you'll rule out one is that it's sold out lol!!This little spot isn't basic at all and that's what makes them so special yes they have Spam...with our without egg, Spam furikake, Spam Curry, but Shiso is my personal favorite with Kombu preferable brown rice. You can also find Chicken Katsu, Spicy Ahi, Mentaiko and even couple Vegan items like Miso Kale abd Kombu. They do have a few bentos as well if that's more your craving and all this at such reasonable prices.Parking is quite a challenge so if you do crave that yummy portable goodness follow them on Instagram @maonamusubi as they do get around on the local Farmers Market (KCC, Kaka'ako and Pearlridge) Love that there's a self service condiment area with wasabi, shoyu, utensils, napkins and paper bag so you just take what you need and be on your way as it's a great place to grab a quick snack as you're strolling around as this find is simply fulfilling which I just found out is what Ma'Ona means omg!Thank you!

Miso ume (pickled plum, seaweed, hon-mirin sauce) - very plummy. This flavor wasn't for me. Spicy ahi - enjoyed this one a lot! Miso kale brown (sautéed kale, red miso sauce/ brown rice) - nice miso flavor. The sautéed kale reminds me of the flavor of Chinese preserved turnip slice. Shiso kombu brown (simmered kelp, ground red perilla leave/brown rice. Enjoyed this one too. Liked this a lot more than musubi's. Loved the texture of the sushi rice and and it was the perfect amount of rice vinegar.

Our experience wasn't the best however, they made do and I could tell that this place would probably be great if we came earlier. My family arrived about 30 minutes before they closed and they were apparently already shutting everything down for the day. We asked for some items off the menu and they obliged but didn't seem overly excited about it. Once we got the food, very shortly after ordering, we were very pleased. We got a couple of bowls and musibi's (what little was available) and thought everything was great. There is a tremendous selection of different types of musubi available for a "grab and go" type setup. Unfortunately, since they were closing there was little to choose from. I'd go back to get the full experience for sure.

Best place on the island for a diverse and delicious spam musubi selection. Perfect for lunch in the city, or a brief snack otherwise. You also can't beat the price!
