Located inside Disney's Aulani. Came here for the character breakfast and the experience was great, but food was underwhelming. Loco Moco was good, but everything else was forgettable.

We had done this when it was a buffet a few years ago. I found this time totally underwhelming. Three characters was all that were walking around. I’d expect at a character breakfast a few more characters and some entertainment. Aunty used to come out and sing and play with the kids, but nothing this time. My 11 year old was charged as an adult (kids only up to 9?) and all she wanted was Minnie waffles. So basically she ate the same as my 9 year old but was charged more. $220 for 3 kids and one adult for breakfast with the premium to see Minnie, stitch and Pluto. Disney has really lost the magic when you think you’re paying for an “experience” and it’s this lacklustre. Save your money and catch them at the character greets around the hotel.

This restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. The koi pond next to the seating was spot on and Disney characters walk past and wave as you eat. Unfortunately, this was all a cover up for the overpriced and underwhelming dinner. There were multiple food options on the three course menu so we were very excited to all have our own choices.First course: The caprese salad was excessively large for one portion and very unflavored. The caesar salad was basic dry and unimpressive and could be found at any restaurant. The kids vegetable bites were not freshly cut and could have been served with wings.Second course: The fresh fish of the day was Ahi. Cooked as listed, medium rare but came cool and unflavored. The rice was absolutely terrible especially when expecting Polynesian cuisine. It was dry, overcooked, and under flavored. Better rice can be found at the local ABC store. The bok choy was an afterthought and impossible to bit through. This being a favorite vegetable of mine was very disappointing.Third course: dessert was beautiful and delicious. It definitely helped lift up the mood after the beginning of the meal but I would not return just for the dessertService: the waitress was not as professional as I would have expected and went it to detail about personal family stories instead of recommending food. It was my birthday and the hostesses addressed whether we were celebrating an event but the waitress never recognized that. Also, we had to remind her of my daughter’s milk twice which didn’t end up coming till dessert. We are here for 5 days so hopefully this isn’t what Disney is all about at the Aulani

As long as you make a reservation, you can enjoy the best service at a very reasonable price. Although I was a guest and not a hotel guest, I entered the restaurant without making a reservation and was seated by chance. (I never thought I'd be able to eat it at a restaurant.)Before taking our seats, we were able to take a picture with Mickey. The staff will take a photo for you with your smartphone. A professional photographer will also take your photo and ask you if you want to buy it for a fairly high price, but of course you can decline (I didn't buy it because I was satisfied with the photos I took with my smartphone). The meal was ample and at $50 it felt cheap.During the meal, various characters came to my seat and I was able to enjoy the meal without getting bored.

We did the character breakfast last week. Great experience. Kids had a blast. All of our food was delicious. The loco moco was the best I have ever had. We had dinner a few days later. Another wonderful meal. The salmon was amazing.

The food was great. The ambience was comfy and cozy. Nicely done interiors. Having dinner next to a koi pond was unbeatable. The service was superb. Very attentive. Disney quality as expected and more. Didn't disappoint.

Trying to be fair, Our first night we ate at Ama Ama. And when you compare the 2 they don't come close.. Ama Ama is fine dining at its best .While dinner at Makahiki is more along the lines of a Lone Star, good food a family friendly place wit7h great service and we left stuffed, lots of food the portions of the 3 course prefix menu are huge. Had we ate here first, before Ama Ama we would have been head over heels about the place, but Ama Ama is heads above Makahiki, but still Makahiki is still 5 stars for service, food and the Disney experience. If you take away the Hawaiian theme looks like the Crystal palace inside.

we were staying next door to aulani, at marriott’s ko olina resort, and we decided to celebrate valentine’s day early. they had same day reservations available and they gave us little disney pins with customized “celebrating valentines” on it. so cute! the three course meal choices we selected were: wedge salad, filet mignon, and the pineapple crumble pie & sorbet. it was $75 per person, which is pretty pricey, but the food was really good, the atmosphere was cozy and airy, and we had a wonderful time. i’d love to go back!

Breakfast: Breakfast with character was a great experience, and the food was delicious even trying things we wouldn't normally eat. It was fun, and the service was great.Dinner: was a nice and relaxing experience with no characters, but the atmosphere was great, and the service was awesome as well. The food and dessert were so delicious we asked if it was possible to take an extra order to go! (But sadly no )

Overall an excellent experience!!It’s true that you, in very Disney fashion, wait in lines before your breakfast! We enjoyed tofu scramble and eggs Benedict.I would only comment that the tofu scramble was under seasoned to my taste. I asked for hot sauce on the side. Both portions were huge and we were quite stuffed by the end.Vegetarian options: Tofu scramble

I visited again because the pre-coronavirus meal was good, but the food selection was poor. The characters were cute, but it's a shame.malasadayogurt mini parfaitIt was my main choice. The malasada was delicious, but the yogurt was so sweet that no one could finish it.As for the main dish, the omelet was not good with herbs.Eggs Benedict is average. Other hotels are better.I tried a fried egg with my favorite egg dish, but the bacon was way too cooked...Mickey waffles are cute, but the kids won't eat them...The poke bowl and acai bowl at Aulani are better. You can also use cut fruit, so I would like to add it to the main menu.
