Worst experience ever!!! This was in Mason City,Iowa.Sunday morning around 10:15am. It wasn't busy. We were seated they ask what we would like to drink. Brought our coffee took our order it was 10:19am. Other people came in after us ordered got their meal before us ate and left and we still hadn't got ours. About 45 minutes later and we finally got our breakfast. Our pancakes were cold, eggs luke warm, bacon also luke warm. Never came back to ask if everything was OK. When we paid for our meal we said something about the food and how long it took to get it. They just kept saying sorry but didn't do ANYTHING about it.Manager was going to ALL the other tables and talking to customers again that came in after us but NEVER came to our table.We will NOT BE GOING BACK!! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If it were up to me I wouldn't give a one star because it doesn't deserve it!!

Visiting my best friend here in Iowa (from the CA Bay Area), and went into Perkins (in Mason City). It made me so nostalgic for the family-friendly places that I used to enjoy with my family as a kid. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service people are super friendly and welcoming. We received exceptional service, with our food coming quickly and refills of coffee before we even had to ask. My turkey dinner was delicious and the homemade mashed potatoes were great! I’ll be back for sure :)).

The club sandwich is excellent and a favorite of mine! Breakfast portions are ample . pb cup pie amazing. Service is excellent at the mason city location. The staff is kind and helpful. We will be back!

In a nutshell, mediocre food and service. Understaffed and long wait time for food. Tiny portions and inflated prices. Asked for ketchup three times and never got it. Never saw a bill to see if we were charged correctly, cashed out at register.Save yourself $10 and go to McDonald's.

Worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. Arrived Sunday morning at 10:45 with group of 11. Seated right away which was good. No waiting because it wasn't that busy. Table was sticky. Waited nearly 1/2 hour to give our orders. Waitress took all orders from one end of the table rather than walk around. Waited another 25 min for coffee and beverages. Watched other people come in, get seated, order and get served. 12:OO arrived and finally asked what was going on. Got some excuses and then were told that they had not started our orders yet, even while people who arrived after us were finishing up their meals. 12:20 they started bringing out a few of our orders one at a time and wrong. Waitress had no clue as to who ordered what. By 12:30 some of our party had to leave for other commitments without ever getting their order. I've eaten at many Perkins restaurants over the years without problems. Won't be back to this one.

6/18/23Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.It was steady for Father's Day but not exactly busy. Our group of 11 waited 2.5 hours and only a couple of us got our food in the end.We watched about 6 other tables get seated, order in, food came and finished, and cleaned.We assumed a longer wait for a bigger group, but after an hour of waiting we asked our waitress and she said the kitchen had not even started on our food. 30 minutes later she came back and said it was about to start coming out. Another 30 minutes later only a couple people in our group had part of their orders.We left.No apology from management, and they initially tried to have us pay the whole bill with a discount for food we never got.I will never recommend this location to anyone visiting Mason City.

Strawberry crepe that was picked up and only ha small amount of food. Black box was small. Picture is deceptive. Only a small amount was eaten. Tasted bad and the price was too high for the amount was provide. Should have only cost 5 instead of 10 plus. Total rip-off.

Ordered omelette and hash browns. Things have changed because I received like a quarter of the hash browns. And the omelette was very small.

came to brunch with my bestie and had a great time. had some coo coo people sitting behind me and the staff handled the situation very well. my waitress Ann was super kind and brought out our food efficiently. food was delicious and i will definitely be back.

Being it's Monday I came in for a bite to eat and the free pie. The waitress who was most likely in training did not do very well. I asked for ketchup and never received it. The trainer tried to correct this ten minutes later but I was almost finished by then. I was never asked if I wanted pie either. So two stars is what you get this time.

I was blessed to get a Chef name Danny. I had FABULOUS breakfast because of him. I came here for breakfast twice ordered the same thingeverything omelet, did not like it. I wanted to give Perkins one last chance, so I back came today. I share with the waitress how I wanted it cooked. I ordered the everything omelet, with fluffy, fluffy eggs with my cheese melted on the inside of the eggs before the fold not on top. Love, Love, Loved it! ❤️ The waitress name was Anna, she took my order the way I ask, she knew it was different, but she didn't not hesitate she said no problem we can do that. She repeated to the order to Chef and the rest is history. She was awesome. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

My husband's steak meal was good, but my meal (jumbo shrimp meal) was not. I ordered broccoli, but got the canned green beans, yuk. They didn't include the shrimp sauce, so I had to eat the shrimp plain which was not ideal as the shrimp were soggy on the bottom side because of the juice from the green beans. The fries were also soggy because they soaked up the juice from the green beans. A wet soggy, mess of a meal from the one item I didn't even order. I asked my husband if they were busy, thinking maybe that was why they messed up my order but he said, no there were only 1 or two tables busy. Very disappointed.

When we drove in, 3 employees were out back smoking. We had no idea that was literally all of their staff on shift. There were customers who were in there with literally no staff inside! Our table of 5, took 70 minutes for two of our friends to get their meals. The server said the other 3 meals will be out shortly. Our 2 friends were completely finished eating when one of us went to the kitchen to see how much longer. He witnessed two male employees threatening, swearing, and arguing so clearly we weren’t getting our meals any time soon. We estimated our bill and left cash on the table. When we walked out, the two employees came out after and continued to threaten and swear at each other. The manager said because staff weren’t showing up, he had been working 48 hours straight. This is absolutely worst experience ever. We travel weekly all over the Midwest so are always eating out. How could a franchise run this poorly?!

This must be the friendliest Perkins I've ever been to. Everyone we met greeted us. The manager even came to the table to require about our meals and service. And boy was he hustling. I witnessed him do every job, but cook while we were there. If you don't like the food here, I think Perkins is just not the restaurant for you. It was a fine a meal as I have had at any Perkins. Also the best coffee I've ever had at a Perkins! It was also perfectly clean, all around and including the women's bathroom. Good job Mason City Perkins. And our wonderful waitress. And the baller manager. Sorry I couldn't remember your names.

We had fast service fur drink order and meal order. We sat for almost an hour to get our food. After waiting, my husband went to ask what the hold up was. Was told that they only had one cook. We left. Never again. We will go to the one in clear lake before we would come back to the in mason city.
