Tonight my wife and I had dinner at Pappas for the first time in a very long time. We were pleasan surprised at what a good experience it was.As an appetizer we ordered the cheese fries, and to be honest, they were a bit bland and average. We ate at Papa's during the evening on August 5. We had a large party of 14. It started out very pleasant, as we were seated immediately. However, when the tall brunette with a messy bun came to our table with menus, she literally "winged" them across the table at 2 of us. We remarked that it was rude, and her response was, "I'm your hostess, not your waitress." As it turned out, our waitress exhibited a lot more polish & professionalism than the "hostess". Went there for Father's Day so Dad could watch sports during lunch. The waitress was super friendly and attentive to customers needs. The tenderloin sandwich is the BEST I have ever had. Dad said the steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. They also had several local beer options. Will definitely stop in again when passing through Mason City.
