Every question we asked our waiter, he had to go ask BUT he was new so we gave him grace. Short version, we were told they had no gluten free options other than a steak w salt and pepper and a naked salad. We had drinks and left without having dinner. The atmosphere was nice, as was the waiter... just wish they could've come up with something gf. Bummer.

The first red flag was the place was completely empty at 6:20pm on Saturday night. We had just left a place with a 45 min wait.We sat at the bar. The one wait person couldn’t make eye contact or greet us. We were given water and menus and then never saw anyone again. No bartender in sight. Heard staff talking in the back. Hostess sat in a chair on her phone the whole time.We just left so can’t really give a review on anything else. Hostess didn’t even look up.

Disappointed it was not like the original iIrinas. 3 of us and we ordered 2 old fashioned and they were different? The other drink was a Cosmo and tasted like cranberry juice.

Went there Saturday night for dinner for the first time. Beautiful place. Music is eclectic and relaxing, a bit loud. Seated immediately by the hostess. Groups in front and behind us turned away as were only seating reservations. The hostess also turned out to be our bartender and waitress. There was only one person running the entire front of house. After the first hour, we had managed to get through two glasses of water and a single beer. She was never able to get my dates drink made. We had the mushrooms appetizer, which was excellent. They were "out of salad." Finally, after ninety minutes we left. The hostess did a valiant job and we piad and tipped her. Not her fault.Not manager working, no staff but the hostess. How can it Function? Maybe next time.

Six guys, huge steaks, excellent appetizers,great drinks, we were there for 4 1/2 hours eating drinking telling lies and other stories.I'm glad the company picked up the tab. The tip alone was probably what my wife and I spend on groceries for a week.We sat in the bar area for appetizers and they quickly pulled a couple tables together for us, brought drink and appetizers quickly; they took care of us so well it was like my grandmother making sure the parish priest was comfortable when he stopped by to check on a sick kid. The staff are so well trained, even the young ones, amazing.The meal was excellent. Guys were swapping chunks of beef, wet aged for dry aged, just to taste the difference.Desserts were huge. We didn't run the entire menu, but the sauces we did taste were top notch. The drinks were expertly mixed.One word of caution, when you first step in the place, slow down, because it is dark in there. Even at night it is darker inside than in the parking lot.The neighborhood is appropriately trendy, very close to the shopping district, well lit, clean and appears safe.

The service was extremely slow. We had to get up and find a manager to finally get our waters filled, get a second drink and place our orders. This was two hours after arriving. To top things off my burger was ordered well done. They tried to cook it further however they burned the cheese and ketchup. And finally they put a 20% tip on the bill.

First time to experience Irina’s. The appetizer was amazing. Other than that we did not have a great experience. Waitress was not friendly or attentive. The main course was warm almost cold. Always like to dine in at locally owned places, but will not be going back here. All together it was over priced for the experience we had.

Most restaurants are short staffed these days. Irina's is not an exception, but the service they provided to my family tonight was the best I've ever been apart of. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing staff. This continues to be my favorite restaurant in the Des Moines area!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Irina's Bar and Restaurant tonight. Appetizers through dessert. Really good. We had Boudin Mushrooms and Pierogis for appetizers. Yum. Next time I want to try the Duck Frits. Each of us had a steak, all of which fit the bill. Mine was a little closer to medium than medium rare, but it was still very good. Then we tried each of the desserts. The chocolate crème brûlée was my favorite followed by the carrot cake. Our waitress was delightful as was the evening. Definitely going back. Will probably check out their new location also.
Nice atmosphere and just the right amount of background noise that conversation is easy and no need to raise your voice.The food is top notch. Kinda funny "antenna" garnish on most of the plating.

I have always enjoyed the food at Irina's. Unfortunately I ordered the bang bang shrimp through Grub Hub and I was very disappointed. Huge shrimp, but the breading was thick and uncooked inside, which made for a soggy, tasteless experience.I live less than 5 minutes away and it arrived hot, so it wasn't the delivery that can be blamed. Raw dough isn't even safe. A waste of $15 plus delivery. I am still a fan of Irina's, just not this menu item.

We went here for my husband's birthday. Such good food! The house salad is so much more than iceberg lettuce with dressing. This salad had a vinaigrette dressing, feta cheese and beets. My husband ordered a petite filet and he said it was very good. I ordered chicken limone. It had such a good flavor and the presentation was awesome. We have eaten here before and have never been dissappointed!
