With short notice they got us set up in the back room, Melissa delivered perfect service, all 14 meals came out at once, all the food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I've driven past this place a thousand times and never gave it a thought. Now I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal and friendly staff. Thank you Rhody's. “Paul's unquestionably has one of the best traditional style burgers I have ever, or will ever, have. At 44 years old I've tasted my fair share of burgers all across the good ol' US of A - and Paul's stands out. There is absolute magic in that little burger cooker of theirs. I don't know who created that magical machine - but they certainly sold their soul for it. Seriously - the burger is THAT good. So mesmerizingly good that around 20 years ago, I stopped by at closing time just after they shut the cooker down for the night - and offered the bartender with a crisp $100 bill for two burgers (in today's dollars what is that - $250 probably?!). Alcohol may have been involved in that decision - but I stand by it - those burgers are THAT good (boo to the bartender who turned down the offer too!).

The tavern itself isn't too bad either!”

“I've never been a barfly. Nothing against those who are, but it's not my style. I like a place where I can sip or swill good drink and have a good conversation and a few laughs with good company, whether friends or strangers, without having to scream myself hoarse to be heard. EJ's is like an evening coffee shop that way: good beer, wine, and cocktail offerings, and a few small snacks, all well-curated. Quiet, friendly vibe, like you'd find in any European outdoor bar or cafe. The one time I ever heard of a troglodyte trying to start something, the owner handled him with decisive authority and ejected him, protecting his customers and the vibe. A German friend was in town recently, and was blown away by seeing on the shelf a Munich beer from his neighborhood that had just started production maybe a year prior. This is the Goldilocks of wine/beer/cocktail bars: no snootiness, no boorishness. Just good folks serving good drinks like they know what they're doing. Dubuque's Millwork District is lucky to have them.”

“New York and Detroit style pizzas. Both were cooked perfectly! We live about an hour away but it is so good it is worth driving the hour every time! Don’t think twice. Eat here! Our favorite is the fig pizza.

“An Unforgettable Meal in the Old German Bank! We visited The Vault last Friday night with a group of friends and had a truly wonderful time. The atmosphere is absolutely divine—there is simply nothing like the experience of dining inside the historic Old German Bank! As for the food, I cannot recommend the Blackberry Bourbon Glazed Pork Ribeyes enough. They were absolutely amazing. In fact, the glaze was the total show-stopper of the meal; my only regret is that I didn't have a side of bread to soak up every last drop of it! The rest of our group was just as impressed. The Bang Bang Salmon Bowl and the Prime Rib French Dip were exquisite, and everyone left completely satisfied with their choice. To top it all off, our server was fantastic and had a great sense of humor, which kept the mood fun and light all evening. Considering the reasonable prices and the unique setting, I would highly recommend The Vault for your next outing. We will definitely be back!”

I haven't eaten here in many years but I'm so happy to finally come back. I won't wait so long to return next time!”

“Most of us had a good meal last night however one hamburger was very overcooked. When the manager came by and we told him about it, he put it back on us for not ordering it correctly. The server never asked how we wanted it prepared so apparently if you don’t specify they will automatically cook it well done. I think this should be a question the servers ask rather than a customer remembering to state that.”

Hailey not only was super quick and nice but she knew what she was doing. Next the salad with the house dressing and garlic bread were next level as well. The Fettuccine Alfredo, Seafood Italiano, Lasagna, Masala, and Seafood Special on the menu were all top notch. “We ran a good size benefit at Happy's. In the weeks prior the owner was very prompt and informative about any questions I had. On the day of the event the manager and staff could not have been more helpful and cooperative. They handled the crowd at the bar very well and the parking in the back was sufficient for the large amount of people that attended. I HIGHLY recommend Happy's and have no regrets at all for using their facility.”

“I visited the Dubuque, IA Maid-Rite about 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 7. I ordered the Maid-Rite basket which consists of a Maid-Rite, fries and a drink (lemonade for me). The food itself was all good especially the Maid-Rite sandwich (I used to live in Marshalltown, IA a few blocks away from Taylor's Maid-Rite in that town). The service was just OK and perhaps a little on the cold side. I was not offered a refill on my lemonade, so I guess this means no free refills at this restaurant (ask for a glass of water or pay for another drink if you're still thirsty!).”
