I've been to Beatrix River North several times. The food is usually good. Their menu hasn't changed much over time. When I went yesterday, I had really poor service. The server was rather rude, and everything has to be requested rather than offered, e.g. sweetener for my tea which I requested and never received and had to walk over to the bar to ask for some, refill of coffee which was not offered but had to be requested, and the hovering near the end of the meal to seemingly push us to leave when we went around 2pm on a Sunday when the weather was nice and the restaurant not even close to full. The eggs your way looked like they had been sitting scrambled for some time rather than freshly prepared, the hash browns in a square were cold, and the toast was served dry without butter or jam, both of which had to be requested and when they arrived the toast was no longer warm. The bakery had no scones either. All in all, a disappointing visit to this Chicago mainstay.
We had the chicken enchiladas and they were amazing! Had the whipped feta, which was very good, but I personally preferred the hot honey Brussels sprouts I'd tried on a previous visit.

Loved sitting a the best table by the open door and then being spoiled byt the best wait staff! White fish was devine and the Emmy Cheesecake they gifted us with our coffee and tea was amazing.
Our server, Rem was amazing, but the expectation of the food and what we received was a little bit disappointing. The one on Trey that was on a bed of chips ended up being soaked, so the chips were soggy, which is not very appetizing. Will be willing to try it again, but it's gonna be a quick minute..

Great place to have a brunch, they were careful about allergies and intolerances. They have vegan cookies and donuts. The avocado toast with scrambled eggs was amazing! Unfortunately the hazelnut mocha was too sweet, no flavor at all, just sugar :(Dietary restrictions: Vegan options

Surprised this place is as highly rated as it is. We came on an early Sunday morning and sat immediately, which was nice. Unfortunately though the coffee was cold and the food was kinda meh, needed a little more salt and flavor. Service was reasonable and timely but not friendly. We got the breakfast sandwich and avocado toast with two eggs. Wish I could like this more but to be honest this was our experience. Wouldn’t suggest it unless you’re going in for a quick coffee.

They've changed their menu since pre-menu, but I really aprpeciated still be able to get their 'Eggs your way' with the upgrade to Salmon (this is no longer listed on the menu) and a lemon blueberry muffin.

I was so excited to try Beatrix, but unfortunately, it just missed the mark for me. The food was under-seasoned and generally just okay. The strawberry matcha was not sweet at all which was disappointing. The only good thing was the lemon blueberry pancakes
Savannah and Julian provided me the utmost patience and care when i needed to order a to-go salad with many modifications. They made sure my requests were fulfilled and instilled confidence in me that I would be safe consuming it despite my allergies. I recommend this restaurant and its staff to anyone who needs a little tlc and extra love. So I came to Beatrix and originally wanted the Miso Salmon but they changed the menu for the season so I had a time trying to find something within my dietary restrictions: no beef, pork, dairy, citrus, tomatoes, or extra spicy foods. It took an hour which is why I took away one star for service however I was met with a customized meal by the chef and the manager that was comped plus a free vegan chocolate chip cookie. It’s a massive cookie too. Kitchen sink and all. Would recommend. The salmon is incredible every. single. time.
