Boo! Not open the entire week we’re here. Google maps still says it’s open.

Showed up to a sign on the door saying "closed for the week" even though I checked the website beforehand and it didn't have anything stating this. Very inconvenient.

We visited the Feeding Leaf Kitchen on our last morning in Kona and arrived right after they opened. They didn't have everything out yet, but the staff was so nice and let us know about a few items that were about to come out and while we offered to wait a bit longer they insisted on heading to the back to grab some of the items for us. We ended up leaving with two heavy containers of food and had to hold back from ordering even more, it all looked absolutely amazing and was a great value. Once we got back to our hotel we had a little feast on our lanai and enjoyed sharing all the great items we bought. Our favorites were the fried chicken and spam musubi. We wish we had visited this spot earlier in the trip so we could have tried more of the dishes, but we'll know better for next time!

The food was delicious. We went for breakfast and many locals were getting their lunchbox made. The musubi (sp?) and Hawaiian breakfast were fantastic and filling. The family owned restaurant was very welcoming and everyone was kind and helpful.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing place!! All of the food is legitly delicious. I'm rating this place a 5-stars because of how unexpected this place was in terms of their variety of foods, delicious of food, and their amazing staff. We originally just got the Ube pancake and the loco Moco + Ala carte of the ginger miso pork... but then we added on the Korean fried chicken, fried spam musubi, and I think a few others. The Ube pancake was perhaps the least appetizing, too sweet for my pallete. But this shop just feels so homey and of so much local goodness, you can't go wrong here. I came right at opening, so I had my pick of foods, but things look like they do run out and it does get packed about 30minutes after opening, so be mindful of that. Overall, the store is really a 4-stars if I were just to rate the food, the overall experience was a 5. There's something special about this place that makes you feel happy.

We arrived at this business at 12:30 PM on a day when both Google and the sign on their door said they were open until 1:00 PM. They took one look at us and said we're closed and not interested in serving you. It was not clear whether they were racist or just choosing to close half an hour early for no reason. Other people who didn't look like us were allowed to enter after we were turned away.

Really great food at affordable prices

Had no problem walking in on a Friday morning. The guy who owns this place is really friendly. He said he closes up once he sells out, so definitely try and go early. We tried a few of the different musubis, but the OG spam musubi was the best. I wouldn't recommend wasting time/money buying any of the others.

Cheap, good eats!! We definitely come back again. We got this spam katsu musubi, the Umi musubi, and the fried chicken for less than $8.

What "okazuya" serves re-heated frozen shrimp from Costco as their shrimp tempura? What a joke. Hey owners.....if you are too LAZY to cook, DON'T RUN A RESTAURANT! Also, your "chow fun" is not even close.....fettuccine noodles? Really? This place is an embarrassment.

Attention, not reviewing the food, but this place is never open. I'm here for 10 days and still can't get there to try the food. They say they are open 6am to around noon. Can't even get them on the phone to confirm the hours on their answering machine, Yelp, etc. hope you have better luck

Great local okazuya foodstuffs. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious other okazuya items were ono. similar to Hilo Lunch Shop. We'll visit again in next trip to Kona

This is for locals by locals but everyone is welcome! Delicious flavors ...the Saimin is so good. And friendly staff. If you want to try some authentic local (breakfast or lunch) food, at a fair price this is a great experience.

This place rocks! Better quality than most places, yet the prices are so reasonable. Best loco moco I had on the island.

We picked up some musubi for our hiking trip and it was decent. Very thinly sliced spam so it wasn't as balanced with the thick rice.
