Sad but it is closed up. We enjoyed coming here for years. People inside said they hope to open back up sometime in 2022. It would be nice if the google page didn’t say open along with their hours. We wasted time heading over there without calling ahead. You know, “if it is on the web it must be true” ?

This restaurant is CLOSED! We stopped by here after looking at the menu and it looked completely abandoned. We then tried to call and the number was disconnected. Don't make the same mistake we did!!!!

Get your hours updated. Twice we came and you were closed. I understand Covid, but even more reason to update them. Just frustrating in a tourist town.

It had been decades (Here I go again, dating myself) since I last visited Maui. I remembered it to be much more chill than Oahu, but I didn't recall that it's so low key that finding a bite to eat past 9 PM is nearly impossible. I learned this lesson the hard way on my first day back to the island, starving at 10ish at night. Luckily for us, we found Lahaina Coolers...via yelp. What a cute place! Get a table outdoors - it's a perfect setting for eating al fresco on the island. First of all, KUDOS to these guys for serving food past 10 PM. I seriously felt like it was a miracle to find a place to eat at that time...and good food to top it all off! I'm not talking about bar/finger food/appetizers at this time - we were served full meals. I'm not a vegetarian, but their Coconut and Curry Stirfry(Vegan) was ONO - I highly recommend it. Immediately at arrival, we were welcomed by positive energy and a happy environment. The service was also unforgettably pure aloha. The staff was extremely friendly and warm, especially our server. He was THE MOST friendly waiter EVER. Hands down. He told us his story about how he visited Maui, fell in love with the island, ended up calling it home, and working for the restaurant. It was super evident that he absolutely loved his job there and his jubilant aura poured so much more aloha on us. In fact, a night or two later, he saw my husband and I walking by the restaurant and he yelled out to us, greeting another warm, "Hello." You can't beat this kind of genuine amiableness - it's so heartfelt and contagious! Our first night on Maui got off on a perfect start at Lahaina Coolers. We will most definitely return.

Creative eats for cheap for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Charming open air restaurant with a surfing theme. This is a great local bar setting.

Cozy little place. Loved the food and drinks but specially LOVED their homemade salsa! Brought some back to L.A. and I am cautiously eating it because I don't want it to run out!!!!

Always a great place for breakfast and bloodys. Their signature hot sauce is fantastic. I think Tony has been my server every time I've been here and always has a new joke.

Risotto was super delicious! So was the macadamia nut crusted fish. And the crab wontons. And it’s nice that it’s a bit off of Front Street - way more chill

Had dinner here on a Monday night and came back Tuesday morning for breakfast. Only wish we had discovered this place earlier in our time on the island. It is by far the best in Lahaina. The Whalers Stew was full of fresh seafood and vegetables in a spicy red sauce....perfection! The Loco Moco with pork is the best anywhere. Try it with their signature hot sauce. Jennifer and Tony were our servers...they believe in this place for very good reason. Everyone in my family found something from the menu to rave about. Totally reasonable prices. I'll be back again and again!

This restaurant was certainly the best meal we had on Maui. Professionally prepared delicious cuisine and good service. Outdoor dining was wonderful. We were looking for something that was not down on Front Street since most were crowded and nosiy. this place was a couple blocks off Front and was just an unpretentious looking place. The name even made me wonder what it would be like. We were greatly surprised.

We walked in behind a Japanese American family. The family went to sit down and were bombarded with racist abuse from a regular. The language was shocking - they had their children with them- it was some backward racism about the war and Japan! They walked out, as did we. The bar staff said nothing.

due to a combination of my poor planning and...well that's pretty much it, i ended up making a reservation for new years eve dinner here like 2 days before (me, wife and 3 teenage daughters). honestly if i were going to do it again and planened 6 months ahead of time i'd make the same reservation. when i called to make the res, it was so loud that the guy answering the phone couldn't understand my name and ended with a "well, no worries, i got you with 5 people at 7". so i showed up and walked into the place and there was a handmade "reserved" sign on a table on the patio, so we just sat there - when the bartender came out of the kitchen he was like "oh yeah, that's for you guys". food was awesome, vibe was super laid back and we really felt like we got a local feel which is what we wanted. not sure why this place wasn't packed but next time i'm in maui, i'm there!
