“Thank Ya Lord! I’ve been saved! Today a KC boy suckled on a diet of Arthur Bryant’s sauce and toothed on his brisket was truly baptized by transmogrification of BBQ. I was anointed in the spicy sauce and smoke of the Waukee ‘Kue’d. The wife and child, I mean liberated woman and collegiate young woman took pity on me and steered me to an online menu. While readying myself for the norm of mediocrity of two-hour-old carry out, I gave them my order for a Boy’s Plate Combo: a 1/2lb of brisket, 1/2lb of chicken (DON’T BELIEVE IT! AIN’T NO CHICKEN EVER TASTED LIKE THAT!!), Spicy (JUST RIGHT, NO SWEATING) Sauce, BBQ Beans, Mac’n’Cheese, Potato Bread, and PICKLES (capitalized—NOT to be confused with pickles—sorry Dave). And I ate. And then ate. Then cried a little when I started to see the bottom of the 9x13 industrial pan my order came in. (Except the sauce…some Brink’s type fellas in an armored tank followed’em down with that…). Succulent, savory, tender, juicy, FLAVORS and TEXTURES—each different and incredible filled that holiest of receptacles. I wish I could’ve posted a picture. I’m from the Show Me state after all, but alas, (poor Yorick…Remember? This is paralleling dyin’ and finding salvation? Yeah. Try to keep up here. I’m yur typical redneck, unedukated hillbilly, after all…), I ate it. And I’m planning’ on sinnin’ again (eating’ something frozen and pulled—like those companies do your leg tellin’ you it’s frozen BBQ…) just as soon as my taste buds return from Nirvana. And the wife or daughter heads north again. Give me till ‘Cued in Waukee opens again tomorrow. If I don’t die and go to Iowa. North of DEZ MOYNES. I mean heaven. Pass that Plate ‘Cued! True evangelical BBQ mana, ambrosia, and mead. I, and this part of the Midwest is saved.“

“Came here on Saint Patrick's Day for the green beer. We also tried the Green Caramel Apple cider. It was very sweet and delicious. It was fairly busy but no wait. The food options were amazing. Not limited to typical bar food. We had a Reuben, Kimchi flat bread, and brussel sprouts. It was so much food, but so good we couldn't stop eating.“

“The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. HOWEVER, our server was EXCEPTIONAL. In most cases, wait staff will make or break an experience for fine dining. Charismatic, friendly, and helpful was what we got tonight. We don’t make it out to the Waukee area often but I’m so glad we did tonight! Thank you Lauren for a special night out.You went above and beyond to make our experience one that we absolutely couldn’t forget. :)“

“The burgers are great! For the price point, especially on Tuesdays, it's the best burgers in the metro. I'm not a fan of the fries, but the chips are rather good.Service has been great for each visit. The atmosphere is good overall, but it gets crowded fast at times and could use a slightly bigger location (this applies on weekend evenings and not during lunch times).“

“Very good breakfast! Good biscuits and gravy which is hard to come by lately. Came out nice and hot! We will be back again. Only thing is the hash browns could have been cooked a little longer to get the brown crisp, either way they were good!“

“Genevieve is the literal best server I’ve ever had in my entire life. She was so efficient and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and so friendly and welcoming while my husband and I were so unfamiliar with the menu. She served us good food and good drinks and we can not wait to come back !! A++++ service !!!“

“Ate lunch here Aug 10, 2023. In the top 3 of best philly cheesesteak sandwiches I have ever had - fresh shaved roast beef. And I eat a lot of them while traveling. However, I did luck out because they don't do this everyday. I am gluten free so philly cheesesteak with no bread is my go-to when traveling. Service was good.“
“The Kee downtown Waukee - breakfasts 10am-1pm on Sat/Sun. Don't chintz on this place, if you're looking for a lil dive barish breakfast. Small menu, but good food! Sausage and jalapeño breakfast pizza (I got 10"): loaded 10"or a large pizza crust with eggs, cheese, sausage, gravy and jalapenos was super good. I added more red chili flakes on top but that's personal preference. Flavor-wise it was good and was very very cheesy! Loaded potatoes: diced seasoned potatoes served with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, toast (add 2 eggs on top, cheese, and gravy +$3. Coffee: it's from a Keurig not my personal favorite, I prefer a plain ol coffee pot cup of coffee myself. Definitely a small, fun place for breakfast that isn't overpriced, over-fancy, nor over-rated. Give it a go if you want a low-kee breakfast. -- eating breakfast at The Kee.“

“I love it when we get to choose the type of meat ( I picked Ribeye ) and appetizers like mushrooms, onions, green peppers, shrimp in cast iron - small skillets. Then you go to the bid brick charcoal grill. That is where you cook your own food, plenty of Texas Bread to butter up and grill. That's when it you can get baked beans, baked potatoes, fried potatoes, at the warming table.Great food , give it a try!“

“The food was phenomenal, The Big Dog burger was huge and cooked exactly how I asked. Wife's breaded chicken sandwich was excellent as well. Service was good too. The only down side were the extra charges. $1 for a small cup of ranch $1 for a small cup of mayo and then a $1.43 service charge added to the bill. Thought we found our favorite place to eat but the extra charges is a turn off. I know prices are high but dang....“
