“I am in from out of town. My son had a baseball game in Clinton. I like to stop at small businesses and patronize them. What an awesome gem Clinton has. Food was outstanding. Service was impressive. Friendly group of people to deal with. I had the chili cheese dog. It’s huge and all beef. I highly recommend Holly’s Dogs. Will stop again when in town.”

“We drive 40 min to have breakfast with the wonderful staff at Jenny’s, worth the drive. This morning we had Kelly as our waitress, she is outstanding, hard worker, attentive, personable and makes us feel like family! We enjoyed chicken rice soup, country fried steak with eggs and a breakfast skillet all cooked to perfection! Paul at the register was friendly, great with customers and made sure we were satisfied with our meal! 🥞 Thank you to the rest of the staff they are all have fantastic!”

“Yesterday, my husband and I tried El Toro in Clinton. I have long since just enjoyed Mexican for what it is usually is outside of the western states, Tex mex. I was raised by a nana who made a fresh pot of frijoles weekly, that she usually had me wash for her, and roasted her chiles on the comal for her salsa until the smoke cleared the room. Every time she’d see me “Queres comer mija?” and you never told nana no. I had beans & eggs with verde salsa and fresh tortillas with her countless times. I have never found anything similar to her beans in any state I’ve been to, until yesterday. The beans is always my test, that and the tamales. I judge tamales to be like my Tias, who would make them all day from scratch; the only reicipe I follow myself. Everything, minus the salsa, was perfect. The music had me genuinely dancing in my seat, the food made me want to order seconds, and to add a plus, Jesse found the queso he loves so much from his hometown. The service was great and personable, we had several fun conversations with the staff. I can’t recommend it enough and I look forward to returning. It felt a lot like home. Thank you from this second generation Mexican American family, you made our day.”

“Great place in downtown Clinton. A long time established restaurant for a good reason. Food is delicious and portions are generous. Everyone is super friendly.
Had the poblano mole chicken which had a different twist than ones that have had before. A little bit more sweeter with a little bit more hint of cinnamon in it. Very delicious. Tacos were very generous portions with the right amount of seasoning.

“The last 2 times I have been sick, my partner has picked up Homer’s chicken noodle soup to make me feel better. I love making homemade chicken noodle soup for when he feels bad, but when I don’t have the energy to make it for myself you are the go to!! My husband ordered a BLT pizza for himself. This is his favorite pizza ever! He left full and happy.

Our son ordered a personal sausage pizza, that he completely devoured.

For dessert he got a double scoop bubble gum waffle cone.

I ordered a cauliflower pizza with sausage, green peppers, onion and mushroom. It was amazing!

For dessert I got a double waffle cone as well, bubble gum and cotton candy.

Happy Joe's never disappoints.

“Hadn't been to Legends in about 7 years, my boyfriend and I stopped in spontaneously while in Clinton from out of town, and I was happy to see they were still open. Friendly staff who kept up with a fairly full bar/pool hall, and the drinks were delicious, after we had a fair priced beer and a seltzer, we decided to stay, and I had a watermelon whiskey lemonade that tasted like a jolly rancher, we both tried the Moscow Mules, that were refreshing and tasty. For sure going to be one of our future outings. (Side note the food was super good. Crisp fries and as somone who doesnt care for seafood, the deep fried shrimp my boyfriend ordered tasted so good when he had me try one.) Generous servings also, he had eaten part of his food before these pictures were taken) :)

Kid-friendliness: Seen a man bring a little boy up to a shelf with plenty of different board games and other card/game options. we were there around 7:30 p.m.”

The service is usually slower but if I'm coming here I'm not trying to rush out. There is a pool table and a few arcade games.

“This bar is a gem in the heart of the Midwest, conveniently located for both locals and visitors. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly, making it a great spot for a night out. The selection of drinks is impressive, and the food menu has some fantastic options. However, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that when I ordered a soda, the water had a slightly odd smell, which was a bit off-putting. Overall, it's a solid choice for a snack while passing thru the town, but they might want to check on that water issue.”

“Finally got a load back to the area. Friendly staff. The wait wasn't long at all. You can dine in or carry out. Just around the wall is a sitting area. They brought my food out to me. Not sure if that's the norm but, I appreciated it. I ordered the Double Cheese Burger with bacon & Wedges. Everything tasted fresh and juicy. I couldn't finish all my burger but I tried.. lol”

Angie showed us to the drive up and offered to have someone load groceries for us. She also offered solutions to keep our frozen products cold until the rain let up. It’s excellent customer concern like Angie displayed that keeps me coming back to Hyvee.”
