I have always been satisfied with the food and service at Quinton's in Iowa City. A recent experience is the exception. My husband and I both ordered the Reuben sandwich. We opted for the turkey instead of corned beef, but what we were served was far from a Reuben sandwich. The sandwich consisted of grilled white bread instead of rye bread, Swiss cheese, the sauerkraut was missing, and it had only a few drops of thousand island dressing. The atmosphere was pleasant and casual and the service was great.

We've had two experiences at Quinton's and both have involved almost an hour and a half from ordering until arrival of food. Cuisine is nothing special, drinks are the usual, service is obviously overwhelmed. I'd recommend finding other spots nearby.

Went to school in Iowa city and this was one of our favorite spots. They have fun flavored mules and their Mac n cheese is pretty delicious!

I've tried to dine here multiple times in the last month and it's not going well. I went there this morning right after they opened l. Me and 3 others walked in there was a strange looking man sitting at the bar. We'll call him the "bar tender" idk but he had his back to the door. We walk in he glanced at us and didn't say a thing. We stood there waiting to be seated or even acknowledged granted this was at 11 when they open. Nothing for 5 minutes so we left and went to a better establishment. They should consider getting new staff or just closing they are a embarrassment to the other quintons. Lazy fucks.

BEST PORK TENDERLOIN I’VE HAD! Went during the Utah St v Iowa game and the service was excellent. Beers were cold, food was excellent. Recommend this as a must try in Iowa City and I will definitely be back!

Disappointed. Just moved here and exploring Iowa City restaurants. Came in on July 4th and wanted a cold beer, but the orange slice he gave me for my Blue Moon was STRUGGLING. . It's like he scraped from the bottom of a barrel full of rotten oranges.i'm like 'jeez, i just want a cold beer and have something to eat'. In the meantime, i used an app on my phone to play music on the jukebox. But the homie sitting at the bar and next to the jukebox is apparently in charge of the music that PAYING CUSTOMERS want to play from their phone app. He deleted the songs i wanted to play. i told the manager someone was skipping over the music i PAID FOR and PLAYED. He yelled out across the bar 'no more skipping songs on the jukebox!' Homie got the message and i saw him turn around in his seat, away from the jukebox (he was hiding a remote control?).Jeez...So, the guy was all about the pork tenderloin sandwich. i was like, 'okay!' i took two bites out of it UGGGH. "Did you cook this thing with VINEGAR??!!""NO...PICKLE JUICE..."Holy . They ruined a perfectly good tenderloin. i just wanted my money back. Really, i was hoping he would give the tenderloin to the homie up at the bar.Anyhoo, i just ate the salad, a d good grief, saw blackish-brownish splotches at the bottom of the salad bowl. i couldn't figure out why. There weren't any black olives or any of that purple 'lettuce', whatever that is, but the splotches at the bottom of the bowl, together with the rotten orange, the Homie DEE-JAY, and the pickled pork, just made me want to leave. i felt like the manager was a nice guy and i already alerted him to the Dee-jay homie in charge of the jukebox and the funny tasting tenderloin. i was upset and don't think i could've pointed out the brown splotches in the salad bowl and the not-so-fresh orange slice he gave me, in a nice, polite manner.i wish the dee-jay homie at the bar would've received this special 4th of July dinner. You ever say, "I'm 'DONE'? i just want to get a hamburger?" i went to another place and got a hamburger, and, Holy , this place didn't have tomatoes. i just wanted a burger with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. They had pickles but no tomatoes. Overall though, Iowa City is OKAY!

The Italian beef sandwich was a bit short on beef. Service was fine although another customer gave me some grief when I told the bartender that I wasn't interested in a Bud Light. The bartender quickly shut him down and recommended a good beer from their extensive list. Salad was great and the place was clean and comfortable. Surprised that they didn't have a pastrami sandwich.

Waited for 15 mins for the bartender to leave his friends outside to come in to take my order and could see him grinding his teeth! I ordered to suds/potatoes and the potatoes weren't cooked all the way and cold upon arrival. I understand that this is run by students but to the owners come on don't let these kids ruin your restaurant

The best bar food in Iowa City! My bartender remembered my favorite drink and was a pleasure to talk to. Always great sours and ciders on tap as well.

I have been going to this restaurant for a very long time and am just now getting around to writing a review. I have dealt with several different workers and staff and never once have I had an issue. They are all helpful, kind, and prompt. The food here is stellar and the drinks closely follow suit. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good eats and a good environment.
