Love the Ornery Chicken and the Crafty Mac. I always get the same thing. The ruffled feather bowl with extra gravy. My wife and sun mix it up. Either a basic chick or barbecue Brisket Mac and wings. We have never been disappointed. They do not off dining in which has never been an issue. Everything has always been tasty.

What an absolute gem combined with The Crafty Mac both located within The Ghost Kitchen on the outskirts of Ankeny-but be sure to order ahead online though (only been a quick 15min wait each time I've ordered) because there is NO walk-ins or dine-in available!!! I recommend this place to all Chicken & Mac lovers of the world-this place DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! ??????????Vegetarian options: See menu for 'The Crafty Mac' as well as the "sides" section for 'The Ornery Chicken'!!!Parking: Parking spaces are numbered & reserved specifically for their take-out orders which is located right in front of the building!

Food came out fast and is pretty cheap. The food however is nasty. My chicken strips had no flavor and the wings barely had any sauce and didn’t taste done.

We tried The Ornery Chicken for the first time tonight, 09/17/23. The order and pickup process was easy. The gal that delivered our order to the car was very nice. We got the chicken strips and tater tots. Both were excellent! Looking forward to trying them again ☺️.

Loved the food very fresh and the amount of food we got for the price. Very friendly!!! Funny we did notice 2 sets of people try and walk in thinking it’s a dine in spot and we had to mention it to 1 of them he was confused. But they stayed and still ordered!! Worth trying!!

Workers are super nice, and very welcoming especially Keesha!!!! We are from out of town (Omaha) and didn't know what we were walking into and they helped us figure it all out and accommodate any requests we had. We already had the 5 star review ready to go before we even had tasted the food and once the food came, it was even better than the service!!!! If you're not from Des Moines, you need to check this place out before you leave!!!! You will NOT leave hungry or be disappointed!!!
ate here on 2 different occasions. Hands down the best fried chicken I have ever eaten! And last night I got the chocolate chip cookies for dessert - they were off the chain! Have recommended this place to my coworkers and they agree! Great chicken!

Simply amazing.Ridiculous sandwich size. Fresh ingredients with lots of veggies. The streamed broccoli side is perfect. Not too salty or greasy even though I got the fried chicken sandwich.
