“After a long awaited visit I was able to stop by Saucy Mama's for a delicious homemade lava cake. The service was superb and the food was very tasty. I am a sticker for food presentation as well and they did this excellently as well. I ate the fresh flowers garnished on the top of my soup and dessert while sipping my smoothie. No pressure but two girls got our orders quickly and my chai was delicious. The pastries looked super tempting and sit down customers had only positive comments. Although small it is quite charming and welcoming. “Wife and I recently discovered this food truck via “happy cows” website for vegan/vegetarian food. Maybe one of the best values on the Big Island! Food is made to order - so you can get spicy versus typical “sweet” here. Portion sizes are very generous. All very fresh ingredients. My pad thai (choice of meats or tofu) was great. Enjoy!”

By far the best Thai food I've ever had and that goes for everything I ordered. Both dishes I can eat as two meals and the avocado rolls are the perfect appetizer. “Super friendly staff and a very welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place to have a casual dinner, or just read a book at the bar, Kaleos has the best vibes. This has become my 2-3 times a week place to just exist around people as I housesit for my dad on the rural part of the island. Food is good, prices are right, and the bartenders are super friendly. Also if you’re a dessert person, definitely try the lilikoi cheesecake.”

“If you are on your way to Volcano National Park and want a bite to eat before heading in or something to take with you while there then you'll definitely want to stop here. We got the tuna and turkey sandwiches. Not only did they taste good but they were stuffed to the brim! My husband and I shared one & the kids shared the other. That was plenty, plus some chips, for all of us. We wished we were closer to be able to come back and try more.”

“Tacos are pretty good, but it's very slow. Last time we waited for nearly an hour (55 minutes) to the point that when I approached to see what was going on they tried to take my order. EDIT: THEY TEACHED OUT AND GAVE ME A REFUND. Obviously they care about their customers. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and raise the rating until next time.”

I came in right before close and was met with happy, friendly, and helpful employees.The menu was simple and clear, which is appreciated. $12 for single, $17 for double, or $22 for triple. All options for Poke and sides are on display.Kapua was the one who helped me. She noticed I was having a hard time choosing, and offered samples. I might have got lucky, but she let me split my order. So, I got the double, but got to split two sides, and four smaller portions of Poke.I got the house spicy mayo, Hawaiian ahi, Kalbi ahi and the aku Hawaiian. I got the Ula mash and the mac-n-cheese for sides. Everything was great. The double was big enough for two, but on a good day, I could eat it all myself.Now for the embarrassing part. As soon as I got to the car, it was devoured by everyone. This was supposed to be a pre-dinner snack, but after a long day at the beach........no photos were taken in its pristine glory.We come out to visit family every few months, and my goal is to try new places each time. I'm going to have to make another stop at Ellie Girl Poke this trip.I took a photo of the plate after it had been partially ravaged, but it doesn't do the shop justice, so I'll have to go back and get a photo of a new plate.Edit: I DID go back the next day, and it was even better the second time. They had a couple more flavors out that weren't out the first time.”

“Awesome drive in walk up window service style food. The best French fries around and tasty burgers. They have local favorites as well including breakfast. Outside dining only or food to go. Popular with the early morning blue collar workers and always seems busy for breakfast and lunch. We went before the lunch crowd showed up so service was pretty quick. It was a little more expensive than I would have expected. Two burgers, 2 fries, and 2 sodas was around $35. However, I will definitely be back and look forward to trying their Loco moco next time.”

“Great variety of food, hot and ready no wait. Our go to stop for breakfast and a bento for lunch on a work day. Portions are good, price is reasonable. If your from Oahu and like Marian's fish tempura, Hiro's is better. If you need catering pans, this is our go to place. chicken katsu, fish tempura and nori chicken. You need small to large bentos for your kids sports teams, this is the place to go.”
