“My Fiancé and I discovered this restaurant after watching “Somebody Feed Fill” and were inspired and intrigued by Sarah’s restaurant and craftsmanship. We had our eye on getting reservations here for a very long time and we ended up landing lunch reservations for my Fiancés birthday (whom is also a Chef). We just happened to be seated by the expo line near the kitchen where we saw Sarah working. From start to finish our server Rose, and Sarah made sure our experience was personalized special. Sarah even signed the cookbook we bought and menu! Everything was on point from the food to the service. I can see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here! If we could rate our experience higher we would. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and dedication that this restaurant displays!”

“A treat for all of the senses! My introduction to The Gundis was a Sunday breakfast. What a beautiful feast was laid before me, my husband and a local friend who we were visiting. We ordered the Kurdish breakfast for two plus an order of baklawa crêpes. An array of colorful, tantalizingly-scented dishes soon filled our table. Superb savory and sweet flavors awaited our taste buds. All of us were amazed by the diverse deliciousness. The atmosphere and service were also excellent. It was truly pleasurable to indulge in a breakfast feast like no other. My only complaint is that I live too far to return often. Kudos to this Kurdish delight.”

“The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The pool has floaties and toys for littles, that was a nice touch. It is not super warm for being heated but wasn’t terrible. Our only complaint was breakfast at ETA. On our second morning we were informed that it would be a buffet that day and the next day, and the cost would be $29.99 for each adult and $15 for kids 12 and under. The buffet was underwhelming and the equivalent to a free continental breakfast you’d get at a Best Western. It was cheap bacon, the powder egg mix, if you get what I’m saying, definitely not $30 quality. There were other guests at the buffet that were as unimpressed as us.”

“I was downtown craving boba at like 7pm, when a lot of boba shops were closed, and this vending machine came up on google, so I decided to try it! I got the roast oolong milk tea with agar and it was sweet and creamy and tasted the same as what I I would expect fresh from a boba shop. My only complaint is that I wish the different bubble teas were clearly labeled right in the vending machine. Instead, you have to go through and click on each one on the touch screen to find out what they are.”

We come in later on Fridays and can always go here. This is our go to place starting tonight. FYI-- I shared a Ruben sandwich that came with clam chowder( 3 options) and one other side. I had a Mimosa and shared coconut cream pie. Mom (87yo) had a Greek shiskabob to die for. It came with so much that she has food for days. Friendly staff and good food--- soup to nuts. My new go to place!!”

“I am late writing my review but I had to write it !! I visited provare chicago On july 8th !! From start to finish this restaurant gets 5 starts . The decor was nice and set a perfect atmosphere for a great night . We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated within 5 minutes of being there . Once seated the wait staff began their introduction's on drinks and popular menu item's. After my party ordered drinks and appetizers a gentleman came over (not sure if he was the manager) and introduce himself and made sure we were having a great experience. Appetizers were amazing!! We couldn't wait for dinner!! Our entrées we just as good if not better ! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! When we didn't think the night could get even better the entire wait staff and the gentleman that came over before stopped and recognized my friend for her birthday and brought over a birthday surprise!! I live 307 miles and this place was definitely worth the drive !!!”

“We came in for our 8:30 reservation and were seated right behind a large structure, which completely blocked our view of the show ( baila habibi). It was frustrating because there were clearly other open tables, but we were told those were reserved for a private party. Throughout the night, we never actually saw any private party happening, so that explanation didn't really hold up. The atmosphere itself was fun, with good music and a lively vibe, but the show was just okay—and honestly hard to enjoy when we had to stand up and walk away from our table just to see anything. Service was where things really fell apart. It took about 45 minutes before we even got menus or water. Our waiter seemed to be covering a huge section alone, but he walked by us multiple times without acknowledging us until we flagged him down. Drinks were inconsistent each time, and overall he felt very inexperienced. That could be forgivable, but the situation got worse—he actually left his shift before the night was over without handing our table off to anyone. We ended up waiting another hour just trying to find someone—anyone—to help us pay our tab. As for the food, the flavors were good, but kebabs came out a bit dry and didn't come with sauces unless we specifically asked for them. The appetizer platter was excellent and very authentic tasting. Overall, the place has potential because the vibe is there, but between the poor seating, disorganized service, and lack of basic attention to guests, the experience ended up being more frustrating than enjoyable.”

Every bite was special - the hummus was silky, the lentil soup was perfectly spiced, the cauliflower deliciously fried, the chicken moist and amazing with the garlic and pepper sauces. Shishbarak is hard to get right so I was impressed. Dessert was the cremieux, a fantastic chocolate dessert with rose and cardamom. Some of the best levantine food you're gonna get in the midwest.”

If Michelin stars are awarded on food and food alone, this should be a 3 star. It's probably the most eclectic and unique menus I've seen. The music is loud and fun which is a welcome change from other fine dining spots. The only thing that feels luxury about Schwa is the food--that's a good thing in my opinion. Very unique to have boneless breast thighs wing and leg portions battered and fried. Was very good. I just think the sauces were way to pricey at $1.45 a sauce wow even 99 cents seems a lot but would feel better lol. At least give one with the order or reduce the sauce price. But overall they need to spread this concept into more areas for sure out side like in the suburbs”

“Outstanding restaurant! We are so glad we came by! The prices are very affordable, portions very large and as flavorful and authentic Italian you can get anywhere in Chicago. The restaurant was busy when we came for dinner service, but the food still came out quick (tapas style) and service was incredible. We recommend the Neopolitan pizza, Beef Short Rib, and the Shrimp Diavolo, and the Tiramisu (best I have ever had) Very impressed! We stopped by twice before leaving the city.”

“Our server was Chris(Italian One) What an amazing person, amazing personality, very kind, attentive, great worker, he really took care of us, he was very honest since the beginning,saying that those pizza might take 45 min or 1 hour, and we agreed, he got us drinks, every 5 min talking with us, have a little chat, this was our first time in Chicago and he recommended us a couple places, he even changed our drinks when we got our pizza because they got watery, loved him, people like that deserves the world, bless him. Anyways😂 Pizza was amazing, another world, we watched a lot of tik toks and we wanted to come, definitely loved it, we will come back tomorrow, amazing experience, amazing pizza, thank you guys for everything”

“Here for my daughter’s birthday! It was a great experience. My daughter was happy when host aside happy birthday to her and also has her name on the menu for happy birthday. The environment for sure is dark. I think it is way too dark for my liking, but also underrated it is personal preference. We ordered a rib eye and it was super delicious. Overall great experience. One last point I would say, we ordered dessert, but server never put a candle for it. But the table next to us got a candle. So my daughter was a little disappointed. But overall still a great experience!”

“Adorable spot serving surprisingly traditional foods with a spin. Haven’t seen monkfish on a menu for a while! The squid salad was a bit skimpy with the seafood but the sauce was perfect. The service was quick and on point. The drinks were delicious also with a legit bar menu.”

“We came in for a drink and ended up getting food while sitting at the bar. The food and service were so good. We had the lamb empanadas which is not in the pictures. The sauce that it comes with is amazing. Then we had the hawaiian rolls that comes with tatemada and epazote butter, Picanha Prime Rib with chimi churri sauce, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was so good that we ate all of the food. Nothing was left when they took the plates lol!! We will be back.”

“I came here today on my lunch break to grab a burger. Let’s start off by saying the gentleman behind the bar was so kind as soon as walked in the door. The vibe was great! I’ll definitely be back soon when I’m not working to grab a bite and a drink inside.

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!”

“Recently threw a birthday shuffleboard party for my husband at The Royal Palms in Gowanus and it was so much better than we expected. First of all the shuffleboard game added a little fun competition among the guests and encouraged mingling and meeting new people. But I also can’t say enough about the helpful and attentive staff. The vibe is really fun and the catering was delicious. I got so many compliments from our guests. Will definitely refer it to friends and come again.”
