“This was our second time back from AR. Elena was an amazing server. She stayed on top of our table and was very pleasant! Skip the line by making a reservation!!”
“My Fiancé and I discovered this restaurant after watching “Somebody Feed Fill” and were inspired and intrigued by Sarah’s restaurant and craftsmanship. We had our eye on getting reservations here for a very long time and we ended up landing lunch reservations for my Fiancés birthday (whom is also a Chef). We just happened to be seated by the expo line near the kitchen where we saw Sarah working. From start to finish our server Rose, and Sarah made sure our experience was personalized special. Sarah even signed the cookbook we bought and menu! Everything was on point from the food to the service. I can see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here! If we could rate our experience higher we would. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and dedication that this restaurant displays!”
“I had weekend brunch at Bloom and every single thing we tried was phenomenal. So good, in fact, that we had several people come up to us (we were sitting next to the open window) and ask what we were having/tell us how good it looked, not even realizing everything was vegan.”

“Amazing, flavorful and fresh food consistently comes out of this kitchen 😋. Highly recommend!!! If you love flavor combinations and textures, you will absolutely fall in love with this place and it's creative cuisine.”
“Timeless old pub decor, friendly staff, good food, extensive drink selection. You can’t find a more appropriately named place for a Trappist ale.”
“Inez curated a personalized order for a special occasion for me. Every detail was addressed! The service was impeccable! Food was cooked with traditional Puerto Rican flavors! THE BEST! Highly recommend!”
“The bartender Rob made a lovely old fashioned for my first drink and then I switched to beer. The local selection was on point! Ordered the smoked wings, will come back for just those alone. Live music by summer of George was awesome as well. Had a great 90’s alternative sing along vibe. Strongly recommend checking this place out especially if you live in the neighborhood.”
“Best steak I have ever had. 10/10”
“One of the best place to eat home made food and best service in Chicago landed area”
“Best guinness, I'd put it up there with Ireland, they must go through a lot of it for them to be so fresh, only thing I wish there were more drink specials a.nd urinals in men's room, always stop by when I'm in Chicago”
“I have been coming to this Bakery as long as they have been open, every year I get myself a birthday cake yesterday I picked up a personal birthday cake, I was shocked there was maybe an inch of cake the rest was icing and the strawberries were sour in all the years of coming to this Bakery, im just hurt”
“It's fantastic old school Chicago, and the food is so good, you just want to live there...”
“Great place to hang out, have a beverage, and play a board game!”
“Best beyond burger I've ever had!”
“This place was great! If you're looking for a place where you feel like you're stepping back into Prohibition Chicago, this place is it. The food was great. I had the steak, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly, I had a few of their signature cocktail, which were decent, the service was a bit slow but it was a packed house so that is understandable. But overall, definitely something that I will plan on coming back to again. Maybe for their Valentine's Day Massacre show.”
“Truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I waited two years to come back for the gnocchi. Wonderful service and atmosphere, it’s a must anytime you’re in Chicago.”
“It’s my first time here, I ❤️ and a place you want to come back so often”
“I have never eaten food like this before! It is so good and I am leaving beyond satisfied!”

“Very nice experience with very tasty food. One problem was we had one very rude couple that showed up 25 minutes late and was watching loud YouTube videos and overall being very rude. I was celebrating my birthday and we were disrupted by this couple making remarks in Chinese which I could understand berating the chef for not giving him extra scallions as a side dish. I would suggest the host to either not allow them to dine after being so late or to at least tell them to be respectful”
“This place is impeccable. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. Dessert blew my mind. So inventive and fun! Highly recommend.”

“The bartenders are absolutely wonderful here and the beer is without a doubt the best in Chicago! Crystal, Kelsey, Brian and Andrew are fantastic and so personable! Even if I have a bad day they make my mood turn around and are always here to ensure that you’re having a fun and happy time! 100/10! Best bar in the city! 🖤”
“Michelin Star Indian inspired vegan or vegetarian (or meat) tasting menu, in Chicago! If you don't know what a tasting menu is, it is where you have a bunch of small courses and spend a long time. It is not cheap, or fast. Typically you'll see interesting ingredients and some cutting edge techniques. I would have appreciated more of an explanation about the courses, both about ingredients and techniques from the servers, I think it heightens the meal and this isn't eating out as part of an evening, this is dinner as THE EVENT. Some tasting menus I've had were like 12-14 courses, this one was about half that, although I haven't done very many tasting menus. For us it is for a very special occasion, but expect to spend a couple of hours and at least a couple hundred dollars (before tip) per person. We went with the vegetarian menu with the wine pairing (not the fancy wine pairing) and went for the two plus ups. I haven't experienced a tasting menu with plus ups (aka an extra course for an additional price) but I'm no expert. Consistent with other tasting menus, some things were mind blowingly awesome and I wanted more and some things... well... no regrets. The two plus ups were probably the standouts, so I'm glad we did them but that did add $ to the meal. I don't know if we set the pace wrong, but we were often still finishing the wine from one course when the next course would arrive, which led to us drinking faster than normal, and feeling it. I don't know if this is because we had an early seating and they wanted to make sure our table was free, or maybe it was on us. So my advice is to not let yourself feel rushed. Would I do it again, yes. Soon, no. Pretty sure the bill was over $600 for two people. For my budget this is like a once every other year kind of meal. Overall not a revelation, but a very good meal and great experience.”
“Every item had its own unique charm. Right away, I’ll say the food was outstanding—there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. We’ll definitely be back to try more.”

24 Hour Restaurants
“I been coming to this area for over five years and I like that captain hooks is open 24 hours. I like the service of the staff and the food is always hot and delicious.
Kid-friendliness: There are kid meals
Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking available”
“I loved it. Have been passing by this place since over a decade ago and never had the time. By coincidence I checked it out a few days ago and I ordered a double cheeseburger with onion rings and it was delicious! I also had a chilli which I recommend if you’re into dips! Very good service. Modest prices.”
“Don't like the intersection of Roosevelt and Canal because that corner has a lot of nasty people standing and hanging around. However, the food at this location is good, the prices are ouch ouch and ouch. The staff members are nice as well. This restaurant needs to relocate to a clean and decent corner.”
“Been ordering from this location from years since 2015 when I live in the area. Now I order off UberEats because I don’t live in the area. Slightly confuse to the negative reviews. During the years I have receive nothing but great quality fresh sandwiches and salads from this location. Highly recommend people to use this location.”
“Rolled into Maxwell’s around midnight and dropped about $15 on two pork‑chop sammies and a chocolate shake. Classic spot—counter‑serve, no frills, reminds me of old school dives. Sammies were juicy and the shake hit just right, but the fries were meh and service was a bit slow. Still, you’re paying for nostalgia and solid flavors any time of day. Will be back for ’em.”
“Amazing time! Danny was my server! He is the best very attentive very helpful. the hostess was great also and sweet”

“I am late writing my review but I had to write it !! I visited provare chicago On july 8th !! From start to finish this restaurant gets 5 starts . The decor was nice and set a perfect atmosphere for a great night . We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated within 5 minutes of being there . Once seated the wait staff began their introduction's on drinks and popular menu item's. After my party ordered drinks and appetizers a gentleman came over (not sure if he was the manager) and introduce himself and made sure we were having a great experience. Appetizers were amazing!! We couldn't wait for dinner!! Our entrées we just as good if not better ! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! When we didn't think the night could get even better the entire wait staff and the gentleman that came over before stopped and recognized my friend for her birthday and brought over a birthday surprise!! I live 307 miles and this place was definitely worth the drive !!!”
“We split the Bang Bang Broccoli, 1,000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, “Beef” and Broccoli, and Thai Lettuce Wraps. Narrowing it down to these four things was difficult, as there’s so much to choose from. I especially loved the Thai Lettuce wraps, which is something that’s out of my typical comfort zone. Everything was delicious and the entree portions are pretty substantial. Definitely on the higher end price wise, but very much worth it.”
“Lugar acogedor, el pulpo exquisito. Procuren ir a la hora de la apertura (4 p.m. ) a esa hora es menos concurrido lo que permite que la atención sea aún más espectacular.”
“The food sounded fancy and tasted SO good! Our server, Andrew, came up with the most delicious drinks! Superb service! We’ll be back!!”
“The bartenders are absolutely wonderful here and the beer is without a doubt the best in Chicago! Crystal, Kelsey, Brian and Andrew are fantastic and so personable! “Service was spectacular, incredibly friendly staff. Please put at least a 30% option on your tip machine haha
Every element of the ramen bowl was so tasty and seemed to be given special attention. Made ya feel good in your heart and soul to eat it!
Can't wait to come back :>”
“This place has a cool, hip vibe and it’s fun to eat at the communal tables. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great variety of beer and creative craft cocktails. Food is beautifully plated and delicious - make sure to try the potatoes, baby gem salad and hanger steak.”
“my best friend and I just had the BEST experience at the whale! Our waitress taylor was incredible and the manager (so sorry but we never got his name because he was just being so nice to us) was incredible as well. We will definitely return with friends and recommend anyone to try it out! classy, but not snobby, cool decor, warm kind and accommodating staff, and great food and cocktails are just the cherry on top! try the carrot cake after your meal :) Thank you again to taylor and the manager again <3”
“I had an engagement party for my Son and his fiancée. It was in the lawn next to our building on the lake in Chicago. A casually elegant setting. We had a lot of different food prepared professionally and I made salads, and we grilled steaks, burgers and chicken. Khmai was enlisted to do all the appetizers, some additional salads and various spreads and dips. I have Mai my approximate budget, let her know what I was preparing and planned to cook and asked her to do her best to come up with what she thought would be best as complimentary. She outdid herself. The staff is lovely to work with, helpful and genuine. My guests were blown away by the delicious and complex tastes we are not used to since most had never had Cambodian food prior. Fermented catfish dip? Wonderful, all the rolls veg or not were terrific, shrimp toast was my personal favorite, salads crisp, spicy and everything felt special and unique. Flavors so rich and vibrant felt like a special treat. It was perfect served with standard picnic fare a little elevated. The atmosphere of the party was pitch perfect, while retaining a quiet all American type picnic feel, the quality of both the food I had prepared and grilled, plus the array of flavors the appetizers added made it seem really special and definitely a treat and celebratory. It felt like someone really cared and tried to make it memorable and my guests were over the moon for this food. I would absolutely recommend dining there, we have a few times and it’s a family feeling you just can’t force or create without it being real. Thank you for your heart and talent to this wonderfully talented mother and daughter team!”
“Girl & the Goat completely exceeded my expectations! very good food”
“Amazing freshest sushi , best in the town , great service , and nice ambiance.”

“Kind hearted people are quite rare to find as cooperate people or as individuals also. I'm sharing a 4 years friendship and business relationship i've shared with Mr Ralph Carico for being such an awesome, kind and specially oriented. Thank you for being supportive each time i buy and invest in digital stocks and coins with your firm.”
“Atelier in Lincoln Square is a gem. Opted for the 5-course tasting menu on a weeknight—every dish was a creative hit, especially the Thai peanut rutabaga noodles and carrot gnocchi. The intimate setting felt like dining in a friend's cozy kitchen. Service was warm and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. Spent around $150 with a glass of wine. Can't wait to return for the full 12-course menu.”
“Exquisite food, excellent service and a great chill vibe... We so enjoyed every bite of gastronomic deliciousness! Standout dishes were à la mode, a teeny apple tart atop foie gras ice cream and sablefish, served with a rhubarb puree. I'm leaving out several ingredients because there were so many, it was such a diverse menu all around. Thank you so much to everyone at Schwa for the outstanding meal!”
“We loved our meal last night for Valentine’s Day! pair the duck bread with the squash soup. It was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese salad with the apple dressing was equally as good. My steak was cooked perfectly. We had an amazing espresso martini and a delightful crisp lemon cocktail. My husband also liked their old fashioned. We split caramel ice cream with pineapple and it was a great finishing touch. The Moscato d Asti never disappoints either this is our fourth Valentine’s Day with Brindille and it has been our tradition ever since we have been together. Each year is different and this year was definitely better than the last! Their servers are great too. We are looking forward to our future years here. Thank you. ❤️”
“Very good. Our service was excellent we had Maidi as a waitress excellent and the bus boys were efficient and helpful Eating there is an enjoyable time.”

Cheap Eats
“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.
I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.”
“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!”
“I’ve been having a major cheese fry craving lately so I decided to stop by Redhot’s to satisfy my taste buds. I ordered some cheddar fries and they were slamming, I wish I bought two.
My gf got the double cheese burger and she loved it!
One thing to keep in mind is that they are cash only but the prices are super reasonable and well worth it. I can’t wait to come to back, because there’s nothing like supporting local businesses with great food.”
“I have been coming to Ed Debevic's since I was a child. My uncle would take me every time I went to visit him in the city. Working for Ed's was a dream of mine that never came true. and that's okay because i got to go as a fan 😉. My last visit with my uncle was on my 21st birthday, 14 years ago. He has since passed away. I finally was able to take my kids and husband for the first time this last weekend. We had a blast! Thanks, Ed, for making traditions and memories for a lifetime! Now my son says he wants to work here one day.”

“We went last night for the first time… Great menu options, food was delicious, portions were perfect, staff was really nice. I had the Grilled Salmon, he had the Braised Pork Shoulder…definitely recommend both.”
“Wonderful meal while on our van Galder day trip to a concert. Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. They even packaged up a tiramisu for our bus driver!”
“Amazing food here! Sticky bun with cream cheese frosting? And cheese curds fried on duck fat?!? Hell yes!”
“Cozy enviroment that realy welcomes the client! Besides the amazing food, has a good service and pretty decoration! A highlight is the "plastic bubbles" for the outside service!”

“Esme is truly an experience to have. We did the menu and the wine pairing and it was amazing. From the presentation to the food was unbelievable and will definitely do it again as it changes quarterly”
“I love this American restaurant, the food is delicious, satisfying and enjoyable. I especially love the burgers and fries, they are freshly made and very authentic. In addition, the environment here is also very comfortable and spacious, which makes people feel very relaxed and happy. The waiters are also very friendly and welcoming, they always greet guests with a smile and provide many useful tips and recommendations. All in all, this is a very good American restaurant and I will come here often to enjoy the food and time.”
“One of our favorite places to eat when we’re in Chicago. Love the atmosphere, food and cocktails. Will be back soon.”
“Great staff and every thing we ordered was absolutely fantastic.”
“Thank you Fernando and Ismael at 5 rabanitos!! Great food, great drinks and great service. Can’t wait to go back!”
“We’re huge fans of The Bear, which steered us here on our Chicago trip - so glad we found this place! We loved the mushroom adobo and longnanisa breakfast sandwich! The mango tarts were amazing, as were our lattes. We left with an apple hand pie to eat the following morning, which was still had perfectly crispy pastry. Definitely worth the hour wait to get in.”

“Intimate place with great food and service. Chicken parmesan and rigatoni were delicious. If I lived closer, I certainly would be a regular.”
“Absolutely Perfect Night at Oliver's
Everything about our experience at Oliver's was amazing and absolutely worth it. Here’s what stood out:
Drinks: The Oliver’s Martini is an absolute must-try – and trust me, upgrading to the caviar olives is a game changer. The Espresso Martini was another standout, and the Old Fashioned was perfectly crafted.
Food: Every bite was a delight. The bread and crispy artichokes were the perfect start. For mains, the scallops and burger were nothing short of top tier – flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely satisfying.
Dessert: We couldn’t resist diving into two options – the Key Lime Cheesecake and the Salted Caramel. Both were exceptional, and we’re already looking forward to trying more on our next visit.
In summary, Oliver’s delivered on every level – incredible drinks, standout dishes, and desserts that leave you wanting more. We can’t wait to return!”
“Service wait time everything was amazing the food though was not as good the honey salmon wasn't great the roasted chicken was a slight bit bland and the chicken salads were a little dry but everything was amazing”

“The best birria I have ever eaten in my entire life. I've just been there for the first time and it's simply incredible. From the first place, I was involved in something difficult to explain, so many years passing and never having given them a chance or knowing the goodness of their food.”

“Pasta Veneta offers a good range of Italian classics, and we definitely had a nice meal. The burrata was a highlight — fresh and flavorful — and the pasta dishes were enjoyable, especially the truffle gnocchi, which had great depth of flavor. We also really liked the red wine blend. Worth a visit if you're looking for a dependable Italian option in the area.”
“I'm from Iowa, took a little weekend trip to Chicago. A friend told us we HAD to try Lula's. SO thankful we did. I will be traveling back to Chicago just to take my mom here. Outstanding service from every single employee, incredible food, and just overall 10/10. Absolutely recommend.”

Our server, Adnan, went above and beyond to make the night memorable. He was attentive, kind, and made sure we felt special the entire evening. Couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone! Totally recommend!!!”
“Eravamo in 4 a cena e siamo rimasti soddisfatti sia del cibo che del servizio . Il locale era pieno di gente ma la cameriera Maria ci ha serviti velocemente e in maniera simpatica e professionale. Le pizze che abbiamo mangiato sono state ottime. Ristorante consigliato.”
“excellent food - we both the spring rolls and the egg rolls. the crab fried rice and vegetable salad with rice noodles were also really tasty.”
“Had such a great time here after a long day of exploring this past Saturday! My two bartenders were great and suggested some good sojus for a better Korean experience! I think their names were Lizzy and Ariana but i did have a bit of Soju and beer 😂 The food was also incredible! I can’t recommend the japchae enough! If ever I’m back in Chicago I’ll make sure to come by again and maybe even sing that time around!”

“On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last! I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection. The side salad accompanying it was not your ordinary side salad! My wife and I both enjoyed the Mixed Meze appetizer plate. Each of the five items was quite good but the muhammara was to die for. We ended our meal with tea, baklava and kubralice. The décor and ambience were refreshing and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. The pricing was very reasonable. Please give it a try. We do not think you will be disappointed.”
“10/10 experience with Eddie! Had a birthday event for some friends and he was super helpful and accommodating! Definitely would recommend this place! Can’t wait to come back!”
“Atmosphere and service were on point! A must go to when in Chicago”

“Best pizza I’ve ever had and friendly service! A Nashville location would be sick just sayinggg!”
“It a classic French Bistro with a wonderful menu and excellent service in the heart of one of Chicago’s friendliest neighborhoods!!”
“Nice and comfortable ambiance & decor. Great food, tradition Isan cuisine, perfect seasoning, delicious and not like any other Thai restaurant in the City!!! The service is very friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable! Definitely going back!!!!”
“A buttery, crunchy crust loaded with chunky tomato sauce and layers of gooey cheese and sausage. It’s a fork-and-knife kind of meal—and worth every bite. Heavy but incredibly flavorful.”

“An old-style elegance permeates the place. From the moment we walked in, they treated us like we were the only customers in the place. The 10 oz. fillet steak was the best I’ve had in a long time. If you’re a native Chicago resident, you need to ask yourself why you don’t eat here more often.”
“I've gone to Vinces for over 20 years, and I can honestly say it never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of the family. You are always greeted with a smiling face and the smells alone will keep you coming back for more. The pizza here is consistently incredible. Perfectly thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, and loaded with toppings that can fit any craving. With the number of years, I have been visiting, I have tried almost everything on the menu from their pizza to their pastas to their appetizers and I keep on going back. I have even hosted parties that have said the same. Not often you find a place that keeps tradition alive with the highest quality, but Vinces makes it happen every day. See everyone soon. Thank you Vinces you are a neighborhood treasure.”
“I have only been to this restaurant once. From the outside it looks like its barely hanging on. It needs some sprucing on the outside. The interior though is classic and traditional. It has an interior that Bronzeville's Pearls Place could really use and space that Valois in Hyde Park really needs. I can also recall how good the pancakes were. I can't say much about anything else. It's been a while. My hope is that they could clean up and modernize the outside. For this they may need an infusion of cash. I believe the outside is where the business falls off a bit I mean you wouldn't even think it was open for business. Its the only place worth eating at in the whole 8th ward. The area is filled with junk food options and it's a shame. I will be back soon.”
“Gourmet Soul Food and Delightful Desserts has the best food in this town. It has a diverse amount of foods, desserts, chocolates that makes you coke back for more! And their beverages are so unique, fresh, and creative. I've recently tried their large stromboli, and man it packs a taste like no other. All the recipes and my ingredient of choice (chicken) makes it feel amd taste like it was fresh out of the oven. It was moist the bread is satisfying to eat and it has the perfect amount of cheese. And the best part? Their menu is gluten-free! In fact, the menu can comes in dairy-free, and its allergy friendly so if you're allergic or have an intolerance to certain foods, then Gourmet Soul Foods and Delightful Desserts got your back. 10/10! Highly recommend! Would order again! :)”

“This was my first time here celebrating my girlfriend birthday. Chris and David made it a great experience. Service was awesome and they made sure we had everything we needed from drinks,, appetizers, , entrees and dessert. The food was so good and it was a fun night . Definitely coming back.”
“Outstanding restaurant! We are so glad we came by! The prices are very affordable, portions very large and as flavorful and authentic Italian you can get anywhere in Chicago. The restaurant was busy when we came for dinner service, but the food still came out quick (tapas style) and service was incredible. We recommend the Neopolitan pizza, Beef Short Rib, and the Shrimp Diavolo, and the Tiramisu (best I have ever had) Very impressed! We stopped by twice before leaving the city.”
“Visited the biggest Starbucks Reserve in the world after visiting the one in Milan, Italy. Unfortunately bigger doesn't mean better. That stairway loop and that thing in between the stairs, takes away value space for this store. It's much smaller than it seems and the one in Milan, although smaller, it was much nicer and more comfortable to move around. Do try that coffee beans with whiskey, exclusive only in this location, pricey! But I think the price is worth it for the experience.”
“Started off with the tomato bruschetta and WOW straight fire! Juicy tomatoes, fresh basil, that sweet balsamic drizzle... it was like the Avengers of appetizers, teaming up to knock our tastebuds out.
Then came the main event: our very first Chicago deep dish pizza. Let me tell you Giordano’s did not disappoint. That pizza was next level amazing. The cheese? Gooey perfection. The toppings? Flavor-packed. The crust? Thin, crispy, and holding it all together like a champ. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were blended into this magical, super-fantastic bite after bite experience.
We legit agreed we’d hop in the car from Cleveland just to eat here again it’s that good. 10/10, highly recommend, will absolutely be back! Giordano’s, you officially have us hooked for life!”
“We ended up eating at Shaw’s Crab House 2 evenings and the experience was phenomenal!! Kevin and Patrick were our waiters and provided us with impeccable service!!♥️♥️The 1 1/2 lobster was divine and the lobster Mac and cheese is to die for! Please go and experience the fabulous food and service and Shaw’s Crab House!! Randy and Jamie from Wyoming!”
“I made reservations for Saturday, July 19th, but upon arriving and noticing the bar wasn't busy, I opted to sit in the back corner. It was my first time at the restaurant, and the space looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the ambiance. I sat for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Someone eventually handed me a brunch menu—which surprised me since I came for dinner. I had to request both the regular food and cocktail menus from the male bartender. I ordered the fried calamari and vegetables, which were quite good—tender calamari and lightly battered vegetables. After finishing, Amelia asked if I wanted another drink. I told her I was ready to order dinner. Frustratingly, no one had asked if I planned to dine—something typical at a bar. I ordered the Branzino based on her recommendation. The tomato sauce was flavorful, though the vegetables weren't hot. Still, no one checked on my meal or offered more silverware, which had been cleared with my appetizer. Thankfully, a tall, slim, dark-haired barback noticed and brought me a fresh set. He also asked how everything was—something none of the bartenders did. He later brought a to-go container and followed up with the dessert menu, showing far more attentiveness than the bartenders, who didn't seem busy—just disengaged. After my meal, I waited for someone to bring the check. With a to-go bag in front of me, I sat at the bar for several minutes without a single bartender stopping by. Again, the barback stepped in and brought it. The food and ambiance were great, but the bartenders' service was lacking. The barback truly saved the evening—he was the star of the night. Sadly, the overall experience makes me hesitant to return.”
“Stopped in for dinner and beers with colleagues. Then sat in the bar area. We started with burrata and side dishes. Both were very delicious. I loved the pita bread and hummus on the appetizer plate. I will definitely get it again. Round two, we had fried chicken, croquettes and pizza. The chicken is super delicious. It was fried very well and the sweet sauce was great. I liked the pizza, although it was closer to flatbread because the crust was very flat and thin. Nice beer list. The cocktail list could be more impressive. Service is very friendly and attentive. Five stars!”

“I can't think of a better steakhouse experience than Sophia Steak. The atmosphere was spot on, comfortable, great service and perfectly executed food. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Put it on your list if you want a nice night out that you'll thoroughly enjoy!”
“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!”
“Stopped by Levant for the first time and was amazed. We saw a video on TikTok and tried the Oreo and Tiramisu Latte. Both drinks were incredibly delicious! Best coffee I have ever tried in Chicago. I live about an hour away and already planning to come back. Staff is kind and friendly and place has an aesthetic touch.”
“I've been waiting for this location to open up for years, and I was excited when it finally did. I live in the neighborhood and have been excitedly waiting for the lines to die down before heading here.
I finally made a trip in the other day and got an iced matcha latte, a croissant, and the zucchini loaf. The food was very good, the croissant was pretty fresh and I absolutely loved the zucchini loaf. The iced matcha was my least favorite. It mostly tasted like milk, not much matcha in it, and the to-go cups are so low quality that the lids couldn't stay on. My partner had the same issue with the cups.
Atmosphere wise, it's too crowded currently for me to provide feedback. It seems like a great place to come and sit down and do work, but it's currently too busy (which is great for them!) for me to want to stay.
Ultimately, I think I'll have to give this place a few more tries before I make my decisions of whether or not to make it my regular spot. The food was great, but my go to drink (the iced matcha) was severely lacking compared to other neighborhood locations.”
“This was one of the best dining experiences I have had. The food was impeccable. I highly recommend adding on a wine pairing to the experience. Service was unparalleled. If you are looking to splurge and love steak, you need to come here. Worth driving from WI to come here for sure!”
“Hard to find good Indonesian food in Chicago so was excited to try this place out! It was delicious I had the beef rice plate and the meat was so flavorful and well cooked, surprising favorite was also the collard greens. Sambal was excellent too.
Excited to come back and try some of their other menu items”
“I stopped by with my toddler and was immediately greeted by staff. Ordered the breakfast burrito and a taco and rice for my daughter and the food was delicious. The rice was flavorful, the tortilla was fresh and the best part was the agua de Mango. Will definitely have to stop in again and try other items on the menu.”
“The experience we had at this restaurant was memorable for all of the right reasons. I could go down the list and check all the boxes for why this is a top-notch restaurant. The food, cocktails (some of the best I’ve ever had), ambiance, and hospitality couldn’t have been better. The owner himself (Charlie), personally engaged with us to make sure we were pleased with our experience. In summary, my wife and I will be back.”
“So excited to have a new food spot near home. Absolutely Loved it!! Try this spot if you are looking for a fresh, clean, healthy and delicious meal. I ordered the chicken kabob bowl and the meat was flavorful, juicy, and chargrilled goodness. Also ordered the hummus. The portion was large enough for two to share. The staff was really nice and patient as I navigated the menu. They walked my food over to my table. Ten out of ten stars. I'd come back again and again and again.”
“Istmo has a modern Mexican vibe with a unique menu, friendly service, and great cocktails. I really enjoyed everything I ate (scallops with mole, cod with cabbage, and patatas bravas). My favorite cocktail was a riff on a New York Sour, made with tequila and mezcal - strong, a little sweet, and eye-catching.”
“We tried this today after passing it for the past couple of weeks and wow! What a great addition to this area! We both got a 9” which is the larger of two size options. (The other is 7”). You can choose between steak and chicken. We both got the steak option. My husband got the original which is just as you would expect. Mozzarella, provolone, onions and peppers. I chose the Chicago which had all of the above with the exception of just mozzarella but with the addition of mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo. Sides are extra but she was kind enough to tell us that an order of fries was enough for two people. It is a counter service appt. The lady who took our order was very helpful and courteous. Our order arrived fast. We didn’t even wait 10 minutes. It was fresh and steaming hot when it arrived at our table. The bread was amazing too. For desert we had the fried Oreos which were unbelievably addicting. We would come back over and over again and LOVE that they chose a location so close to where we live but make no mistake…we would travel a ways to come back.”
“Tapsilog, tocilog, fried fish, halo halo.”
