When we came in the first time, we did get some looks from the locals but we made the effort to interact and they treated us like friends they just hadn't met before. (Got hugs on our way out!) The bartenders were friendly and did a great job for us. We ended up going back several times with a positive experience every time we stepped through the door. We will be heading to Kehei again in December and are looking forward to hanging a bit at Kahale's.“
