“Traveling, we stopped in for breakfast and were impressed at the unusual breakfast menu options. Altho the array of options were not huge, what they did offer was delicious, hot and fresh. I had the breakfast croissant sandwich. The croissant itself was light, crisp and flaky which made the sandwich perfect. Hubby had the breakfast pizza, made on a cracker crust, topped with scrambled eggs, sausage and mozzarella cheese. We both loved the food, and coffees as well as the atmosphere. It is located in the old town square with lots of parking and the show of this towns historic value. Highly recommended.”

“4.4 Wow, this was a surprise. The small town of Centerville has an interesting and large town square and Yelp led us here for lunch. The service was perfection and the food was very good. The fries were the biggest surprise, and fantastic and real as they come. Almost unheard of anymore. Even the cocktails were by the book. Great Job!”

“I stopped in for an impromptu visit to the lake. I was greeted by a man who a young man called grandpa. They had to find grandma so we could find out if they had room. The whole time I'm standing here I can't wait to pay for a room here. I'm feeling all nostalgic, the foods smelling great. the place is clean you can tell from the lobby. Grandma is located and I check in. I felt at home the minute we walked in the lobby but the room was even cozier. if you're looking for fancy this ain't the place, but if your looking for a homey clean place to stay. it's the one! we will be back C&D Thank you for all your hospitality!”

“The drinks are amazing. I got a mint chocolate chip shake meal replacer an I loved it. I also got a dragonfruit tea energizer after my work out an it kept me going threw my college class the same day! I would recommend to everyone to try this spot out!”

“Was there for ccd kids party was a private party only food we had was pizza for the kids from them but they let us bring chips pop and cookies in which they could ha e made us get there was nice of them and saved us money and kids did have fun and they help yhe little ones ”

He was a regular at the Pale Moon, when he was the Head Engineer that built Lake Rathbun,,,,,can't wait to bring him in for dinner! Do they still have those great steaks!”

“Raymond's has the most best ice cream ever also same with the pork tenderloins and other foods that they serve wish they would be open year-round but they're only open during the summer that's the only sad thing but I would refer anybody to go there during the summer it's like an old fashioned ice cream parlor and you hardly ever see those anymore”

“I am new to town in Centerville and ordered Delivery. The Delivery person was fantastic and had a positive attitude. I spent some time in Vicenza Italy while serving in the US Army and let me tell you the Pizza tasted exactly like the pizza I had there crust and all. If you want to taste what pizza is like in Italy this is the closest you can get stateside.”

“This is the best Starbucks I have ever been to!! The baristas are so nice and very helpful. Some people might think the prices are too high but if you don’t like the price don’t go. The barista don’t make the prices so don’t argue with them about it. ?”

“Celebrating birthdays, and we heard Gordies offered a good breakfast and lunch. Our party of four stopped in andwere greeted by a friendly server. We tried a variety; one chose breakfast, the others' tenderloin, burgers, fries, and onion rings. Great food served hot, and the waiter kept our glasses filled and made sure we had what we needed. “My wife and I attended a family reunion this Labor Day week-end around Lake Rathbun, IA and, per our usual custom, wanted to seek out some unique local restaurants in an area which we had never visited before. I was attracted by the website for Louie’s Lakeside Bistro & Bar, so I gave them a call fairly early Sunday morning, and was pleasantly surprised when an actual human being answered. It turned out to be Tim, the owner, who was super friendly. He told me that they were usually not open Sunday evenings, but because of the holiday they would be, so I was definitely looking forward to checking this place out, especially after talking with Tim. So my wife and I and a few others went there for dinner, and discovered to our delight that it was EXACTLY the kind of local culinary experience we were seeking! The food was excellent, the wait staff were all friendly and engaging, and you could tell that it was a favorite dining spot for the local folks. On top of that, Tim came out to our table to chat with us, and even brought us a generous amount of paella (a family favorite of ours) which he had prepared for his OWN family that day, but graciously shared with us. (Tim, the paella was delectable, by the way!) But just to echo what is stated on their website, if you are looking for a “fancy” dining experience, this might not be the spot for you. But if you are looking for a “one of a kind” eatery with its own unique charm and character (which we definitely were), which offers a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes served by friendly folks, all set in a rustic lakeside ambience, then Louie’s is the place for you.”

“This is a Hardee's, it's of good quality and the staff are very friendly. They're currently in the running for my top pick for fast food in this town, and they're one of the few places who use the corporate app to their franchise.Normally I hate these single purpose apps that are just for like, a fast food place but the deals on it are interesting. It's at least worth it for the free one-time burger.Anyway their curly fries are the best, be sure to ask for them over regular fries.”

“We are in town from central Illinois fishing Rathbun Lake for a few days and thought we would try this exceptional restaurant. The staff was so friendly, and Maria, our chef had us taste test her amazing wings...we also ordered her creation chichen cordon blue pizza. Which was to die for ! Don’t hesitate to show up between 4 o’clock and 6 o’clock for happy hour which we did for domestics. If you are in town, you will not be disappointed.”

“It's subway, so the food is good. Service started out friendly. I was making sure my sister had her ordered right and checked that my son was getting his order. When the cashier was rude. By telling me that the sandwich is done and wrapped can't be changed. Okay!!Tables needed cleaned. I always carry a sample size of disinfectant wipes with me. The wipe turned yuck after I cleaned our table.Vegetarian options: Just order a sub with no meat.”

“Food was ok, not great. Had a regular chili coney and split a soft pretzel. Had a hot fudge shake and a strawberry shake which the hot fudge shake was really good! Nice and thick and good flavor.I had to take a star from service because I ordered 2 soft pretzels and repeated that I wanted 2 because there was only one on the screen and was assured that there were 2 already ordered.I usually check the order, but it was late, and I dropped the change and popped the lid off of one of the drinks. I was a disaster. And the girl was so sweet to me. I just left.”

“I went in originally for the Taco Bell but I found out they don't use the app at all so I can't order my usual, pretty big bummer there so I guess I won't be ordering any Taco Bell. I tried the KFC though and got a regular chicken sandwich box, it was pretty good. Honestly better than your average KFC, the lack of the app though really sucks.”
