If you haven’t stopped in you are missing out on some great food. Sandwiches are fantastic and there is always something you can pick up to make at home. Crawfish stuffed mushrooms were a great add to dinner this weekend. Staff was s great and friendly.

I tried this place a couple times and disappointed every time..... Have you folks ever been to Philadelphia and tried a "PHILLY CHEESESTEAK" ?..... Or maybe to the Amanas for a real rueben?If your gonna sell high priced sandwiches learn how to make them first or at least call it something else.....

Worst customer service ever. My carry out order was a disaster. All I wanted was a replacement sandwich or a refund. They have not responded to my texts, phone calls, and Emails. I don’t like getting my money stolen from me at a restaurant. I’m going to keep posting until we can get this resolved

After a long drive and touring the Brucemore, I was SO hungry. A nearby shopkeeper in the Czech Village recommended Anvil. I'm so glad that they did. The Philly was full of fresh hot beef, carmelized onions, and just a few peppers as I had specified. I ate inside and could only eat half of it. And that fresh, crunchy dill pickle? I shopped some more but, of course, ate the rest of that badass sandwich on the way home. Thank you, Anvil--you are great at what you do!

Amazing portions, excellent quality.. as others have said pickles and dill spread is amazing.. I have tried this week salads, pastrami sandwiches, Italian subs, waffle fries... (do not forget the waffle fries.. this ain't no chick filla) and everything has been amazing I mean.. top notch amazing.. I order pickles once a year direct from NYC.. these.. I'm sorry new york.. are better.

Great food for a great price! I had heard Anvils was the place to go for sandwiches. After looking through so many tasty looking sandwiches I decided to go with something simple - 1 meat and 1 cheese (I'll be going back for some of their signature sandwiches in the future). They have plenty of meats and cheeses to choose from and numerous toppings and spreads (dill spread, people!). They have a sitting area if you'd like to stay and eat. There are also plenty of drink offerings including beer, pop, water, and juice. Don't forget to look at all the goods in the refrigerators as your sandwich is being made. From different meats and cheeses to premade dinners and dips you are covered! The only thing I'd change is making smaller portions available. The sandwiches are huge! I ate half and was stuffed. Splitting a sandwich is recommended! Definitely will be going here again soon!

We wanted to support a local spot to cater lunch on our wedding day for the family and wedding party as everyone got ready - Anvil was absolutely great to work with, and everything was DELICIOUS! They were also able to accomodate our GF and Veggie friends who were super impressed with their offerings. Order was ready on time and they gave us a great spread of sandwiches to choose from. Looking forward to hitting up this spot in person next time I am in Cedar Rapids for lunch.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a deli sandwich here -- I have not yet been able to eat one in its entirety in fewer than three sittings. You guys rock, thank you!Edit: forgot to mention that their take home meats and sausages in particular are also awesome! I only use their Andouille for gumbo and their smoked Polish and Linguica are also fantastic.
This is an excellent place. Far superior to any sub sandwich or deli around.

Harvester. Harvester. Harvester. Russian is good too. Then there's the Harvester. Everything I've had there is delicious and made to order. it takes longer than a lot of other places as far as sandwiches go, but it's worth the 5 extra minutes. It's my favorite sandwich shop in town, hands down.

One of my new favorite places. Like big, meaty, tasty meats, unique offerings of meat to take home, or great sauces and cheese? This is the place. The sandwiches are delicious and have a good portion if meats. I buy alot of meat to take home and they carry cuts I can't always find anywhere else. They also make they're own dips and the variety changes day to day. The Reuben dip and salmon are my favorites. The meats are smoked on-site and I find them tasty but not over-smoked and dry. The prices are higher than the grocery store, but the quality warrants the price. A must try if you're criluising 16th Ave.

Usually always good. Ordered a muffuletta. It was made 3 days earlier - date tag on sandwich. Bread stiffened up from being refrigerated. Next time I'll ask for fresh made on sub bread.
