Tried calling to see if they were open,no answer. Facebook,Yelp,& Google all said they were open… Drove 30 mins to have a steak dinner only to find out with a small note on an open door they were closed due to remodeling. Communication is key!

Extremely disappointed. My ribeye was very low quality (gritty and flavorless) and overdone (I ordered medium-rare...I was served at least medium, probably closer to medium-well). The brussels sprouts were underdone and very tough and hard to chew. At least the baked potato was OK (although they charged me almost $2 extra for about 4 tiny crumbles of bacon and a pinch of shredded cheese on top). Next time I am in the mood to over pay for low quality and poorly prepared food, I know exactly where to go.

The food was amazing. Had the Chicken Marsala. Dan, the bartender was great too.

Had a great time with great food. Chatted with the new owner and will definitely be back.

Salad was good, pork medallions were excellent, chicken marsala was good, asparagus was perfect as were the green beans. And the peach melba dessert, outstanding!

An expensive and sub-par steakhouse. The staff was attentive, and helpful but the restaurant was dirty and very very noisy. A few items were good but the star of the show, the steaks, were mediocre. the wine selection was good and the salads were excellent, but the rest of the food tasted like they sat on a chef's shelf for much too long. Also the steaks were small and did not look like the advertised ounces per cut that was listed on the menu. The steaks were also tough, dry and not even close to the medium rare steaks that I and my party all ordered. Actually they looked like they were previously grilled and warmed up before platting and served to our table. These was the worst steaks I have ever ordered in quite a long time. Even the accompanying side dishes were bad, including a burnt baked potato. I won't be back.

When we walked in I was quite excited because the place had a face lift compared to when we came last time 2 years ago.The entire experience unfortunately was not good.My wife ordered a grass fed filet and side salad. The salad was wilting, brown, and many greens were shriveled. She left most of it. The grass fed was out of stock, so the standard filet she pivoted to came out as expected.I ordered nachos & duck wontons. The nachos came out cold. The guacamole was brown but I am used to that if it was made earlier. In this case it was rancid and disgusting. The duck wontons were great - just like I remember from before.I told the waiter about the rancid Guac. Her only response was I’m so sorry. No manager involvement at all. Tells the story of this being normal experience to her for me.Flies all over. On the meal, on our hands, on our head. It’s was quite annoying. The overall experience was bad enough that we most likely will not be returning. The restaurant was pretty dead and my guess is it’s most likely was due to this type of service. It took 8 minutes to get a draft beer when there were only a couple other tables in the place. Huge bummer for a place we used to love and expect great quality.

One of the best steaks that we've tasted at a steakhouse, great drinks too.

While visiting Cedar Rapids friends told us to try this place, we were glad they did, food was excellent, service was great, enjoyed the atmosphere inside as it was 98 and humid out on their patio area, prices were reasonable and next time we are in the area we will go back

Consistently excellent food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. The Butcher Block has become one of our go-to choices for a special occasion or just a nicer-than-average night out.

My first and last experience here was at a mothers day buffet. It was awful. Service was just ok. It was fairly busy, but food was not good if there was any ro be had, mostly scraps. Everything was laid out on high top tables making it a pain to get food out and onto your plate. Not worth the money imo.

Tonight we went out for Mothers Day dinner. They were busy but offered the patio for seating. We had Onion Rings as the appetizer, extremely good and a good sized portion for two. My wife and I ordered the Delmonico rib eye and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be back. Excellent venue.

Wow where to start when we were seated the menu's had food stains on them, the waitress brought us drinks and literally dropped them on the table causing about a 1/4 of the liquid to splash out all over the table and she just walked away. After about 15 minutes when she came back to get our order we asked for something to clean up the large amount of liquid on the table she was visibly angry when she came back to wipe up the mess. When our appetizer arrived 20 minutes later it was cold. We then proceeded to wait another 45-50 minutes for our food.
