“My Fiancé and I discovered this restaurant after watching “Somebody Feed Fill” and were inspired and intrigued by Sarah’s restaurant and craftsmanship. We had our eye on getting reservations here for a very long time and we ended up landing lunch reservations for my Fiancés birthday (whom is also a Chef). We just happened to be seated by the expo line near the kitchen where we saw Sarah working. From start to finish our server Rose, and Sarah made sure our experience was personalized special. Sarah even signed the cookbook we bought and menu! Everything was on point from the food to the service. I can see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here! If we could rate our experience higher we would. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and dedication that this restaurant displays!”

“Having never been to a vegan restaurant, I was unsure what to expect. However, that concern was unfounded. We tried three starters in our group and each one was great. We then shared a flatbread, and the sweet potato gnocchi. Both were well prepared and very flavorful. The wine selection is also quite good. ”

However, the food at this location is good, the prices are ouch ouch and ouch. The staff members are nice as well. This restaurant needs to relocate to a clean and decent corner.”

It's the Chicago way along with those delicious fries that are free and a wildwood pop! Hell, get a porkchop sandwich, too, but be careful with that bone!

“I was going to another place for breakfast this morning while visiting Chicago; I don't know places well. But there was no parking there, and ... I saw plenty of parking near the Golden Apple. So hey, I stopped. Glad I did! VERY friendly, comfortable, nice staff and customers too. The food was fast and delicious. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito, it was big, and full of good stuff, not just a bunch of beans. My waitress was friendly, and quick to refill my coffee. I'm tagging this on Google Maps for the next time I'm in town.”

“My mom and I were in Chinatown looking for a place to have some great fried rice. Yao Yao came up when we searched Google and then we stumbled on it as we were walking so we decided to give it a try. It was clean, spacious and the decor was so cute! Upon reading the reviews further, we found out that this place’s specialty is their pickled fish and that it’s a Michelin star restaurant but we didn’t end up getting it. We ordered their shrimp fried rice with extra veggies, their shrimp Lo mein and their chili chicken. We were disappointed about the fried rice as it barely had any flavor and the shrimp for both the fried rice and Lo mein was lacking in flavor. We kept adding soy sauce and chili oil to make the rice taste decent but the other dishes were good! The chili chicken was very delicious and full of flavor!! We would go back again for the Lo mein, the chili chicken & to try the pickled fish next time but not the fried rice.”

Matt, our waitress, who somehow juggled food orders, game rule explanations, and emotional support like a seasoned dungeon master. She’s basically the Gandalf of good service. The food was shockingly excellent. The grilled cheese healed us. The fries may have unlocked a new level of consciousness. Come for the games, stay for the food, worship Matt. I especially loved the Thai Lettuce wraps, which is something that’s out of my typical comfort zone. Everything was delicious and the entree portions are pretty substantial. Definitely on the higher end price wise, but very much worth it.”

“We loved our meal last night for Valentine’s Day! pair the duck bread with the squash soup. It was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese salad with the apple dressing was equally as good. My steak was cooked perfectly. We had an amazing espresso martini and a delightful crisp lemon cocktail. My husband also liked their old fashioned. We split caramel ice cream with pineapple and it was a great finishing touch. The Moscato d Asti never disappoints either this is our fourth Valentine’s Day with Brindille and it has been our tradition ever since we have been together. Each year is different and this year was definitely better than the last! Their servers are great too. We are looking forward to our future years here. Thank you. ❤️”

“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.”

You are always greeted with a smiling face and the smells alone will keep you coming back for more. The pizza here is consistently incredible. Perfectly thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, and loaded with toppings that can fit any craving. With the number of years, I have been visiting, I have tried almost everything on the menu from their pizza to their pastas to their appetizers and I keep on going back. I have even hosted parties that have said the same. Not often you find a place that keeps tradition alive with the highest quality, but Vinces makes it happen every day. See everyone soon. “I have only been to this restaurant once. From the outside it looks like its barely hanging on. It needs some sprucing on the outside. The interior though is classic and traditional. It has an interior that Bronzeville's Pearls Place could really use and space that Valois in Hyde Park really needs. I can also recall how good the pancakes were. I can't say much about anything else. It's been a while. My hope is that they could clean up and modernize the outside. For this they may need an infusion of cash. I believe the outside is where the business falls off a bit I mean you wouldn't even think it was open for business. Its the only place worth eating at in the whole 8th ward. The area is filled with junk food options and it's a shame. I will be back soon.”

The only problem is the hours are short if you want to go out for dinner. Almost impossible if you are a working person to get to the restaurant before closing. Even weekends are a problem. The quality of the food makes it my favorite place to go to eat the best Cuban food.”

“Visited the biggest Starbucks Reserve in the world after visiting the one in Milan, Italy. Unfortunately bigger doesn't mean better. That stairway loop and that thing in between the stairs, takes away value space for this store. It's much smaller than it seems and the one in Milan, although smaller, it was much nicer and more comfortable to move around. Do try that coffee beans with whiskey, exclusive only in this location, pricey! But I think the price is worth it for the experience.”

Then came the main event: our very first Chicago deep dish pizza. Let me tell you Giordano’s did not disappoint. That pizza was next level amazing. The cheese? Gooey perfection. The toppings? Flavor-packed. The crust? Thin, crispy, and holding it all together like a champ. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were blended into this magical, super-fantastic bite after bite experience.

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!”

“10s 10s 10s!!!!!!! I’m a big fan of Diego so I wanted to check out this new addition to the network. Trino had some BIG shoes to fill replacing KŌMO, and they did not disappoint. Every item I consumed was rich and *bursting* with flavor.

The lamb empanada might rival El Che for best I’ve tried in Chicago. $9 is steep but… oooh the way it tasted changed my brain chemistry. 30/10. The Wagyu steak sandwich was unnnnnnbelievable. Zero notes. 50/10. The mac and cheese was thick and really sat down in my tummy. I did not finish it or the sandwich and packed a decent portion for lunch the next day. The patio verde and wine were also quite good. Overall a solid happy hour and the staff are very personable. I felt like I was eating with friends. Heather and Jordan made me feel so welcome. “I've been waiting for this location to open up for years, and I was excited when it finally did. I live in the neighborhood and have been excitedly waiting for the lines to die down before heading here.

I finally made a trip in the other day and got an iced matcha latte, a croissant, and the zucchini loaf. The food was very good, the croissant was pretty fresh and I absolutely loved the zucchini loaf. The iced matcha was my least favorite. It mostly tasted like milk, not much matcha in it, and the to-go cups are so low quality that the lids couldn't stay on. My partner had the same issue with the cups.

Atmosphere wise, it's too crowded currently for me to provide feedback. It seems like a great place to come and sit down and do work, but it's currently too busy (which is great for them!) for me to want to stay.

Ultimately, I think I'll have to give this place a few more tries before I make my decisions of whether or not to make it my regular spot. The food was great, but my go to drink (the iced matcha) was severely lacking compared to other neighborhood locations.”
