My wife and I went on a Friday night before our movie. It was a redemption attempt after a 5 year boycott.I agree with the general consensus of the critical reviews: the food (and especially the beans) is bland overall. If you use the salsa the flavor is good, but it's like they are afraid of salt.The service is "meh." Not many Mexican choices in Kona, but this is your best bet if you agree that Taco Bell is not actually Mexican food. Portions are large if you go for the burritos. Ask for the salsa hot and you won't be disappointed.

With limited choices here in Kona, it’s nice to have a consistent. We love the food, service and chill atmosphere. Plenty of inside and out seating. Many people do to-go orders. Steak quesadilla and chicken chimichanga are delicious. Staff are always kind and helpful. Almost always a line and wait is usually under 20min.
