I’m a big fan of Des Moines’ growing cocktail scene, and SA is a cool out-of-the-way spot that’s not really out-of-the-way. Cozy interior, but it really shines on warm days with a large back patio. The southwest sider was a perfect gin drink for a Iowa summer Saturday.

We stopped in on an unexpectedly busy Tuesday evening during their Nice List holiday takeover. The guys working worked their butts off to keep up with the rush and did a great job. We always enjoy the drinks here and especially love their dog friendly patio in the summer!
