Snow Halo Halo

“Indulging in Korean snow ice cream was an absolute delight! The delicate flakes of shaved ice were like a fluffy blanket, melting on my tongue with every bite. Topped with fresh fruit, sweet condensed milk, and chewy mochi, every spoonful was a delightful surprise. It was the perfect treat to cool down on a hot day, and I can't wait to enjoy it again!“

“I had very high hopes for this place.A few weeks ago, I stopped by for the first time and got beef curry and gyoza to go. It was spectacular! Decided to go for the ramen next visit. And I did.I wanted to get the thickest, most robust flavored soup, so I got the "Special" tonkotsu black garlic ramen.I really liked the visual presentation. Very vibrant, neat and appetizing. As with most ramen takeouts, the soup and noodles were packaged in separate containers. Before pouring the soup into the ramen bowl, I took a little sip.It was a tad disappointing, as I had such high hopes for this shop. The soup was a bit on the bland side. I guess the fried garlic chips are supposed to carry the flavor but there's nothing else. What I did notice was a slight slimy texture and a hint of odor. This probably indicates that inferior pork bones were used to draw the soup stock. For those of you who don't know how tonkotsu soup is made, ignorance is bliss. If you knew exactly what's in it, you may be traumatized! So, I'll spare you the details. What I will say is that hours of boiling the pork bones is needed to extract the umami, but other ingredients are crucial too. Grated ginger, garlic cloves, salt and pepper are some of the common items that are used. Despite the shortcomings of the tonkotsu soup, I have high hopes that Rakumen could be a top contender in the ramen world if they tweaked their soup just a little bit. Use better quality pork bones would be one. Adding a bit more flavor would be the other. *I had some leftover soup, so I added a little grated ginger and garlic with a few drops of la-yu to it and already, it was about as good as the other ramen shops in town. I give them 4 stars despite the seemingly harsh critique of their tonkotsu, because of their prompt and courteous service. But most of all, I believe that they will only get better.Looking forward to visiting again to up them to 5 stars!“

Meet Tea 觅茶 Bubble Tea • $$

“This location seems cursed, businesses don't seem to stay long. But, I deeply hope Meet Tea can hold this spot down.Drinks: I've had a few tea options, and their passion fruit lemon tea is so good. Tart with slices of fresh lemon and pulverized lilikoi added in. It's not a syrup only flavoring. When I first went, the little menu at the register had "brown sugar" marked off, so I assumed they no longer had boba, and got the lychee bits. The lychee was standard, good flavor and chew. I was wrong though, they DO have boba! It's soft, and has a mild flavor, not too sweet. Food: lots of options, but I've only tried the lemon peel gushers and the moon cake. Both were good. The mooncake was huge! The gushers always surprise me on cost, but it's comparable to noms, so I guess that's the standard now. I hope to go back to try their jars of crackseed.Service/environment: service is great! The girl at the register is pretty soft spoken, but helpful, and works fast. The shop itself is clean but honestly, very room temp? I think the ac should be bumped up a little and maybe music turned on (the silence is deafening). If those two items were adjusted I'd hang out here to do some reading or drawing in the afternoons.“

“I was running errands last night and decided that I had wanted a sweet treat. I stopped at Jamba Juice for my usual, chocolate moo'd. I let the girl at the register know of my almond allergy. She went straight back to tell the person making my Smoothie about my allergy and ensured that there was no cross contamination. The store was clean and quiet as it was at the end of the evening. I will be back!“

“I went here with my friends once, and after that, I couldn't stop coming here. I have spent like $500 here, and it was worth every penny. The staff are very kind, always smiling and being patient, the drinks are amazing, and it is a very cozy space. It is one of my favorite places to go, and if I ever want to go out with my friends, I always come here. I have lived in hawaii for 8 years, and I have gone to countless boba shops, but this is by far my favorite one. If you like sweet things, I recommend a lychee fruit tea with lychee jelly and boba, but it is very sweet so you might want to get 75% or 50% sweetness. If you don't like sweet that much, I recommend a hong kong tea with boba and chia seeds. I also recommend the cookies and cream milk tea with oreo falls and boba. If it's your first time coming there, then I recommend a brown sugar milk tea with boba. Also make sure to put in your phone number when you pay so that you can gain stars. You get one star for every purchase over 5 dollars, and if you have 12 stars, you get 5 dollars off. They never send you any text messages unless you get a star if you are wondering. I also recommend the chicken chipotle quesadilla if you want food, but if you are going to get one of their toast options or the nachos, be prepared because they don't look like the picture. They are good don't get me wrong, but a lot of people get too hyped up and then get disapointed when its not like the picture. The staff is also very quick when they are making their drinks, and I have never had to wait more than a minute to get my drinks. The food takes a little bit longer, but it is still pretty quick. Overall, it is amazing, and it is my favorite place to go to in the entire world. I would highly recommend that you visit.“

“I love Teapresso! I normally go to their location in Wahiawa, but this spot is very convenient if you go grocery shopping as it is located right inside the Times Supermarket in Mililani. It's very quick and I haven't seen super long lines. The staff is always very friendly. The area has ample parking space since it is part of a shopping plaza. Good, simple boba!“
