“This place is awesome! Their food is spectacular, piping hot fresh and delicious as soon as it comes tonyour table! Pricing is average for the type of restaurant that it is. The service is great as well. Kindof a mom and pop place of Asian cuisine. Best hot and sour soup of any Chinese restaurant that I've been to. Usually doesn't take more than 10 minutes for my order and timing is important for me because I work for fedex and need to hurry up and eat and get back to delivering packages. I have gut issues and most chinese food has me running to the bathroom in about an hour after consuming it, but I've never had that problem here. I will keep coming back whenever I'm in the area! The only downside I can think of is the parking lot is tiny.“

“In a few strip malls, you can find some gems. The decor may be minimal, but the food and service is what counts. I ordered Original Thai Tea served as a canned drink, A Small Cup of Egg Drop Soup with loads of ingredients besides the Egg Drop, 2 Egg Rolls, and a Plethora of Pad Thai Chicken which can serve four people. Each dish was served piping hot, delectably delicious with a wealth of favors. This is a local family business you should put on your to try list.“

“I feel that this place is super good to go to eat, the food there is super good and when something runs out they put it out very quickly, the service is excellent, they serve you very quickly you ask questions like a guy. If you take children to that place they ask you how old they are and what you are going to order for drinks and well if you don't have children or they don't take you to that place they only ask you the other thing and even though the place gets very full, that's normal but from there everything is excellent.“

“I’ve been a regular here for the last year. Their egg rolls are some of the best in town. The beef and brisket Pho is easily the best in town as well. I will try other Thai/Pho restaurants, but always find myself disappointed it doesn't live up to Aroy Dee.“

You’ll find them at the Valley Junction Farmer’s Market on Thursday evenings, the Downtown Farmer’s Market in Des Moines on Saturday mornings, as well as Kitchen Spaces in the Drake Neighborhood on Sunday nights!“

“We tried this place for the 1st time on Saturday. I've been passing it up on the way home from work and finally gave it a try. The food was so flavourful the portion size was perfect but my only complaint was that my dumplings were burnt. But most definitely coming back!“

“I picked up carryout from Shang Yuen yesterday and it was great. I called ahead and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. (I would have tried the website ordering but it requires a login to order which is reasonable, I just didn't have time.) When I got there the counter service was excellent and the lady who helped me was happy to help me.I got Hot Braised Chicken (5 stars spicy) and it was perfect. The meat quality was good and not stringy. My food was still (temperature) hot when I sat down to eat. It had a ton of the entree and even came with 2 crab rangoons. I also got an order of crab rangoons and they were great too. I shared the crab rangoons with coworkers and they enjoyed them as well.I look forward to going back!“
