I got asked if I'm going to be leaving a tip when I handed them my card in the drive through for one drink. Kind of forward of her to do that. This is why I don't come here often. Nobody wants to feel pressured to tip anybody . That's a bad business model. I would have left a tip if I thought my service was excellent.

Coming off the excitement of Nordic Fest ‘24, my friends and I left Fredicksburg empty stomached and looking for a fresh cup of coffee. Cabin Coffee off I-35 in Ames seemed to be the perfect spot to carry us the final leg back to KC. Expenses were not spared in terms of curb appeal, environment, and feels, especially if you’re into the cabin vibe. If you’re not, there’s always the drive thru, which seemed solid. Our party of 4 stepped inside Cabin Coffee and ordered 3 Tumbleweeds and 1 White Mocha along with 4 breakfast sandwiches. Bill came to $53.93. Immediately upon tasting the first sips, we all knew something was no where near being right. Much to our surprise, the Tumbleweeds had a very strong zucchini taste and the White Mocha totally lacked anything that resembled a traditional White Mocha. We were literally left speechless wondering what we were missing. Confused, we looked for answers, and we found a slogan that said, “Stop and smell the coffee,” so we did, which was not good advice as the smell of each cup made the experience even worse. The best way I could describe it is that it smelled like a little jar of baby vegetables. Needless to say, we tried putting some of my White Mocha into the Tumbleweeds in an attempt to save some caffeine for our tummies. But in the end it was a no go as we all tossed our cups of coffee into the trash literally and walked out feeling like we had never received so little for $54. On a side note, the breakfast sandwiches were fine, just a tad pricey. Given the experience, we have decided to continue on with life without pursuing a Cabin Coffee franchise focusing more on bringing to life the Norwegian culture in rural America. Uff Da!!!

Door dash was fine. Scone was dry and undesirable. Coffee came barely warm. Redbull smoothie half cool n no straw. Won’t order again.

First time, won’t be the last! Got the turtle mocha w/ oat milk. Delicious! The kids also was able to enjoy the saddles and the toys they have in their seating area. Next time we will try food as well.

The barista, who was adorable, recommended one of their fall specials. She also let me know the winter menu was available. Always enjoy my visits!
