I'll be honest with you--I did not want to write this review. I want to keep the Friendly Tap Community a secret. You won't find any place like it. They've got a bar, a coffee shop, live music, open mic night, music lessons, an 80s arcade machine with multiple games, snacks and pizza, and a gallery for shows and other events. Go there often enough and your name will be learned not only by the super-friendly staff, but by other patrons as well. Friendly's lives up to its name well beyond what you may expect. If you can only come here once, come on a Thursday night. There's almost always live music on Thursdays--see my video for an example. If you do go on a Thursday, ask for me so I can welcome you personally. ?Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome anytime but you probably want to keep younger ones during the daytime hours. It can get loud in the evenings. There are games and seating in the room next to the bar but it may be occupied by a band or party at night.Wheelchair accessibility: The front door floors are fairly level with the external ground. It may be easier to enter through the coffee shop as the bar area has stools to navigate in a wheel chair.

Grew up down the block, never been here. Came back to visit my mom and stopped here Kim was busy doing her thing making coffee and still acknowledged me, she was very sweet and accommodating which made me feel comfortable. This is an awesome place definitely coming back. Thank you Kim

What a great find! We were on our way to Fitzgeralds in Berwyn, went next door for Italian Ices on the way and saw the sign "add to your ices next door at Friendly!" DON'T MIND IF WE DO! Two friendly women behind the bar gave our ices that extra ooomph. Great little joint! It's more like a community center than a bar - you can get coffee in the morning, then come back in the evening for music and a beer. It's got that welcoming neighborhood feel that is super appealing, just a great bar.

Charming local spot to grab a coffee or tea, or something a little stronger. Great place to do some work, play some checkers, or tap your foot along with the folk musicians that come through. True to its name, everyone here is kind and welcoming. One of my favorite places in Berwyn and throughout the Chicago area.

Very literally the friendliest place I know. We love coming here for storytime with the little ones or popping in anytime for smoothies, coffee, or grown up drinks. Prices are great and the staff truly engages the Berwyn and surrounding community in a huge selection of events, shows, classes and more.

Where do I even begin with this place?Long story but... our friend was going to be competing on Chopped on the food network and we needed a place to all get together to watch it. I called Friendly's and that they were, Friendly as can be. Friendlier than I could have ever expected. They not only let us come and watch the episode in their awesome amazing bar but they set us up to watch it on their movie screen with full surround sound... They catered to all of us and were so accommodating. I absolutely love every single person that works there.Tammy and Kim and Rob you are the best in the biz. The bar and coffee shop is so welcoming, decorated so great, so much space to be comfortable . It is my most favorite place in Berwyn and a place I always mention when I try to recruit people to move to Berwyn.I cant wait to come back very soon!Adrianne

Friendly place, no pun intended. The chill vibes, and fun rock nights compliment the loft-like artistic vibes.But don't let that drink menu fool you. Not sure if it's get alot of attention but their drink selection features exotic teas, as well as health food smoothies, this is a good place to hang with a group of friends INCLUDING the non-alcoholic ones.They're open late, open mic on Wednesdays too.The only real con is the habitual open door policy mixed with flooring having random wholes a quick cement mix can easily fix, bugs buzzing around your favorite drink and chance of a high-heel become a low heel from rolled ankles is a small price to pay though.I reccomend the Shamrock Shake, MCDONALD'S DIDN'T CORNER THE MARKET ON THAT DRINK AND THEY SERVE IT YEAR ROUND!!
