This place radiated small town friendly bakery, and was very Ames. If you’re looking for gluten free they have delicious gluten free options. The gluten free bread has a soft texture, and a very good flavor.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options

Absolutely worth a visit. The staff members are very helpful and friendly. The food here is great. They bake everything fresh daily, and offer free pastry and bread samples so you can try items before you buy them. Everything is very reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend the monkey bread.

Food was okay, watched 2 people who came in behind me both get their orders before I did. I had a cold cut sandwich and a bag of chips, so wasn't waiting on much for food prep.

Okay this place was so good! It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside but it is actually a decent sized place. Hours are 7am-2pm. They let the food speak for themselves. Most everything to drink is bottled except for coffee and free water.Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable about gluten allergies. I have a gluten and dairy allergy. I had a denver omelet without cheese. It is a shared kitchen but they specifically clean everything before making anything when someone tells them its a food allergy. If you call ahead they can make any of their baked goods gluten free. I did not because my family decided to try this on a whim but I was able to have gluten free toast, frosted sugar cookies, and a brown butter chocolate chip cookies. The toast was actually toasted and crunchy on the outside while soft in the middle. Will be eating here again.

Great little place for bakery items. I have visited here several times and had one of their hot sandwiches cooked after you order. They offer breads, cookies and breakfast sandwiches, pastries etc.

I had the “bestest” BLT on the divided bread today. It’s both honey whole wheat and white bread. The tomato was as red as Rudolf’s nose and the bacon, of which there was “ton”, was so tasty and cooked to perfection. I bought a blueberry scone to bring home and divided it into fourths. What a treat it will be for breakfast the next four days. I highly recommend Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe. It’s awesome!

Great looking and tasting foods! Though I myself only got a bunch of the sweeter options, I have whole faith in the sandwiches and soup of the day, too.Our cashier was really kind and informative, and the interior of the building was colorful and clean!Would, and likely will come again next time I'm in the Ames area.Dietary restrictions: Though I didn't look specifically for restrictions, I did notice gluten-free bread options.
