Enjoyed all courses, including the chef's bites (cheese curds) and naan. Burnt carrots were delicious; the pig wing and shrimp weekly special was exceptional, as was the steak. Appreciated attentive service; we're looking forward to a return visit.

Wonderful and well executed concept. We enjoyed every moment from being greeted on the way in to being wished a nice evening on the way out. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. My steak was perfectly cooked, the beet risotto was also spot on. The cocktails were a bit off, one too sour the other too strong, but we drank them ;) prices were in line with expectations. Recommend for an evening date, supporting local farmers, and trying interesting new dishes.

I came here with my mom for dinner and we got a dinner for two for 89 dollars. It was three courses and they gave us complimentary Nan and a butternut squash wonton. We had to ask the waiter to box up more than half of each of our entrees because we were so full! The soup was butternut squash and it was excellent. The portions were large and my salmon was cooked perfectly. After the waiter boxed our food he asked if we were still wanting our desert... we didn't even realize there was desert!!!! The service was quick, and there was a nice, quiet, cozy atmosphere. The service combined with the food and price point is nearly unbeatable! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to eat somewhere slightly upscale. Will be returning.

We went on New Years Eve and were pretty disappointed. The food was bland and nothing special. I’ve made better short ribs at home. The Seafood bisque was okay, nothing special. My husband had the scallops which were well cooked but still just ok.Amuse Bouche was not amusing or tasty. Drink pairings were slow and a couple of times we were nearly done with our course before they were served. Nothing special in cocktails or wine. This restaurant made me sorry I went out on NYE.

Hoq was a wonderful choice for our family New Year's celebration. The atmosphere is always perfect and the service was very nice. We always LOVE the bar drinks. Since this was a plated meal with wine or cocktail pairing we were excited to see the choices. I had the cocktail pairing and loved each of them. They were tasty and beautiful! Our favorite foods from the evening were the pastry puff appetizer, the scallops with split pea purée and, of course, the desserts. The flan was perfect! Our only complaint is that some of the courses and drinks came too close together. The serve staff apologized but it was rushed a bit in places. Also, we would have loved for the service staff to explain each course as it arrived. However to be fair it was a holiday so they were very busy. We will be back to Hoq in the future. My son moved back from NYC last year and Hoq is the closest to a trendy, creative NYC restaurant as can be. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves every time we visit. Thank you!

Service was prompt and fast. The ambiance is very classic. We ordered a bunch of appetizers as they looked more unique than entrees. I especially loved the Bangladeshi Chicken on Stick and Perogies. The cocktails we ordered were great as well.

I was the first one there once it opened so service was fast and the staff extremely friendly. I ordered a glass of a Spanish wine called Xarmant Txakoli. Delicious; dry with a sweet after taste. Once I ordered they brought me a complementary beet with a side serving of homemade pita. The pita was to die for!!! So good!! I ordered their daily soup which was a butternut squash bisque with a splash of herb oil. Again, fresh and delicious. The bisque was followed by Naanza a type of pita bread with Milton Creamery quark cheese, local seasoned vegetables and herb oil. The seasoned vegetables turned out to be squash which paired heavenly with the cheese and herb oil. The ambiance was quiet and peaceful. Overall an absolutely great experience!

Food and drinks were great. Towards the end it seemed like our waitress forgot about us. After one of us signaled for the check, it seems odd that she didn't ask if the bill was separate or together. She just brought the whole bill and took a pen out saying we could write out how much we wanted in each card. Never had that happen before, usually the waitress will ask at the beginning or advise the table that only one card is accepted before she takes our orders. It was only 3 of us.

We enjoy Hoq where we always find the food and service to be exceptional. Unfortunately, I'm only giving them 3 stars for one reason. Their small menu never changes and we've been there enough times to have eaten everything on the menu more than once. I don't like stagnant, and wish Hoq would broaden its menu. However, if you're looking for someplace new to try, you won't go wrong here.

My son and I visit HoQ every time he's home. I've also taken family visiting from out of town and they've enjoyed it as well. The service and food are both very good.
