The service at this Subway has gone downhill drastically the last year, it used to be (in my opinion) the best subway in town. The lunch workers never seem happy and are rude to customers. Spirit never washes his hands after using the register, and goes right back to making food. He was very rude when I mentioned to him that it's a health and safety issue after handling money. The red head girl tried to charge me for double cheese even though i didnt get double cheese, when I asked why, she said it's because you asked for extra veggies", I said they can't do that and I'd be calling corporate, she immediately removed it. I miss the old lunch workers. Very disappointed in their service these days.

I go here every once and a while and the couple that work here are the sweetest people. I always look forward to seeing them they are so nice! plus the food is good. i recommend this over any other subway in ames :)

Here on October 15 at 12:30 pm. I usually never write reviews, but someone please get this woman a raise! Every other subway in Ames has subpar service or stoned employees who don’t know where they are. This lady knew all the toppings of every sandwich, assembled both of my sandwiches to perfection, wrapped like Christmas, and had me out in 10 minutes. If an owner or manager is reading this, the 2 workers behind the counter on October 15 at 12:30 pm deserve whatever they are being paid and then some! These 2 are really doing the leg work for subways around the world! Keep it up!

On 8th Aug 2023, I went to the Subway around 8:50pm. I live in 20th St & I regularly buy footlong sandwiches whenever I go there to get my gas at Casey's. I always order Italian herbs & cheese & today for the first time I wanted to try a different bread. I saw the list of different bread names & I wanted to associate the names of bread to its appearance. I politely requested the Subway worker Lindsey(she said her name was Lindsey) to point the different breads to me and say the name. So that I could associate the different names of the bread to its appearance. Lindsey would NOT even let me finish my sentence- "Can you point out the bread and say their names?" Lindsey did NOT even greet me. Lindsey snapped & yelled that no other customer has ever asked which bread is what. Wow! I did not know that Subway expects all customers to memorize the Subway menu from top to bottom. Lindsey kept interrupting me. I tried telling Lindsey to calm down & to give me the time to speak as I've a speech impediment. Lindsey snapped & bizarrely accused me of not wanting to buy food. I had my card and Subway coupon & I made several purchases at this store. Why wouldn't I make a purchase? Actually it was Lindsey who was in a rush and didn't want to serve me. It was very late at night and I was alone in the store. I felt very threatened by Lindsey's dysregulation, rude, arrogant and entitled behavior. All I have asked from her is to point the different breads and say their name. But Lindsey had an outburst because I made a simple request. Eventually I ordered two footlong Italian Herbs & cheese....& tried explaining Lindsey to calm down and not to interrupt. But Lindsey kept on interrupting. I eventually had to tell her that she really needs to see a therapist. Lindsey refused to serve me 2 footlong Italian herbs & cheese. I requested to speak with the manager, but no manager was there. I asked for her name as she did not have a name ID. She said her name was Lindsey. Never in my life I walked out of the store without buying anything. Never in my life have I encountered such a rude, entitled and arrogant service worker.

General manager is awfully rude. They change their prices on a whim and depending on who the customer is. I wouldn't go here.

If your not going to stay open your posted hours, change your hours! I'm sitting outside and can see people working, but the doors are locked. There is no using the can't find help excuse.

Very poor experience with this Subway.I've put in an online order a few times. Once I accidentally left this location selected when trying to put in an order for another Subway. I called them immediately in hopes to cancel, they didn't answer. I called again later without an answer.Lo an behold the next time I intentionally put in an order, when I show up, they haven't made it for me, accusing me of not picking up my order multiple times in the past! (btw, I never did get refunded for the last time, I even paid for that sandwich they had to throw away!)

This location shouldn’t even get one star smh…. Just watched the guy with ponytail who works here handle cash then turned towards the sink and sneezed and proceeded to glove up and help the next customer…… not returning to this location ever again DISGUSTING

For there only being one person working she rocked it and she was super kind and got my food done really quick there was a person in front of me she didn’t take but 5 minutes making his sandwich and I got 2 foot longs and she was done in like 5 to 10 mins I’m very pleased with my food really good and amazingKid-friendliness: Very clean and very nice service

This store is one of the worst Subways in Ames. Everytime we get sandwiches from here it's made wrong or they forget items when we order online. Then to top it off, they NEVER answer their phone when you call. We will definitely make a longer trip from now on just to go to a different location.
