We were looking for some late evening food away from the main downtown area and decided to give this place a try. We ordered spam musubi, chicken wings, a BBQ mixed plate and a bento plate. Portions were great, the mac salad was the best we had tried all week, musubi was big and the meat and fish was flavorful. It was our favorite find of the week & a completely different vibe than what we had experienced the rest of the week. We took our food to go and ate back at our place. It was great. We'll definitely be back.

We were a bit disappointed with this place as it was highly rated. We got the short ribs and garlic shrimp combo. The shrimp were pretty good but the ribs were much more fatty than they usual and there was not a whole lot of meat on it. We also got the fried chicken and crispy rice combo. There was very little chicken compared to how many noddles we received. The noodles were also just ok and a little bland. Overall it was ok but it was a little pricey for the quality of food and atmosphere of the restaurant.

We were visiting Kona Hawaii and wanted lunch. Yelp showed several nearby places that weren't open until 11. It was a little before 11 and this place was open/served breakfast. Since we love breakfast anytime of day, we chose here. Simple, local Hawaii style restaurant. Chinese staff and they serve Chinese food, local plate lunches and breakfasts, and cater. Hubby opted for pancakes and spam breakfast. Not listed, but it came with eggs, too. Good deal for 8.99. Pancake was fluffy and ok. I opted for the 2 eggs with choice of meat and selected bacon. Came with 5 pieces of nice crispy bacon! Good deal for 6.99. Some of the other meat choices were spam, Portuguese sausage, and about 3 more. Our cashier was polite, service was fast enough. Place is clean and spacious. Everyone coming were locals. Noticed they passed on the Mac salad. Not sure if it was coincidence or it was indicative of the Mac salad... Plenty of people were getting take out, a few were eating in. Busy enough so this must be a go to for the folks who live in the area. Would come here again for a quick bite to eat.

Yuck. We ordered a grilled mahimahi, mochiko chicken, loco mocos and french fries. Everything was gross. I had a gnat in my rice, the eggs tasted weird (according to my kids) they poured raw garlic all over the old tasting fish and the oil the food was fried in tasted horrible, like they haven't changed it ever.NO ONE in our party ate much. We all picked at our food because it just wasn't good. I had one piece of orange colored mochiko chicken (why was it ORANGE?!) and couldn't eat anymore because it tasted weird and the aftertaste was horrid. (I can still taste it, an hour later!)Hubby went to the register to tell the owner that the food wasn't very good but she started yelling and screaming about how they are just a small family business. She did not apologize or try to remedy the problem, just yelled at us in front of their 4 other customers. Hubby explained that the fish they handed him tasted old and that he didn't want the garlic mahi, he ordered the grilled mahi. She argued aggressively with him and told him it was the same thing. He showed her on their posted menu (it says grilled mahi & garlic mahi) and told them he wanted the one on the menu in the window (it specifically says: grilled mahi.) she started yelling that it was the same thing as the garlic one. If it is, why do they call it two different things? And why don't they COOK the garlic? Who wants to eat raw garlic straight out of a prechopped garlic bought-from-costco container? She then started yelling in Chinese to the cooks in the back, who also yelled their responses in Chinese. They went back and forth like this for a while until we decided to just get up and leave.Unprofessional behavior from an owner of an eating establishment, and disgusting tasting food from a place that has the gall to label themselves a restaurant. We dumped all of our uneaten food, which I hate. Not just because it was $90 worth of junk & I feel ripped off because it was so bad, but because I hate wasting food, period. If you're hungry, I would skip this place and go elsewhere. If you like eating slop in a dirty restaurant & being yelled and screamed at this is YOUR spot.

The worst Roast Duck in Kona, hardly any meat mostly bones and hard as rocks wish I took pictures of it.

One of the best meals we had on the big island. Big bang for your bucks. Huge portion! This place do not skimp on the protein. We got so much food that it last us two meals. Highly recommended.

This place is the best bang for your bucks! The price varies around $15 to $20 per person and you will leave the place FULL & satisfied. My husband got $14.99 Crispy Chicken on Soft Noodles (instead of Crispy Noodle) and that was the best decision I would recommend. The noodles were stir-fried with mixed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, squash, napa cabbage) -- which balanced out the meal so well. I got $17.99 New York Steak with Garlic Shrimps. The steak was cut into bite-sized pieces, which I really appreciated but it was very overcooked and lacked of flavors. The garlic shrimps on the other hand was very flavorful. The dish also came with some macaroni and fresh chopped cabbages, which was a bit bland to me but it was still alright and good for the value. I would try another dish next time though for a better flavoring. The cashier lady who also took our order was super nice and welcoming. The place could sit about 7-8 small parties and great for a casual/quick meal.
