Maxwell's is in the lobby of the Merrill hotel, very pretty and bright across from the Mississippi River which is slightly visible. Onion soup was good. Garden salad with grilled chicken was ok - the chicken was cold. My husband had sesame crusted ahi which he enjoyed. Our server was attentive and pleasant.

The baked goat cheese and Caesar salad were extraordinarily good, my husband actually tried the goat cheese and loved it. That was a first! The ribeye was perfectly cooked and such a large cut there was enough for two meals. I had the Ahi, also a large portion, and the sauce and glaze served with it put it over the top. Everything, including the service, was perfect. One minor detail I would mention, if you're a party of two and you plan on ordering multiple sides for the table you might request a larger table. The two top was very small so when the main and side dishes came out it was like a game of Tetris, but a colorful and delicious game of Tetris!

food quality is inconsistent. shrimps were cold. our waitress was in a bad mood and not very attentive to us. took forever to get soup and salads. crumbs all over all of the chairs. not impressed.

So disappointing. Looked so forward to returning Maxwell's to enjoy a wonderful dinner. but unfortunately that is not what we received. There were only three tables all ready seated when we arrived, two servers, a bartender and a hostess and yet the service was so slow. When we received our food, it looked great but was barely warm at all. The presentation was awesome and the flavors were good, but with the food temperature being barely warm it ruined our dinner out. Not sure how or why since our last visit was so wonderful. I do hope this situation gets addressed. Our visit was on 9/17/23
I love their food menu in the bar area. Love their original margaritas on the rocks. Excellent taste.

Celebrated our anniversary here on a Sunday evening. It was our first time at Maxwell's & the food, service & ambience all exceeded our expectations. We had short ribs, the beet salad, tacos, brussel sprouts & the chocolate torte - yum, the food was amazing, ingredients were so interesting & super fresh. We highly recommend this classy hidden gem on the Mississippi.

This was an okay experience. We had the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. The filet mignon was decent, but for the price, I was expecting a little better than decent. The mashed potatoes were really not good which is unexpected as most places get this right. The star of the meal was the mac and cheese. It was delicious!
