“The food is wonderful and the staff is working under socially challenging circumstances and handling it with aplomb! I recommend Pomeroy for any meal... because their food and service are both incredibly solid... their signature apple dessert is... and I wanted to hate it, a little because it was SO PERFECT... but I couldn't, because it was also one of the most delicious things I've eaten! The staff is exceptional and they have the ability to make a busy weekend night seem like a dead weekday afternoon... you never have to wait for anything, and your needs are met by anyone and everyone who is within reach of your table... Which means, every manager, host, server, busser, and runner etc will get you whatever you need when you need it, despite the fact that they all have an actual job to do! Because this establishment realizes that working as a team to make the guest experience wonderful is the key to success, especially in a place like Winnetka. Pomeroy will last forever... or that is my hope!“

“My first time here. The place is spotlessly clean and extremely cozy and comfortable. The staff is very helpful but not "too much" so you can enjoy the excellent food. The salad was not only delicious, but very pretty and colorful.Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service. What more could you want?“

“Haven't had Denny's in about 10yrs+ and gosh, has the menu expanded. Was around the area and popped in as there were no other breakfast diners open at 6AM. Pictured here is their Multi-Grain Grand Slam - my choice: eggs overeasy, pork sausage and bacon, which comes with crispy and delicious hashbrowns, and the pancakes were excellent in flavor and texture.“

“Michael had advertised a pop up special for Friday night of a lobster and mushroom lasagna which was simply wonderful. The portions were large and the presentation was beautiful. Many people seated near us enjoyed the same offering and were obviously pleased.“

“2024-Apr-1 update: Was it a joke? 10% off cash payments? I didn't have cash on me but 10% is a really good deal. From late August, 2023:Was just there today for our usual: steak and chorizo corn tortilla tacos with cilantro and Jarritos soda. Service is friendly and patrons are everyday people, which makes this good for dine-in as well as carryout.Dine-in is recommended, though, because of the larger indoor area and the fact that the tortillas are just slightly crispy on the outer shell, which makes for a really good bite. That slight crisp gets soft during carryout.Last, the chorizo corn shell taco here is great with a ton of spicy salsa roja smothered on top. And I had to mention that because I'm hungry.Wheelchair accessibility: Shared lot with other business tenants in complex.“

“Best food in town. These are his mom’s recipes, and she is sometimes behind the counter, stirring the pot. Bare-bones dining area (it used to be a hotdog stand), but the quality of the food is unsurpassed. Nothing bad on the menu, but I get the chicken plate “Tony Style,” with layers of buckwheat kasha, hummus, and tabbouleh. We did take out at least once a week during lockdown, and nearly always got it from here. We were not the only ones. There is a small army of regulars, many of whom the owner knows by name.“

“My favorite is the king crab augratin with a side of red potatoes. The clam chowder, crab legs, fried shrimp, garlic rolls, and red velvet cake are all good. The filet mignon, yes steak, was cooked to perfection.Update...the lobster roll is dynamite. If they have Opakapaka from Hawaii, you must order it!“

“Wow! What a great Thai restaurant with great food, home ambiance, impeccable service, and reasonable prices! The food was flavorful, fresh, and plentiful! Just the right amount of spice and the portions are more than enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. What really impressed me, was how friendly the staff was, given how absolutely busy they were on Friday night. Our carryout order was taking a little bit longer, and several staff members came by to offer a complementary bottle of water, and a friendly conversation while we waited. This is not something that many restaurants do out there, and Jimmy Thai definitely stood out to us with this extra touch of customer service! The staff were quickly seating people at their tables, and zooming in and out with people's orders! Everyone who we saw had a smile on their face, and all the diners who were finished with their meals, left with smiles on their face. I saw one of the staff members even hugging one of the diners, and it looks like they have known each other for years! This is what it is all about! It warms my heart that knowing that there are still great restaurants out there that are reasonably priced while producing delicious food, and are in turn supported by their community. Absolutely recommending Jimmy Thai in Deerfield for carryout or dine in experience“

“Mino's is my favorite restaurant on the North Shore. The staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food is consistent and delicious, with menus changing seasonally. Tonight we had artichokes (a staple), steak tartare, halibut with beurre blanc, chicken piccata and a tuna nicoise with anchovies and white beans - a perfect light dish. Other nights we love the fresh pasta and pizza and salads. In the summer, I could sit for hours on the patio. The bar makes such a good cocktail and the Italian wine selection fits any food selection. It's a neighborhood spot but worth a destination trip. I can't sing it's praises enough.“

“My go to place when I'm craving Mediterranean. The food is beyond good. I typically get the combo plate and lentil soup. The grilled chicken is always seasoned perfectly, the grilled kefta kabab is very tender, chicken and beef shawarma is insanely delicious. Their lentil soup is packed with flavor- hummus is creamiest I've ever had. Service is friendly - ambiance is not the best but that's okay, the delicious food makes up for it. Highly highly recommend“

“Everything is always great at Wildberry as far as the food & service go! I just wish they had a better system for when they are crowded, and not have everyone come up to the desk to wait to be seated. It turns into a mosh pit. I don't like it! Maybe they need a bigger building...something but the food is always so amazing!“

“Our spring break vacation was falling apart, so we stopped here for a reset. And we got it. The food is always piping hot and delicious. The owner knows you need coffee or more tea before you do. We used to live nearby and as soon as we saw the sign, we knew Sandy’s was just what we needed. PS they even make gluten-free toast taste so delicious that my kid will finish it off my plate.“

“Been here several times always fresh and consistent portions. If you're a fan of sushi and Japanese style appetizers but looking for a Subway restaurant style of informal dining ...a quick bite to eat, without all the overhead in service and prices, then I suggest trying this place. My favorite is the deluxe salmon bowl with the black rice. The fish is very fresh and I like the crab and seaweed salad. This has a very savory without being overpowering a true umami kind of tasting food. No overkill on making it hot or spicy. The meals include complimentary self-serving of miso soup. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. In my opinion it's a great sushi bowl at Subway prices.“

“Just carried out from here and was very satisfied. Ordered two different bowls. One with Carne Asada was as flavorful as I've ever had. Also had the Chicken Adobo and that was exceptional as well. Way more variety and flavor than Chipotle with bowls, Tacos, Burritos, Elotes, Shrimp, seasonings etc. Only negative was service( only saw 3 employees)was a little slow putting the bowls together. Definitely coming back.“

“We LOVE the food there! We tried almost everything, and it was all delicious.I didn't give 5 stars to the atmosphere because the place is too plain for the food they have there. They have, however, personnel for clean up the tables or/and provide additional help if one needs it. There is an older gentleman there, in particular, who is always very nice and helpful.“

“I have been in this restaurant for more than 4 times. I highly recommend it. There are a lot of parking. Once you come in; you are greeted with a warm greeting and and enthusiastic smule by the host or owner. The servers are very accommodating , friendly and helpful. They check on their customers for whatever they need until your meal is done. The busboys are hardworking and any requests will be granted right away. The food/dishes are cooked just the way you requests. Their steaks and eggs are up to par. The prices are decently priced. For what they serve you, good amounts of food. Well worth it. Freshness and presentations of foods are stupendous! Never did I have any complaints the way the place is ran. Very clean. Wide open. Eventhough i live far. I kept going back and i know when i leave, my tummy is full, content and some take home left overs. Check their menu. Check the big breakfast meal. You can't go wrong with their reasonable prices. Thank you so much, Elena and Miguel. Who still recognized me after all these months. Great customer service!! Clean kitchens and toilets too! That's how one can tell how the place is well taken cared-,of.“

“My best friend and I met up for dinner on a Saturday evening.... First, parking is hard to come by - you may have to drive around for a bit before a spot comes available. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but was pretty full by the time we left. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out freshly cooked and was delicious! I ordered the steak jibarito with Puerto Rican rice and a side of sweet plantains, and my friend had the ropa vieja trifongo. I'll definitely be going back to try other menu items!“

“Manna is comfort food at its peak. My bf and I found this restaurant when we were exploring the burbs and it left us happy all day long. Service: - Service was super quick and all the aunties were so sweet. They were really attentive throughout the entire time that we were there. - We really really loved the side dishes and we were so nervous to ask for more but they gave us extra because they saw how much we liked it. And as starving college students, that means the whole world. Food: - We got their Gamjatang (Spicy Pork Bone Soup) for both of us and honestly, the serving was more than enough. We didn't expect to both feel full but there was so much meat in combination with the veggies and rice and we were both beyond satisfied. - Broth was really rich and there was such a deep flavor with every bite. We drank the entire thing until there was nothing left. - Side dishes were not just sides in this meal. I loved that there was such a large variety of options that were offered. Our favorites were the pickled seaweeds (I swear its the best that I have ever had) and the Kimchi radish. Ambiance: - This spot is tucked away in the suburbs and it feels just like that. The interior is designed as if you were in your grandmother's home. While we were there, we saw a group of dads, uncles, and grandpas just gathering to have a meal. And it was just so heartwarming to see and this spot is the perfect spot for family and friends gathering. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be a regular.“
“I just recently had my 30th birthday party at Broken Earth. The venue exuded warmth and charm, providing the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Karen was absolutely fantastic to work with and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, allowing us to enjoy the company of friends and family without any stress. It was a memorable evening filled with laughter, great drinks, and amazing company. I couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in my 30s! Highly recommended for anyone looking to host a special event.“

“we recently ordered carry out for a small get together at our house. We ordered off of the catering menu and were very specific with our choices. The woman on the phone was exceptionally friendly, patient and helpful. Everything in order came out perfectly incorrect. The food was delicious, everyone was happy and we even have amazing leftovers for the next night or two. Washington Gardens is consistently good and there is always a pleasure to deal with. “Not only is the food great but the wonderful gentleman who was my server was amazing!Lets start off my reviewing the lunch entree I got. I ordered the chef recommendation which comes with tandoori chicken, buttered chicken, and lamb (I don't know what type of curry).I asked for a spice of medium to spicy mix. Ask and you shall receive! The spice level was perfect. I wanted heat but not so much that I don't taste the food. The buttered chicken is buttered chicken. I call this the gateway food of Indian food. It's simple. Nothing that I personally would ever rave over but was yummy. Now moving on to the lamb. Oh. My. Lanta. Cooked deliciously. The curry that it came in was also tasty. Tandoori chicken came out sizzling and was seasoned perfectly with the right amount of crisp. Tender and soft as well. Lunch came with Naan which was fluffy and it looked like it was baked fresh. Definitely not the typical flat store bought Naan. Chutney was also provided when I was seated. I ordered the mango Lassi and as you would expect it was standard and good.Lets quickly talk about service. I came in with luggage (just came from the airport) and they held the door open for me. So kind! I was seated at the perfect seat where I could toss my luggage to the side and out of the way. I asked for a box and the check (server could tell I was still picking and eating) and he said "I'll bring the check later, no need to rush". What a man! So sweet and kind. I came during non-rush hours (after 2pm) and I felt like I wasn't a bother at all and very welcomed. I appreciated the small talk here and there too as a solo diner!Definitely check this place out! They also have a fully stocked bar but I didn't order a drink.“

“I can't stress enough if you haven't tried these yet make it one of your regular spots. All of their dumplings are delicious, but the beef and onion are my personal favorite. It's usually a 25-minute wait for the pan seared dumplings, but they are fresh and cooked to perfection.“

“Solid breakfast choice in the area, which isn't as dense with options some of the areas a bit closer to the city or the Palatine/Arlington Heights area. The restaurant is pretty large and not super busy on a Sunday morning. The decor really pushes the rooster and almost farmhouse style theme throughout. Portion sizes are fairly large and prices are a bit higher than what you'll find elsewhere but still reasonable. Food here was pretty good, I didn't care much for the specialty coffee drinks but find the breakfast options to be quite solid. I like the spongy feeling of the waffle french toast which tastes fairly eggy and has a unique texture that was enjoyable. The corned beef skillet was fairly balanced in terms of protein and potatoes, with plenty of corned beef. It wasn't overly salty, though it seemed like an additional element could've helped to tie the different components of the dish together. The egg white delight omelette was quite large and airy and prepared quite well, this is a nice healthy option when served with a side of fruit. Overall, if you're in the area shopping at nearby Heinen's or Mariano's, this is a nice and convenient option. You can enjoy a meal here casually with friends and choose from a fairly varied menu.“
