One of the most fun laid back places around the area. The bartenders are awesome and a lot of fun to interact with. The food is delicious and Karaoke rocks the house on Friday Nights. The Legion is also a good place to catch a football or baseball game. I would highly recommend this place to any group of people.
We went to the Legion on Friday Night after 10:00 PM. I haven't had as much fun at an Iowa City bar in months. The crowd was an eclectic mix of vets, hipsters, a few hospital employees, some locals, grad students and one particular member of the 103rd Infantry Division from WWII. They had Karaoke and the singing/rapping was inspired (e.g. 'Bust a Move'). The beer was inexpensive ($5 pitchers) and the dancing was contagious.
