"The deliciousness that even Kyushu locals would approve of!! Lunch at the 'Gamadashi Udon', a Hakata-style noodle shop that opened in my neighborhood. If you're from Kyushu, you'd probably start with the gobou (burdock root) tempura! I've gone here WAY too many times so a review is long overdue.... For the price/portions, this is a STEAL. I always order a regular size Niku udon. (I cant even imagine how big a large is because this itself is filling). The broth is just so rich and light. The tempura is such a good touch too. It's self serve so it's pretty simple: You grab a tray and say what udon you want and pick out your own tempura or onigiri. The Mentai Butter & Obama Udon tasted like udon in pasta sauce. It was really flavorful. However, I prefer the traditional style udon, so I'll be trying this the next time I go back. The restaurant is cafeteria style where you have to order first before you sit down.
