This place not only has amazing drinks (The Professor was particularly awesome), but also great service. Our server knew exactly when to come by and when to let us chat. And when I accidentally left my phone on the table, he made sure I got it back. Please stop by! You won't regret it.
This place is a more quiet and intimate location — the other bars around it are bustling and busier and louder, so this was a great choice to come into a more low-key establishment. Moreover, the staff are just phenomenal — genuine and friendly. Full cocktail program. Happy hour specials.

Remember how Halsted used to have several bars for grown-ups? There are not many places left that aren't about booming music and tedious club drinks. Elixir is a perfect bar to continue the evening after dinner is over, but you want to continue the dinner conversation. Music is moderately loud, but it still feels cozy and comfortable.
