I really enjoyed a late afternoon beer here with a girlfriend. It's dark and friendly and the bartender was very nice. We chatted about the history of the place (the owner had passed within the last year) and we sat and watched a passing thunderstorm (otherwise we may have gone out to the nice patio. I loved the place. My only complaint(s) were they only accept cash. I use plastic money. They do have an atm but it was in a very dark alcove it was hard to see and there goes another...read full review
Pal Joey's is one of my favorite neighborhood bars. This place has an easy going atmosphere and fun vibes. Frank is amazing and takes great care of his customers. The customer service couldn't be better. They even serve free popcorn that is so so good. Best part is I forgot cash (they don't take card), but they have an ATM right inside :)

Great place. Super nice people, very welcoming, cash only and great drinks. They are open even if it appears they are closed. They have several TVs. It's a little dark but lots of seating. They always play the Iowa and Iowa State football games. Great place! Would recommend them to everyone.
