We waited for 5 mins and was seated. We ordered fried Brussels. Delicious. Then we waited almost 45 mins for supposed to be a backyard burger and backyard burger substitute breaded chicken for burger. It showed up grilled. I was STARVING, so I ate it. I would NEVER pick a grilled chicken, but this sucker was so good.Here's why I said 3. We waited a long time, and my order was wrong, even if it was tasty.When asked where we wanted to sit, the guy said, "You want music?" I'm imagining a speaker at my table, so I say no. Apparently there's a live music room hidden in there. I wished someone had said, "Hey, band." I woulda been there for the band.

First, the wait staff was great. Unfortunately the food was terrible. We were last there years ago and it was great. This time the pizza was absolutely the worse I have had, and I love pizza! The friends we were with could not eat their food as it too was bad.

Chuck's is a neighborhood institution with decent American/Italian food served in a welcoming and homely atmosphere. If you're a pretentious suburbanite, you won't like it, sorry. Stick with one of those chain restaurants near your subdivision.
I was disappointed in the food. My spaghetti was sitting in a bowl of water, and my husband grinder was so greasy that he had to eat it with a fork.

It's an old time favorite of ours. Chucks harked back to a time when Italian family dining was the norm in Des Moines.Years later, it was updated and still great! Lots of atmosphere and live music Friday and Saturday.Duck in on a cold or rainy night and indulge in the excellent Italian American cuisine. Chuck and Linda B would be proud of the new owners.

I went last week with my family, we were greeted promptly and seated fast. As a family of 7 that doesn't happen too often.Our server was so great and made everything so much better.To top it off the food was AMAZING! Best mozzarella sticks and chicken parm of my life!!! Oh and the breadsticks and the alfredo sauce that cane with it was to die for! (And i have never liked Alfredo) Everything about this place was so good. I will be back and I can't wait to try something new.
