Tonight my wife and I had dinner at Pappas for the first time in a very long time. We were pleasan surprised at what a good experience it was.As an appetizer we ordered the cheese fries, and to be honest, they were a bit bland and average. My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich and I ordered the club sandwich. We both enjoyed them. As I already ordered fries for an appetizer I chose the chicken dumpling soup as my side. I thought it was very good. For drinks I ordered the rum punch and my wife got the Pappas lemonade. We both liked our drinks, but hers was a bit too sweet while mine was a bit too strong. Again, we enjoyed them but they could be better balanced.Finally, today was "National Spoil Your Dog Day," so as a joke I suggested we bring our dogs. As it turned out it was a great experience. Our dogs enjoyed joining us on the patio, and the staff enjoyed them being there.This was a fun night, and we appreciate your allowing dog in your patio. You can see they not only liked being there, but clearly were not going to cover the bill.

We ate at Papa's during the evening on August 5. We had a large party of 14. It started out very pleasant, as we were seated immediately. However, when the tall brunette with a messy bun came to our table with menus, she literally "winged" them across the table at 2 of us. We remarked that it was rude, and her response was, "I'm your hostess, not your waitress." As it turned out, our waitress exhibited a lot more polish & professionalism than the "hostess". When the food came, all were served except 2. We were told it would be 5 minutes, as the kitchen was running behind. We ate, paid, and walked toward the door. At this point, the hostess bid everyone a good evening & remarked that she liked my shirt. Sorry, but that was too little & way too late, since she didn't speak to anyone at our table during the meal. I'll probably choose a different dining establishment next time.

Went there for Father's Day so Dad could watch sports during lunch. The waitress was super friendly and attentive to customers needs. The tenderloin sandwich is the BEST I have ever had. Dad said the steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. They also had several local beer options. Will definitely stop in again when passing through Mason City.

Food was not good. Hamburger is pre pattied with no flavor and over cooked. Cheese balls were decent but over cooked. COD was not good. The batter tasted like dohnuts. We won't return again. Very cold in there and loud.

they were a little busy when we arrived but was seated right away I thought the menu lacked a little on choices but saw a stir fry that looked good and thought i'd try the onion petals. Everyone else got a sandwich and fries with a side of cheese sticks. the onion petals were pretty good but the cheese sticks were a little bland. The sandwiches looked quite tasty and I tried the fries and they were very good and I'm not a french fry fan. As for my stirfry. i was a little put out that there was nothing that indicated the sauce was very spicy. I can stand some heat but it was all I could do to eat this. I will probably return someday but wont be getting stir fry. Service was quite good and prices reasonable

Over the years I have had virtually every burger and they are all good, but the constant has always been a cup of their black bean soup. That stuff is fantastic! Now I want some.....

I stopped her for dinner with my coworker on a Monday at 6 pm. The place was about half full. Our server came over and took our drink order and when she returned, we placed our order.My coworker went with the grilled Salmon, and I ordered the French dip, we both ordered the broccoli cheese soup.After a few minutes we were served our soup and it looked and tasted good. There was a lot of broccoli in it. Soon after we were served our meals.My meal looked good, there were a lot of fries and the sandwich with the au jus looked good. The sandwich really didn’t have that much meat on it, but it was reasonably priced. It tasted good.My coworker liked her Salmon, she said it tasted good, she ordered it with the sauce on the side, but they served it on top. She was worried that she wouldn’t like it, but she said it was good, not the best, but good.I thought this place had a good menu and for the price of everything, I would come back.

Despite a lunch rush our service was great.The food was fabulous and not rushed to make and sloppily put together. I would definitely recommend everyone tey this place!!

Very poor experience. My wife and I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich & fries. Meat was very small portion, mushy (ground-up like), bland taste, and wet. We could not pick-up the sandwiches because the buns were saturated and fell apart. The waitress inquired about our meal, and I told her the bun was saturated and we could not pick-up the sandwich. She brought me a new bun, and expected me to transfer the meat to the new bun. Ridiculous! To bad ZERO STARS is not an option. I'm sure this response will not get posted.
Nothing American about this place food was horrible and over price. Restaurant was dirty and you can see the dust hanging from the lights, no heat in the restroom and can tell the carpet hasn't been cleaned and a couple of years or more. Save your money and drive on to something else.

We enjoy both dining in and getting carry out here. I appreciate that the menu has gluten free items clearly marked. Their gluten free hamburger buns are top notch!Note: If you are gluten intolerant/sensitive and order a burger with a salad you will need to specifically specify "no croutons" on your salad, and if getting a gluten free kids hamburger/ cheeseburger meal, specify "no cookie".

My friend and I popped in after a movie and just wanted to sit down and order right away. There was no wait it was early afternoon and she was prompt and she was in good spirits. We enjoyed the laughter at the other table and we also enjoyed watching the screens as the football game was on. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my meal. I've been to Papa's before and have always had good food. Doug runs a very nice restaurant with good help and good food.

The Philly Steak Sandwich is nasty! Had to take what they called “Prime Rib off the bun and cut up. Was next to impossible to cut with a steak knife. Could not even chew this meat. This was the second try at this place. I’ve endured a lot of military and hospital food this place rates well below for food!
