We enjoyed our time at the tiptop. It was small, clean, efficient. It was really nice to have the room open where you could walk in instead of having to go check in.

OMG, the Ox Tail Soup is fantastic! Get a large with extra meat. I traveled from Las Vegas and Tip Top was top of.my dining agenda. It delivered. LOVED IT! Definitely a locals place with a very friendly, homey place.

Haven't been here since 2019, well it hasn't changed; the parking lot is full and the tables was almost to capacity. Tip Top is nostalgic, memories, flooding back to my childhood days. Took the Cousin here for breakfast. She ordered the grand slam and pancakes and I ordered the small order of oxtail soup. My other cousin, on Oahu mentioned I should try the oxtail soup. It was good, if you're allergic to peanuts, that's not for you.. The broth had a hint of star anise and five Chinese spices; ok I'm not an expert on spices; that's what I tasted. Bowl with fill with long rice, slices of won bok cabbage, sprinkle of peanuts, match-slices of sliced bamboo shoots, and green onions, accompanied with small plate with a big scoop of white rice, side of grated ginger and Chinese parsley and an extra small empty plate for your oxtail discarded bones. Atmosphere is casual a lot of local people and visitors as well .

This is where the locals come to eat and it is with good reason. The food was fantastic. But that ox tail soup is a must. The broth was so deep and flavorful. I highly suggest you order extra glass noodles. Tammy got the cocunit/banana pancake and it was amazing. It was light and fluffy and cooked perfectly. I got the chicken fried steak and it was cooked perfectly and although I am accustomed to eating it with the traditional white gravy, they serve it here with the Loco Moco gravy and it was really good with this spin to this dish. The eggs were fresh and the yolks were orange and delicious We also had to get the ox tail soup as we could smell it all around us. The wait staff have their jobs down to a well oiled routine and we were stuffing our faces quickly. I got on the plane back to Oregon and all I could think about was that Ox Tail soup. If you come to Kaua'i, you have to have to have to come to Tip Top and get the Ox Tail soup. You will thank me on this.

Very busy but got seated super quick because someone was leaving right as we got here. It was completely packed! I would expect a 15 to 30 minutes wait. The food was served fast for how busy they were. It tasted great. Highly recommend their pancakes. They serve a mixture of traditional American breakfast and more Hawaiian/Asian options too.

Good and fast service. My tummy was happy lol. One day we went I had their bento, while my sis had the grandslam which comes with pancakes (she chose banana pancakes), and my bro had the loco moco. Second time we went I had their small size oxtail soup. So ono!

When in Hawaii... Eat where the locals eat! The best food comes from the " hole in the wall" restaurants. Definitely a must try! You have to be an adventurous eater to try the oxtail soup, delicious and hearty. The breakfast is amazing! You can get your choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, or bacon. My all time favorite that brought me back here two more times, was Grandpa Ota's made from scratch pancakes, the fried rice with eggs, and Portuguese sausage. It gets soooo busy that the waitresses try their best to keep up but definitely friendly. I would give my arm to go back lol. Check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Fast and efficient. Definitely a great place to try to blend in with the locals. Oxtail soup had plenty of oxtail but I found the broth too salty for my taste. Breakfast plates are solid but I didn't find them anything particularly special. A great local diner experience. My favorite things were the "to go" Lillikoi cheesecake and banana cream pie they sell at the front from a outside vendor.

One of our favorite breakfast places on Kauai. Came here originally for breakfast fried rice, but everything is amazing. Love the service here too- feels like just post WWII Hawaii to me.
